Fair enough. Search for each word and control+f the three most recent pages for a portion of the word. You'll get 99% of cases.

Usually, just searching for the most unique portion of the title will get you there. Want LA Noire? Don't search for LA Noire. LA can laid out in several ways. Instead just search for Noire. Really hard up for Borderlands 2 Season Pass? Control+f the last 5 pages for "borderland" or "season" or "n pass". The case doesn't matter and portion of the strings are fine so cut out the most likely part to be misspelled.

You may know all this but you made a decent point and this may help someone here.

Does anyone think it would it be a good (or bad) idea to introduce some simple rules for trading in this thread? It seems it has evolved from being a place for organising group buys and region censored game gifting for Steam games (as the title suggests) to a full on market place for nearly anything digital.

For example, I think requiring everyone to put keys that come from bundles in Spoiler tags would help clean up the thread a lot.

There are more and more non-Steam items showing up. Either restricting non-Steam items, or also having them in spoiler tags would be nice. Or perhaps renaming the thread or moving the trading activity to a new general digital games/software trading thread would be better. It seems this thread needs either a rename or a split into separate Group Buy and Trading threads anyway.

I think in terms of prices people can do what they want, the trades only happen if both sides are willing.

But it would be nice to try and clean up the thread a bit.

Also, where does the activity in this thread stand with respect to the SSA?

Edit: Also, a rule/guideline about deleting an older post when you have a newer one with the same but updated information would be nice. Suddenly remembered that was the other thing I was going to say as I was deleting my older Have/Want post :)

My impression when i started to use thread - it was for buy/sell/trading Steamgifts/steamkeys - its pretty much open slather at the moment. Is there a general digital trading thread at all?.Maybe split it into Steam and Non Steam trading?.And yes a general FAQ would be nice.

I really like the idea of bundle keys going in a spoiler tag. A lot actually. The only issue with this is people probably cant cnt-F search for them on each page then. But still they are still so easy to find everywhere that I would prefer them tucked away.

CTRL+f still works for hidden keys. What happens is the page will jump to the location then you have to unhide them and they will be highlighted.

I think some guidelines would be nice but I hate to restrict things too much as the ease and flexibility of the thread is a big part of the appeal.

I'm ok with nonsteam items so long as they are labeled. This thread gets good traffic and they all seem to be digital items which we can't sell elsewhere.

We do occasionally get some rules on here (see the gamersgate issue). I think we should restrict rules for those cases that are common and where buyers could really get screwed. The issue on the last few pages is more of a buyers choice.

We just need to make sure when 3.0 arrives, we have distinct threads for group buys, B/S/T-ing, and probably even one specifically for bundle keys.

Any way it's done, it'll be a lot easier to enforce/encourage thread segregation (take that crap to the right thread, yo) than the formatting of people's posts (your bundle keys are supposed to be spoiler'd)

FYI, this does not work on Opera. It will only find the text if it is already unhidden. If it's under the spoiler tag and not shown, Opera's CTRL+F search won't find it.

Of course, I might be the only one here who actually uses Opera... :)
