There's two new Target Cartweel App Coupons for Indiana Jones Raiders of the lost ark Metal Pak for 10% off and true detective Steelbook for 15% off both expire 06/06/15
Thanks for the heads up on the Cartwheel discount for the True Detective steelbook!

Think you mean Mondo :whee:

So glad that Target is getting some of these. If only the Drive and Dredd versions will get a release here as well.
Guess I'm going to double-dip on SOTD steelbooks, since I have the Reel Heroes one as well. I didn't pick up the Comic Con orange cover version since that was BD + UV DC only and it didn't look as good as the Reel Heroes one.

Feh.

Man the mondo artworks are awesome. I just wish they put it on better movies.
Drive and Dredd aren't good movies?

Have there been any Zavvi 10% coupons floating around that work? There's often a 10% off but I haven't been sent any none online seem to be working. Any have any person codes they don't plan on using?

Any word on the a steelbook ver for the Walking dead season 5 yet

Thanks, let us know when you hear something.
Best I have to work with:

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Walking-Dead-The-Complete-Fifth-Season-Blu-ray/114948/

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Walking-Dead-The-Complete-Fifth-Season-Blu-ray/114949/ ("special edition" from McFarlane toys, like past releases)

http://www.blu-ray.com/search/?quicksearch=1&quicksearch_country=US&quicksearch_keyword=walking+dead+fifth+season&section=bluraymovies (BluRay.com search link)

Release date is August 25th, so we have 2.5 months before release. Check Target from time to time for "steelbook" on their website.

That's all I can offer.

Picked up one of the two True Detective steelbooks at my local store.  Glad I did, it looks really nice and the show is supposed to be great.

So what is the deal with the other Target-exclusive Mondo steels?  Are they website only or will they be available in-store like True Detective?  The website pages are kind of confusing because they seem to indicate both.

The show is some of the best stuff HBO has put out in a while, so it's worth it IMO.

I ended up not getting my True Detective steelbook shipped out yet, even though I pre-ordered it, so I canceled the old order and made a new one when most of the stores in the area were OOS on it. Plus, it had dropped to $34.99 and my order hadn't yet. We'll see if that pans out.

I think the Flash Gordon and Shaun Of The Dead Mondo steels should be in-store as well as online. Target does do a rolling auth on the purchasing credit card if you order it online, so if you can deal with it, pre-order it to (theoretically) have a backup source for it. Since Target hasn't shipped out two of my most recent online preorders at or before release date, I'm not very pleased with them. Last three were Paddington (shipped a week late), American Sniper (shipped in advance of release date) and True Detective (didn't ship up to today).

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of signing up for the Red Card and preordering all the Mondo steels. There is actually a third announced one for The Thing too (there's a huge thread on BR.com about it). My only concern is Target packaging on steelbooks and how much protection they offer.

Here's the web page for The Thing:

Awesome artwork, not awesome price...

If those three for Target are #006 - #008, where are #001 - #005?
For some reason this line is bouncing between (formerly Futureshop now BBY Canada) and Target US. #00-05 were Canada and revealed tomorrow for Canada will be #09

#00 Drive

#01 Looper

#02 Boyhood

#03 Rambo First Blood

#04 Pan's Labyrinth

#05 Dredd

If you knew that and are wondering why they arent released here? Will Target ever get 0-5? Why havent they? Who knows..maybe its rights issues

It is a rights issue for #00-05, they are all released by different companies here in Canada then they were in the US.

#00 Drive - Sony in the US, eOne in Canada

#01 Looper - Sony in the US, eOne in Canada

#02 Boyhood - Paramount in the US, Mongrel Media in Canada

#03 Rambo First Blood - Lionsgate in the US, Mongrel Media in Canada

#04 Pan's Labyrinth - New Line (aka Warner) in the US, eOne in Canada

#05 Dredd - Lionsgate in the US, eOne in Canada

Now why did Canada not get #06-08 but Target is? Not a rights issue because they are Universal on both sides of the border. My money is on Mondo hates us Canadians.

We shall see what company is behind #09 as we are finding it out tomorrow and it's Best Buy Canada and not Target.

All that extra innovating takes more time. ;)

I shop on Mondo for art prints and have been following those releases since the very start, unable to order any of them off of futureshop.ca bc they won't ship to America.  I'm just happy that the Mondo steelbooks are finally being sold here in the US.  It sure seemed like they were not able to sell them here because of publisher distribution rights.  So go Target, score another win for them.

I am still going to buy #00-04 at some point, whenever the price is right.  It's just silly to be spending $35-39 on a single steelbook for movies we already own.

Well the True Detective Season 1 Steelbook is also Mondo artwork.  I caved and purchased it today, came out to be around $34.xx with the Cartwheel coupon.  It was one of my favorite seasons of TV ever and I figured it might as well is worth the purchase.  It's the first time I've ever bought a season of any show physically.

To summarize the last few posts. All 3 are Target exclusives, releasing July 28th. #007 and #008 say available in-stores.

Mondo #006 - Flash Gordon

Mondo #007 - Shaun of the Dead

Mondo #008 - The Thing

There's also apparently a Chappie Steelbook coming out June 16th at Target, but it's not on their site.

Well, since the Flash Gordon shows as online only, I ordered all three. I really like the True Detective Mondo, and these look great.

Monodo #09 is Terminator 2 (BBY Canada Exclusive)

Does the True Detective Season 1 Steelbook come with a UV Code

Since the three movie Mondo steelbooks are all releasing on the same day at Target, I canceled my separate pre-orders and did one order for all three.  That should hopefully ensure Target ships them in a box and not a bubble mailer.  That is assuming they don't ship them individually, which I wouldn't be surprised if Target did.

I got my  Spongebob movie steelbook from GoHasting  it looks good

I don't know if I could handle only having T2 as a Steelbook. I'd need to find other versions for the rest of the movies (if they even exist)!

Agreed. Would be nice, plus the first five Mondo ones as well.
You guys are mad you are getting 3 and then not getting the ones before and after (although there is certainly a good chance there will be more in the future).

Us Canadians are mad that we aren't getting the three in the middle. Makes you wonder why Mondo wouldn't just work out the potential rights issues (which really only plague the Canadian ones, the US ones are Universal here also so it should be hard to work out that deal) and make these release on both sides of the border.

I'm not mad, just don't understand the logic of splitting up a set that's only been in Canada to date and is proceeding past back to Canada for one more.

I would like to think it should be all or none.

To make things more confusing, #010 coming to Best Buy Canada, to be announced June 12th.

My fear is given the close announcement, this is a July release. Meaning there will be four Mondo Steelbooks in July. I hope for everybody's wallets who are collecting these that it's actually an August release.

Thankfully steelbooks are one of those things that I like to collect, but mostly in the $10-15 price range. I absolutely don't feel the need to shell out $30-40 dollars for some alternate artwork in a metal case. These Canadian Mondo Steelbooks are the perfect example. I'll just have to make due without them. I make exceptions for things like Boyhood, where I might buy it for $30 just because the movie itself will already set me back $20. Another issue is that I won't buy regular versions of blu rays like Boyhood when I know there's a steelbook version I want. So sometimes you end up waiting to purchase movies you want.

You'd have to be pretty well off to be spending $40 import prices on everything that comes out, all willy-nilly. I waste a ton of money on my media collection as it is.

Ditto, and I've resisted buying anything from Zavvi because they just cost more than I want to spend. Unless it's a movie I really really like and possibly don't already own.

I collect the Disney stuff off of Zavvi but feel guilty at the $30 average as well, especially considering DMR and Digital Copies don't work. One thing I can say that's positive is that the few times there's minor damage to case they are always willing to discount a lot rather than make me return it overseas.

They never discounted me. They dented a bunch when they used those envelopes or whatever they switched to. Anytime I asked for anything, they sent me a generic email.

What are the chances of seeing a Jurassic World steelbook or a Jurassic park 1-3 and world steelbook bundle

I would hold off on looking for that bundle, there is plenty of room for a sequel to Jurassic World. :)
