Storage Problem: How many blocks for games do you have stored?

I only got my Wii in February and haven't bought too much stuff. I keep hoping I'll find some magical sale or clearance on points cards. Plus I've been trying to force myself to finish the VC games I've already bought before I buy others and lose interest in my current ones.

Weirdly enough, sitting at 1287 free blocks, I'm still feeling restricted by the small space. Every generation of video games, my parents would do that thing all CAGs hate - make me sell old systems because "only one game console can be in the house." So, I really want to download some of those old games that I played, and counting up the storage space of those games I want, I can't even get them all. I think I'm pretty modest in terms of the amount of games (~15) I want - most of them simply happen to be for N64. Boo.

I've got a nice summer job, now, so limited Wii space, here I come!

Like with what lilboo's saying, I'd be completely happy with a firmware upgrade to let my wii read directly from the sd card, that way I'd be able to dump all my shit onto it without having any worries. Damn, I have a GB sd card and that's about 14,000 blocks.....
I just found out something really disturbing :(

I have 433 blocks in SAVE DATA. SAVE DATA.
This is SAVE DATA that:
1) Are from games that I still frequently play
2) Are from games that the SAVE DATA will not copy, so I refuse to delete it

This is really disturbing. It's one thing to delete 2 games to make room for one more..but do they really expect us to delete our save files? Keep in mind 128 of those blocks are JUST from Smash Bros and another 120somethin JUST from the save data on The Nintendo channel..but the other 200 are from all these other games :bomb:
Is there a way to check this or did you manually count?

I believe I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 300-400 free blocks, but I deleted several N64 games to make room for Wiiware games.

Because I was home sick today and I really had nothing else to do. I too had like 4-5 pages. It really only took me 5 minutes though.

But that's the thing.. this 433 is what's cloggin up my damn system. Right now on my menu I have the Nintendo Channel, Wii Fit Channel, MK Channel, My Life as a King, TV Show King, Lost Winds, Pop, Sin & Punishment, and like 3 other VC games (Mario Bros 3, Mario World..and something else..)

I have like 100'ish blocks.
If save files keep getting big AND are non transferable, deleting GAMES won't help much at all.

Okay I just looked and have 8 pages to count. If we take 15 (number of saves per page) and multiply by 8 pages and double it (averaging each save is 2 blocks) then I have at least 240 of save data blocks. I averaged out to 2 because most of the saves vary from 1-4, with some bigger ones like Endless Ocean at 34. Add on the big saves like Elebits and Brawl at 109 and 128, then I have an estimated 477 at least. How interesting.

It's really disturbing, isn't it?
Elebits can't be transfered to an SD card either, mirite?

See. The SAVE DATA is going to be the problem in all of this. :whistle2:k

I don't think save data will be much of a problem for most people though. Your average Wii owner probably only has 2 pages. I credit my 8 pages to the 20+ VC games I've bought combined having a chip.
