MIAMI BEACH, Fla.-- Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was shot in the leg early Sunday during a party hosted by Grammy-winning hip hop artist Kanye West, police said.

Knight, 40, was hospitalized in good condition, police said. He was shot during a celebrity-studded party at the Shore Club, one of the many celebrations in Miami Beach ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards scheduled Sunday night, said Miami Beach Police Officer Bobby Hernandez.

Sonja Mauro, a guest at the club, said a shot in the party's VIP section rang out shortly before 1 a.m.

"I was in there and I heard a pop and I ran out and got trampled," she said.

People attending the party began screaming and running for the doors, she said.

Celebrities who attended included West, actress Jessica Alba and comedian Eddie Murphy, but it was unclear whether they were still there when the shooting took place.

Knight co-founded the pioneering rap label Death Row Records and hit the charts in the 1990s with West Coast stars including Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur.

Knight was convicted in 1992 of assault and weapons violations and was placed on probation. In 1996, he was jailed for five years for violating probation after he and several associates, including Shakur, were recorded on videotape beating a gang rival at a Las Vegas hotel. Shakur was later shot to death in Las Vegas.

Relatives of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. have also accused Knight of involvement in B.I.G.'s death, though police have never named Knight as a suspect.

Knight continues to operate his label, now called Tha Row. Attempts to reach a spokesman for West early Sunday were unsuccessful. A message left with an MTV representative was not immediately returned.
this is one person that i would definitely say that about
you know, i was thinking the exact same thing but i didn't want to get bitched at for saying it.
You gotta be a stupid motherfucker to shoot him and not kill him.
Yeah. Man I hate that guy :whistle2:x

He's gonna be pissed

His threats of violence are the only thing keeping Vanilla Ice at bay. Don't complain.

and a bad shot. i mean, there is a lot of him to hit. they could have at least shot his stomach or something.
Thank God nothing happened to Jessica Alba.
i dunno...maybe if she was mangled a little bit, i'd have a better chance of getting her...maybe a gunshot to the face would lower her standards...i'd take jessica alba w/ both arms and legs missing

And all you'd need is a small duffel ... or maybe one of those little red wagons. ;)
not surprising. too bad he didnt die.
I feel the same way. Hopefully a nurse pees into his IV bag
i heard 2pac lives inside of suge
Nah. He lives up-state New York in an apartment with Jim Morrison and Elvis.

This is very fishy to me & i'm 99.9% sure it was a hired gun.

When you shot someone in the leg it is NOT considered attempted murder & is the difference between spending 25+ years in prison as oppose to less than 5 years.

It's gonna be interesting to see how this unfolds & which names are dropped.

Eh... with these rap beef shootings, it's common knowledge that they hire gang members as hired guns. And, as you can imagine, they're terrible shots.

Then again, Knight might have pulled this to look "hard" or something equally as ignorant.

See I might think that but i'd never say it. Imagine if Suge happened upon this board and sent someone to off you. He's one of the few people that actually frightens me. Frankly I'm glad no one was hurt seriously. My brother was right outside, waiting to get some autographs or something. Maybe trying to get in. Who knows. But I wouldn't want him getting hurt, so no gunfire please.

Good. I'm almost positive that he hired a hit on Tupac.

1. 2Pac was leaving Death Row Records. His album,"Don Killuminati : The 7 Day Theory", was the last album he had to record for them, and he was going to start up his own record company called "Makaveli Records" with fellow rappers "Tha Outlaw Immortalz."

2. If Tupac left, Death Row would lose a shitload of money. If they killed 2Pac, everything related to him would be worth a ton, and they would still be in possession of all his unreleased songs.

3. Death Row Records was very uncooperative with the police after 2Pac's death. On many occasions, the police and newsreporters couldn't even find people on Death Row Records to question. ABC finally landed an interview with Suge Knight after the shooting, and when he was asked if he would tell the police who the shooter was if he knew, Suge replied "Absolutly Not".

4. "Kadafi", one of the members of Tha Outlaw Immortalz, was reportedly going to cooperate with the police. He turned up dead soon after.

5. Death Row Records used the slogan "New & Untouchable" when the Makaveli album came out. Why are they suddenly"untouchable"?

6. If you turn the volume way up while listening to the Makaveli album, you'll hear someone say "Suge Shot Him" within the first 3 seconds of the intro. If you listen carefully, you can hear it just before the first bell.

7. I've heard that the night of the Tyson match, Suge Knight was caught on surveillance telling 2Pac to take off his bulletproof vest because it was too hot in the arena. 2Pac was always seen wearing a bulletproof vest, so why would Suge want him to take it off that night?

8. 2Pac was shot 5 times and Suge's head was grazed by a bullet. When asked about what happened after the shooting, Suge reportedly said that he drove to the hospital as fast as he could, and had a long, coherent conversation with Tupac. How could 2Pac have a "long, coherent" conversation while losing 22 oz. of blood?

i think 2pac got checked into UMC and if u live in vegas u know that is one of the worst hospitals

and ur 2pac conspiracy is done with, hes dead deal with it, if he was alive he wouldnt be letting eminem and 50 cent take over the rap game and use his vocals, and afeni shakur owns all most of pacs unrealesed shit now so suge only profits off the old records if he profits any for pac anymore

the stupidest thing i heard bout this is that someone thinks game was involved in it, and if game was involved he'd know better to shoot another blood especially another blood at the top of all bloods in LA, hes be dead by this weekend

Read it again you turd. I know he's dead. I just think that Suge hired someone to shoot him.

tupac's dead, but the most believed theory around here is orlando anderson was the one that killed him. he's probably linked to suge somehow.

Is he ever going to get killed. I mean he killed Tupac in the car in vegas so when will it be his turn.

IMO he had to at least get a glimpse of who was in the next car.

You're number six is wrong. They had a vocal analyst rip it apart and he said that he heard nothing like that. I think he said he heard that pac said don't stop till I reach the top or something about the top. I try to find the link.
