Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2

Hmmm last two movies I saw sucked to the point where i couldn't finish watching them

The Losers - Typical cliched characters, plot, wasn't even paying attention after the first 30 - 40 mins

Avalon - Movie has an alright concept, but I'm not a fan of slow paced movies and very minimal characterization. Crappy special FX too.

Predators - Pretty good. Adrien Brody was awesome and
a dude's spine gets ripped out while he's still alive
. I can accept this as logical reasons to enjoy the movie.

There's only 24 reviews posted, only one was rotten. I wouldn't call that a "fall."

kick ass feel good movie of the year!

was just a sheer pleasure to watch

its been a long time since i walked out after seeing a movie with that much of a wow on my face.

Predators.

I loved it. I will dismiss some of the flaws because it's a dude movie. It's all about killing and being badass. It does both awesomely.

Namely,
The Samurai Fight (which got some loud ass cheers in the theater and deservedly so) as well as the spine ripout

The Book of Eli It has all the movie elements that appeal to me: a post-apocalytic waste land, action, books, Mila Kunis, Gary Oldman. So why is it that the movie failed to keep me entertained for 2 hours? I really wish I could answer this question-- but I just can't.

Shutter Island.

Thought it was very good. The twist was super predictable--had guessed it very early on. But that didn't really lessen the movie. DiCaprio was fantastic.

Watched MOON for the second time on Tuesday. I fucking LOVE this movie, and I'm really bummed out that it doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it deserves. If you haven't seen it (or even heard of it) go rent it (or buy it); I honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed a film so much.

Here's the trailer, which, admittedly, gives away too much information, but it's the only way to catch a glimpse of the film...

Predators - liked it but felt kinda flat

I've had Moon on my netflix instant watch for some time now. Maybe I'll finally watch it this weekend.

Moon is one of the best sci-fi films in years. Watch. This. Movie.

Mama's Boy- I thought that Anna Farris' unique screen prescence was wasted in this mundane film. Also, the whole film unsuccessfully tries to channel one of my favorite novels, A Confederancy of Dunces.

Inception was amazing. The crowd tensed up at the end, and
a lot of people kept saying "fall, fall, fall!"
and applauded during the credits. I haven't been to a movie where the crowd cheered after it was over in a while.

Funny story though, they showed a preview for "Devil" prior to Inception, and the crowd seemed pretty into it, and when it flashed "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" on the screen, the audience let out a collective groan.. it was pretty funny.

/e: Also, The Town looks good.

Greenberg - it was nice seeing Ben Stiller in something other than a shitty comedy. It was also nice seeing Greta Gerwig's tits. All in all the movie itself was so-so. Nothing special.

Predators - Pretty solid, actually. After seeing Avatar, I wish there would have been some way that the producers/directors could have been given more money to create the type of world/environment that it had. The world's environment seemed to copy Hawai'i's just a bit too much ;) I enjoyed the plot/acting/story of this Predator film a great deal more than AvP 1 & 2, and it definitely felt like a return to form for the franchise. Certainly a watchable film, though I'd wait untill the $1 theatre or DVD unless you're a super fan of the franchise.

Inception - Absolutely fucking brilliant. All levels of awesomeness. I honestly couldn't find a thing wrong with the film: it was that good.
