Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2

A Day in the Life(directed by Sticky Fingaz)
a movie done all in Rap... it was ok, there are a few moments that are really nice, some are kinda... eh

2.9/5

Chocolate - 4/5 - Fun movie. Tony Jaa in Ong Bak was awesome, but when Jaa tried to direct Ong Bak 2 and now 3...I wondered wtf happened. Ong Bak and Tom yung goong were both full of great, fast/violent action scenes and coherent stories. Chocolate is directed by Prachya Pinkaew who also directed Tom yung goong & Ong bak. The action scenes are so much fun, slaughter house + throwing knives = hilarity.

Chocolate is worth a watch for those who like muay thai or modern martial arts movies. Definitely rent Chocolate instead of going to the theater for Ong Bak 3.

Deathly Hallows Part 1: 4/5

There's some great cinematography in this film. It also follows the book pretty closely except that it cuts out some of the boring stuff. There's a very nice pace to it and sets up Part 2 on a pretty ominous note.

Was it less boring than the last two? I absolutely hated the last two, but people are bothering me to see this. Should I avoid?

Will this be tougher to follow at times than the last one if I have not read the books?

I just didn't like the fact that she was like 12-14 years old beating up older guys, just doesn't seem believable, she'll probably be the next Tony Jaa though, great choreography.

The Last Airbender: 5/10
damn this movie is boring

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: 8/10
pretty cool

Scott Pilgrim as well. I was pleased with it is what I can say. At times I felt it was a bit cramped, but it does remind me about how quick life is, leaving me unable to stop and smell the flowers.

The Werewolf of Washington this morning. Man that really sucked, even if it did star Dean Stockwell.

RED - 10/10

Saw the previews and thought it would be good. Saw the movie and it was even better. Hilarious too. Helen Mirren delivered. The cast was great. Will be buying on Blu Ray.

Saw Exam last night. This could be the best movie I have seen all year or the worst. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if the question is what I think it is.

If you have seen this movie click on the spoiler tag.

The question I think it is, is are their any questions. Am I right on this or did I miss something?

Still catching up on Criterions.

The Wages of Fear
Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence
Breathless
The Night of the Hunter

The first and last ones were great, the middle 2 were alright.

127 hours - James Franco had a damn good performance. That one part though, the one you know that will happen...it's really really brutal. I'm not going to compare this movie to Slumdog Millionaire, it's very different.

Scott Pilgrim

I haven't had that much fun watching a movie in awhile. Watched it with my gamer fiancee' and we had a blast.

Side note: I streamed it using Amazon's video rental service and was pleased with the experience. I had no nitpicks about the quality and the transaction went without a hitch. Didn't have to download anything either.
Boondock Saints 2

it was amazing.
I watched this on Blu Ray and it felt like a bad homage to the first movie, which was awesome. I read at some point it was supposed to be part of a trilogy, lets hope the 3rd is better.

The last movie I saw that didn't suck was the Book of Eli.

Salt - 2/5 - if you mute the movie, could be some fun action. Sitting through the story, no thanks.

Black Friday - 2/5 - Had to watch this Gary Daniels movie yesterday. The movie has an amazingly awful special effect at the end which is hysterical. I just wish the rest of the movie was as entertaining. Who though using a dissolve transition 30+ times was a good idea.

The Karate Kid - 5 Stars
Pursuit of Happyness - 5 Stars
I Am Legend - 5 Stars
Freedom Writers - 5 Stars
American Gangster - 5 Stars
Grown Ups - Excellent movie
Click - Great movie

I haven't really watched Toy Story 3 so I can't say, but those are all some of my favorite movies and came out pretty recently.

The movie Hereafter with Matt Damon sucksss!

127 Hours last night. As you've all probably heard it was really good. Props to whoever was in charge of sound during the amputation scene. That made me squirm quite a bit.

Clarkson's Italian Job - it's Jeremy Clarkson, it was great

Top Gear Apocalypse - also great

The Winning Season - Sam Rockwell was hilarious. I'm still laughing about onion butt!

Pearl Harbor - 7/10

Hard movie to watch... But a good one.

Recently saw most of his stuff. EPIC, can't go wrong.

Punch Drunk Love
Powder Blue
Indy and the Crystal Skull. This movie started off great, this is the first time I've watched it @ home in HD since having a nervous breakdown upon watching in the theater. I've only watched up until the "your a teacher?/part time" quip. Other than nuking the fridge and some horrid CGI vistas during the area 51 scene this movie was okay until about that point. The opening credit hotrod deal, warehouse swing, first fight with the big Russian, and moto chase at the uni are all fine story beats.

I'm not a Potter fan but saw the new one with the family. It felt really sporadic and confusing, but it's action scenes were very impressive. Made a lot of other action focused movies look like trash.

Robin Hood.

Watched the director's cut on blu. Wasn't great, but was enjoyable. Liked it more than I thought I would from how bad most reviews were.

Scott Pilgrim

Excellent movie. Being the dork I am with no physical friends that aren't married, I never got past my OCD/pending depression of going to the movies by myself to see it in theatres so I got the Blu-Ray combo pack at WM on release (they had it for cheapest.) Was 99% sure I'd love it and I did.
Being the dork I am with no physical friends that aren't married,
I feel you man. Let me guess: they're married to control freaks that won't ever let them do anything? Effectively limiting how much you can actually get out and meet a girl for you to marry and be enslaved to?

I love that this was basically an encouraging diss.

I can't claim the last film I saw didn't suck.

I saw The Last Airbender and it was a complete nightmare. Just the fact that they had a cartoon to base this thing on, yet they butchered the name of every character was enough to kill it for me. (though it was not alone in its horror)

Terror Train-It's a 1980's slasher film set on a train, featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and David Copperfield..--that's right, David Copperfield, the magician--yet it still manages to be a slightly entertaining film. Definitely for fans of cheesy, mediocre slasher films.
Skyline - Goddamn did I want this to be good but it wasnt.....action was pretty cool but this movie went NO WHERE. Also, WTF was that ending?
Yeah, that ending was...special.

And Warrior's Way. It was okay. Not really what I wanted it to be. Action was good, but there wasn't enough of it.
