Tales from the Pawn Shop(s)!

Not pawn but Flea Market:

Splatterhouse 3 (Gen, complete)-$15
Power Glove (in box)-$10

Went to a pawn that said they have N64 games in the back (Starcraft, Mario Kart, MP1-3), but he was putting them on Ebay :(

I was looking around a local pawn shop today and found Devil May Cry 4 for the 360 for $15. The case was a little bit worn, but the disc and manual were great.

What the hell? Why would they even tell you that?

Cuz the guy was a dick. It wasnt the manager, but an employee.

Went to a few pawns today. Didn't find much. Passed on GoW2 for $5 & VF5 Online for $20. Did get 6x Viva Pinata Party Animals for $3.74 each tho.

That power glove dosn't work right. AVGN's video was right on. I can't get Mario to go left but I can get him to moonwalk : )

Have to give nintendo for tyring to revolutionize but I could probably control mario better with a toaster strapped to my arm than a power glove. At least the toaster brings toasted goodness to the table, whereas trying to eat the power glove will probably kill you from the toxins

I got a Power Glove as a gift once, but I never use it to play games. I just show my friends, and imitate Lucas from The Wizard, though it fails to impress them.

If you could use the power glove and actually play games well with it I would be damn impressed.

^^^^
Yah, I am hoping they make a power glove for the Wii, or if there was a way to make the Power Glove function correctly. That would be awesome...

20 for both!

Picked up Bionic Commando, Star tropics, Ninja Gaiden II, and Mega man 6, and a wrestling game compolete (on NES) for 20 bucks. Super Mario Kart for 6. Mega man X2 for 15. Most of the places around here use ebay and online resources as guides. I have to fight to even get NES games for less than 5 bucks, or more, usually. Kinda sucks. To this day I have never seen a copy of FF7 in a shop. A friend of mine used to see them a few years ago, since they are common and printed in mass quantity, but ever since advent they have dried up.

(Also a single disc 3 a few weeks ago for $5.)

This game sold, what, 9 million copies worldwide? If you had told me 5 years ago it was going to be a "rare" game, I would have laughed. A great game, yes, but not rare by any means.

GRANTED it is my favorite game ever (see avatar)..... I was considering buying a sealed GH copy a few years ago just for the collection but never did
Scored an OK find today. Got a NEW (never opened) Wireless black 360 controller WITH a black play & charge kit for $14.99.
OK? That's a great find considering that a Play & Charge Kit goes for $14.99 on it's own.

I have found 3 copies in the last year at pawnshops, but some idiot told the guy working there that they are worth $50 on ebay so now he takes them home, he has alot of copies.

At the local gamestore they used to always have them in stock at $13, but since advent shilderen they couldnt keep them in at 40 so they marked the price to $70 and they are piling up.

I also got DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, and Mobile suit Gundam wing: complete series and Ova's(worth $70 on Amazon)
Tetris $7
Donkey Kong 64 $3
I probably only would have paid $3 tops for Tetris.. seems like you over paid on that one..

DK64 is a good find for 3 bucks..

my pawns had nothing for me this week..

I picked up a complete copy of GTA san andreas for PS2 for about 3 bucks.. didn't need it.. but its always good on a trade list or something.

wow.. NES games shouldn't go that high... I probably would have left the Bionic commando (as its having a remake come out on X360/PS3 soon) but star tropics is underrated and you can't go wrong with the other 3.. the other ones seem a little high.. but can understand the ebay prices and such.

about the FF7..

I see copies of it floating around occasionally.. but its just one of those games that people do not want to give up because its that good. so its not a matter of it being "rare" it has more to do that people don't want to sell it.

much like a Suikoden or Earthbound.. the people who have them love them.
its just one of those games that people do not want to give up because its that good.
Ah, yes, I think we hit the nail on the head here :)

I remember seeing a Wii 1GB memory card for $10
is that a good find (don't have a Wii so i didn't think anything of it)
Plus when I was getting my DK64 and Tetris I saw behind the counter a copy of Mass Effect
they keep all untested games behind the counter, and since all 360 games are $15 I would jump at the chance to nab that

Tetris is one of those GB games that stands the test of time, $7 may not be a CAG price, but Tetris is one GB game that I would pay $10 for. I got 2 in a GB lot i got a a GS last year thogh so i dont need one.

That's not bad for the SNES, NES, N64, 360, or Ps3 games.

cool, the guy i got it for called me and said that he found out his supe scope is broken!! I just listed it on Game Gavel, If you want it PM me and we can decide on a trade/buy!!

Woot... Just got back from a pawn and found

PS1
Mega Man Legends (case itself is pretty dirty looking, but the back insert and manual is clean (though it does have USED written over the upc ) but the disc itself is a little scratched, nothing major though) $5
Saga Frontier (pretty much perfect) $5

:ps2:
Shadow Hearts Covenant (GS used sticker on case and OVER THE UPC ON THE PAPER:bomb:, manual looks a little worn, discs have a minor scratch and a smudge or two) $10.
My pawn shop has Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for $30. It is in a case from hollywood video, has no manual. but comes with a bonus disc. Should I get it?
I'd pass, but that's just me. RSV2 was practically the same as the first one....if you're planning on playing it that is.

I never played the first one. Should I get the first one instead? And where can I get it cheap?

Fatal Frame (Ps2, complete)-$11
Guitar Hero Dual Pack (complete)-$15
Air Force Delta Storm (Xbox, complete)-free
Zelda Collector's Edition (complete)-$10
King of Fighters 2002/2003 (Xbox, no manual)-$5

Had to pass on FFIX (gh, complete) for $5 cuz I had no more money.

Oblivion GOTY Edition 360 - $20 (complete, PERFECT condition!)

From an overpriced pawn shop I mentioned earlier that has $35 blu-ray's, for instance... I guess they finally got smart about their selection, because they had a few newer 360 games for $20 across the board, instead of $30 - $40. Guy told me they are trying a new pricing scheme, since none of their games are selling. What a shocker!

What's funny, is this Oblivion was right next to a regular Oblivion selling for $25 they have had for months

Which one was that?
Which one was that?
One down in St. Petersburg, Tampa is too far for me to go to pawn shop anymore ;)

Picked up:

Phantasy Star Universe (PS2) complete
R-Type Final (PS2) complete

for $7.99 each (talked 'em down from $9.99).

It's sad - I had my hands on Zone of the Enders 2. The box was complete with manual, but when I opened it up it was a PSM demo disc. I notified the people working there and they said there was nothing they could do. *sigh*

Went back to that same pawn shop I got Oblivion GOTY at yesterday, and picked up Bioshock for $20, complete and in perfect shape.

Odd how it's easy for me to find lots of 07 360 games and under easily, but I've yet to really find anything for 08.

I also want to know who are these people who are selling 360 games to pawn shops that cheap... you know they've got to be getting under $10 a piece for these.

Got Paperboy and Ninja Gaiden for NES. Ninja Gaiden was CIB.
I normally don't go to this store, but I did today. They were $5 each, most of the games were $10, but nothing was that amazing.

Some people are retarded. here they buy a game for $60 beat it and trade it in for $5 gas money at the pawn shop that is right down the road from the game store that would give them $32 credit. just a few weeks ago i got Mass Effect and they also had Army of 2 and Bioshock.
