Hey Segasonic01, I can make a Flea Market thread if you would like me to. I was thinking about it before, but I wasn't sure if everybody would like it. I think it would be awesome to make one.
My pawn shop has Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for $30. It is in a case from hollywood video, has no manual. but comes with a bonus disc. Should I get it?
Heh, the someone rented it and didn't return it.. Hollywood hasn't sent over copies of RSV2 to used yet.. hell, they haven't even done it to Dark Sector yet.

Go for it. I'm gonna go once every 2 weeks so I'll help keep it alive

WAIT!! You picked up Assassin's Creed, Jericho, Kane & Lynch and all of those other games for $45 and you're STILL not happy with what you paid? DAMN!! The idiots at my local flea markets would have each of those newer games priced @ $30 each, so consider yourself lucky.

The rest of that haul was just meh maybe, but the newer games for THAT cheap(if complete and scratch free) are something I'd LOVE to find THAT CHEAP.

No, I'm more than happy with the games. I was mehing about the fact that I always set out to spend no more than $20 but end up spending over double that. It was a great deal, i know. Especially since everyone else selling NES/SNES/N64 games wanted $3 each.

Do any of you think a Pikachu N64 with nothing but the system & power cord is worth $10? I almost bought one for that much. Offered the guy $7 but he wouldnt budge. He has the same stuff EVERY week for the SAME prices (or higher). You figure after 4+ weeks, he'd just wanna get rid of it.

He's probably one of those guys that thinks that the right person is going to come along and buy the stuff at his marked price. Honestly I took abunch of my old games to a fleamarket and got a booth last year and I had a pickachu N64 marked 25 and a vendor told me to bmp it to 70 and take best offers on it, so i did and people were offering $55 on it but i decidedto keep it.

this reminds me.. the other day my GF was watching that stupid "what not to wear" show and the girl was at a high end shop and didn't want to spend 399.99 on a pair of shoes (yeah and some of them women give us problems about our gaming rigs) and she haggled with the manager and got 10 percent off.. and the hosts were like "this is so embarrassing".. its like who cares the worse they can do is say "im sorry the price is non negotiable" ..

people and their "fashion" thats the death of america right there..

what did i want to say.. oh yeah.. anytime you get 360 games for 10 bucks or so is a good deal.

pawn shops are very much dead to me in seattle now. After a great run of 5 years , they have all caught up to ebay prices and are asking ridicilous amounts for even bad condition carts. The closest pawn shop to me has a cart only copy of super mario kart for 29.99 that appears to have been corroded by acid and left to rust.

funny thing is.. anytime the pawn shop here gets something with a controller (be it rock band or guitar hero.. ) they sell it for WAY MORE then they do just regular games..

for instance.. i need guitar hero 2 for the 360.. i saw it in there today with a controller for 65 bucks... but if it was just game only.. it'd go for 10-15.. although it is a good price.. i may go in next week to haggle down to possibly 50 bucks as i do need an extra controller.

I'm not sure if they still have it, but Gamecrazy was selling the GH2 360 bundle for $50 new.
I have never been to a pawn shop. I wonder if there even is one close to me.
yea theyre usually located in shady parts of town where I live, and I rather buy new games at retail stores. If they dont make the game anymore, and I'm forced to by used, ill probably do it at ebgames (though I rarely buy used games anyhow)
i got a copy of final fantasy 9 for 5 bucks. The game looks brand new but it had no manual
Not bad if it was non-gh.

I wanna go tomorrow to see if this one pawn still has a black label DMC 5th anniversary set for $15. They got it April 1st so I wanna offer $10 for it. idk if the pawns are open tomorrow though.

it sucks the pawn shop owners are so lazy around here. i was out yardsaling and i thought i'd make a few pawn visits. like four outta five shops had signs saying that they were closed from friday to monday in honor of the holiday. yeah it sucks bad. lazy bums

Ya we finaly got a Pawnshop in my town last fall, I had to drive to Fort Wayne before then, Our new shop is in the best part of town right by Starbucks and inbetween the two richest houseing developments(that's cool becasue kids can trade in the week old 360 games their parents just bought them for spending cash!!)

Do they sell the games for cheap.
What are good places in fort wayne. My stepdad's whole family lives in Huntington and we have to go there every christmas. Figure I'll do some game hunting next christmas because its so fucking boring.

For anyone looking for Pawn Shops, here is a site I use if Im going somewhere (travel) to see if there will be a pawn shop anywhere near.

There will be more in the area probably, but this can at least get you started.

http://www.pawnshops.net/index.htm

just click on Shops USA, find the state and then places in the state will pop up. The nice thing is they list if they are ebay sellers also (avoid!!).

That sucks, you're missing out on a hell of a lot of good deals... I save at least $20 - $40 over Gamestop's prices when I get my 360 games at pawn shops, and they are in BETTER condition since the pawn shop is a lot more strict in what they take in.

Hell, even on PS2 / Xbox games, I save about $10 - $15 on Gamestop's prices.

I'll keep getting my games for $10 - $20 though, and you keep paying $50 - $60, and I'll take my trip into the "bad" part of town... where the people are nicer than the ones in Gamestop.

Amen Brotha!! I would lots rather pay my $10 for a mint condition Mass Effect from the pawnshop owner that acts like a normal human than go to EB and get treated like a retard by people that think they are smarter than me because they played GTA IV a day before it was out.

I made my worst decision of the week today. I was out of town and saw an EZPawn so I stopped in, I got a copy of Kingdom heart, and a copy of Kingdome Hearts II for $5 apiece.

The bad decision was that I passed up Metal Gear Solid GBC for 4.99. I tried to talk them down to $2 but they said that they have a policy to keep all the GB/GBC games at 4.99 because they are still to popular...WTF????

I check Metal Gear GBC on ebay when i got home and saw that it is hard to find...oh well maybe it will still be there next time in out that way.

I haven't been to a pawn shop yet but almost all of them say jewelry and have jewelry by the window . I saw a few today while driving.

not from the pawn shop but the fleamarket. I got a Hori PS1 arcade stick for three bucks.

Went ahead & went on my 3rd & final route for the month. Nothing great, but decent. I got:

Captian America & the Avengers-$2
FF Crisis Core-$10
Halo 3-$15 (will prolly sell if I find the CE at Sears for $15)
2x Plug N Play Genesis systems-$2 each
Zelda OOT/Master Quest (disc only)-$5
Metal Gear Solid (GBC)-$5

All PS2/Xbox/Gcn games were 3 for $15. Picked up Silent Hill 2 (PS2), Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2), and Castlevania Lament of Innocence (PS2).
Yeah, that MvsC2 was an amazing find.

At a local pawn shop, I passed on it for now
Rockband 360 game only mint $15 that's worth about $40 on ebay or 1000 Goozex pts
Oblivion 360 $15 as well, worth about 450 pts

Also saw Ninja Gaiden Black for $6 and Sid Meirer's Pirates for $8 (might just get these for my collection or as trading fodder)

I guess I'll post what I passed up in case any CAGs want them next time I go out

Wired guitar for 360-$25
Resistance-$15
Mario Party 3-$20 HAHA
Dr Mario 64-$20 HAHA
Dragon's Lair 3D (disc only)-$5
Me & My Katamari-$12
Silent Hill Origins (game & manual only)-$11

Edit: NES Advantage-$8
various NES games-$3 each

Get me Resistance :D

I just realized something. This past week of pawn hopping & a flea market trip, after gas, money spent on games, & $1 to park, I have spent $161 (give or take $10). However, I have made back $250, giving me about $89 profit. And thats not counting the 10 NES, 2 SNES, 1 GBC, 3 360, & 2 Xbox games that I decided to keep. Let this be an encouragement for those of you that say they dont like/want to go to pawns.

I would love to hit up some pawn shops around me if I had any clue where they are because I looked in my phone book and there is nothing really listed...

Today i got fo $16.05 after tax.
Mario Party
Mario Party 3
Mario Kart 64
Super Mario 64
Magical Tetris Challenge.

I got mario kart double dash, .hack infection both $10 each both mint and mario rpg snes for $5 also mint. over all i payed $25 for all of it. This isn't a common thing but it has happened to me a few times getting rares for cheap. I even thanked them. luckily my pawnshop still accepts old games
Nice. I'm jealous of the Mario Party. How come no one ever fids 2?! You can sell Mario Kart & make all that back.
I could make $16 from any of those mario games!! they all average out at abotu $20 on Ebay last i checked, I may list the ones i already have on Game Gavel. The only problem with them is that the guy at the Pawn knew i would buy them so he held them for me and decided to wash them with windex...including the labels so some of them have small blurs in the ink. not bad but noticable to the OCD gamer in me.

Finally went to a Pawn Shop, been eying it since I've been here but never had the time to stop by. Well they only had one gamecube game, something with scooby doo for $16.00. I think blockbuster across the street as the same game with a manual for 6.99. *sign*

Don't give up on them, check back on a few week's and see if they have more games, and if they don't ask about games, some pawnshops wont buy things they don't think people are interested in. If they know there is a market for games they will buy as many as possible.

When I searched yellow pages for "pawn shops" I got listings for "Pawnbrokers" in my area and most of them had the word Jewelry in the store titles.Would any of these be pawn shops or do your locations pretty much say "Pawn" on them?

Thanks

My dad visits a pawn shop occasionally (same place I get most of my games), looking for stereo equipment, but he told me that he saw an NES there for 12 bucks.
I've already got one, but if it's still there tomorrow morning I'll grab it.

Picked up ICO for $6.45. It came complete and after a little rubbing alcohol, the case looks like new. :)

Passed up Amplitude for the same price. Should I have gotten it?
