Tales from the Pawn Shop(s)!
Passed on TMNT Tournament Fighters for $2
I'd highly recommend this if you've never played it, assuming it's the SNES version. IMO the best console only 2D fighter of the 16-bit era. Sure is a hell of a lot better then Eternal Champions!

All complete (outside of Final Fantasy IX which is missing manual and Lunar, which is missing extras). All $5 apiece. An absolute incredible find that ends my pawn shop drought. This was at a pawn I almost didn't go to, but I decided to check it. I was told Valkyrie Profile had been there for a few days and it right on top of the PS1 stack. 'Nuff said
Got these today:
Family Dog (SNES, cart only, no back label)-$2
Sonic Labyrinth (cart only)-$3
Ico-$10 (gonna stick this on Ebay with SotC)
Soul Nomad: The World Eaters-$5
Chrono Cross (Black Label, complete)-$5
Final Fantasy IX (Black Label, no manual)-$5

Passed on TMNT Tournament Fighters for $2, Zelda:LTTP for $3, Land of the Dead for $8. Heavenly Sword for $20, & DMC4 (PS3) for $20.
I keep wishing our local two pawn shops would sell stuff for these prices, since they are like Gamestop and pay shit to the people getting rid of the stuff, but their idea of a 'deal' on a PS3 game is $40.

I just hope my one friend printed up a copy of that Gamestop 25% off coupon for me, so I can grab Heavenly Sword for $24 something out the door for PS3.
If you want HS, I can go back & get it for one of your HD DVD players :D
I only had ONE left and I took that one and the dead one I found out I had back to the store, where they marked the good one $5. But, do some research on the drives, they have a 30% or so fail rate. You'd be taking a BIG chance with the drive.

I don't have ANY way to test it, since my 2-3 yr old pc is too slow for it and I don't have a 360 to test it on.
Trap Gunner (complete)-$6

Did I just buy the only non-rare Atlus PS1 game?!
its a good game regardless.. its a good bomberman esque game

I had a few pawn shop finds today:

We Love Katamari - $9
The Office (British) - The Complete First Series - $8
Chrono Cross Music Selection CD - $0.50 (the case for this is worth the 50 cents alone)

Thank you, I was freaking out when I found it. I stood next to the case and actually comteplated breaking the case as I was worried someone in line already was going to grab them:) There is soo much competetion in my area that this is not a normal find. I can usually find a few rare games here and there (like Iron Storm a few weeks back), but 4! Valuable games and 2 semi valuable games at a high trafficked pawn (one of the most popular in town) is uterlly amazing. The funny thing is, the lady who helped me recognized because I have been shopping there for years and gave me Final Fantasy VII for $5 (though it was marked $10) and joked with me about me buying the last copy of Final Fantasy VII they had. Its going to be a while until I have another find in this league, however I am may be purchasing a bunch of cheap ass Saturn and DC imports (around $5 apiece) that will be somewhat close.

Was this a Tampa one or St. Pete?

I'm lucky in the fact that I showed up at the right time, I believe this is a pawn you traffic (along with a bunch of other people like our flea market friend) quite a bit. I left a few good PSOne games that I sent a friend to get. He's been looking forever for a good PSOne haul and now he has it.

You dont have a monopoly yet, I still got a bit of time left until I leave:)

Nothing this week, I think enough stimulous checks came in the last week that no one was taking stuff to the pawns.

I got MGS1 (complete, black label, both discts perfect) for just 4.85. They had Gran Turismo 2 but ever since i finished MGS4 i was dying to buy the old MGS games. :D

Went to one of my favorite pawns today and was pleasantly surprised to find a good, 3-week-old PS3 game there:

Battlefield: Bad Company - $20

Couldn't believe it when he said $20, especially since he had a copy of CoD 4 there a couple weeks ago marked at $45. Guess he prices based on popularity more than actual value.

Last week I bought 50 CD's for $50 and carted them over to an FYE and received $150 in trade for them. I used $100 in credit to get Samurai Champloo new. I also got:
Mario Party 7 (GC)
Mario Party 5 (GC)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC)
Paper Mario (GC)
Pokemon Channel (GC)
-Each $5.

Sorry, my wording was unclear, I got the GameCube games at the pawn shop. I wish FYE had game prices like that, I would definitely shop there more.
Chrono Cross Music Selection CD - $0.50 (the case for this is worth the 50 cents alone)
Wow, it's rare to see any sort of VGM outside of the internet. Well done!

I once found the Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale CD in the bottom of a discount bin at a used book store. I nearly crapped myself. It was a bootleg Taiwan version, but STILL, it's next to impossible to find something like that in the wild.

The reason FYE has higher prices then a Pawn is because the Pawn takes them in at a price and sells at a price, they only want to move product, it is to time consuming to individualy price games. FYE is a store where games are a huge part of the store, and they sell at market prices.

Except for Cash America pawn. Those bastards use Gamestop for game prices and Amazon for BD pricing.

my CA's vary. The closer one to me has all xbox,ps2,gc games for $6, all 360 games $20, & PS3 $25. The worst for me is Value Pawn. They use GS for their pricing and then mark it $3 lower (for example, Mario Tennis for $36.99(.
Picked up .hack Quarantine w/o DVD for 7.99 + tax. Is it the DVD that makes it expensive or the game?
Probably both, as I don't remember seeing the DVD available anywhere else, but the game itself is also fairly hard to find.
Except for Cash America pawn. Those bastards use Gamestop for game prices and Amazon for BD pricing.
There are 3 cash america's in my local City, and they have great deals, but they tend to each have their high points, one sells all 360 games for atleat 39.99(they say it's company policy and they can't drop them) and the rest sell then for 7.99 plus. I have gotten some of my pest pawn deals at Cash America,

My fave pawns:

EZ Pawn - Who can argue with $1 nes games, and $5 PS2 stuff, my only problem is that one of the workers hordes all the games that have a E-bay value of 9.99 or more.

Cash america - depending who is at the counter, for some reason pawn shop chicks always cut me sweet deals.(once I was standing at the counter and the girl working was telling the customer in front of me that game prices arent negotiable, but as soon as i got to the counter she said sir, i can give you half off all those items) weird stuff. I got several copies of pikmin 2 for $5-$7, and other great stuff. They also give free resurfaces.

Had some incredible finds today:
Uncharted - $20
GTA IV - $20
This was from the same pawn that I got BF: BC for $20, so I'm pretty sure they're my favorite now. By the way, everything was mint/complete.

Have been visiting pawn shops out of random and found

FFVII (Black Label)-$3
Marvel vs Capcom (DC)-$3

I already got FFVII and this other one I found is in awesome condition so I figure I'll ebay it and use the money to buy the upcoming SC.

I got Adobe Photoshop 6 for MAC and it isn't registered for two dollars This is gonna fund my new 320 gb PS3 hard drive.

I went into a pawn today & almost shit myself like i do when I see Sonic stuff. I got all these mint/complete/non-GH PS1 games:

NBA Jam TE (longbox)-$4
PO'ed (longbox)-$4
Ridge Racer (longbox)-$4
Vagrant Story-$4
Silent Hill-$10
The Adventures of Lomax-$8
total:$34.00

I left Fatal Fury Ambition ($10), Capcom vs SNk ($8), Heart of Darkness ($8), FF Chronicles ($8), FFIX ($8), and a ton of other ones (MK Trilogy, Spyros, Crashes). Might go back for FF:A or CvS later.

I walked into my local pawn today to see only sports games left, aparently the owner of the local ethanol plant came in and decided to buy up about 50 games.....weird, makes me wonder if we are getting a new game store in town.

I went to USA pawn where I got the $3 tetris ds and all they had was viva pinata marked $20, some crappy sports games, and a GTA. >_
Not huge finds, but here's what I picked up this week:
......
3x Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence guide $5.99
all were previously Target clearance

Ahh those weren't worth $6 you should try and get your money back =P
Just bumping this to point out for my own humor what a difference a sequel and a few months can make.

Last saturday I picked up a nice lot of NES games for $4 each.
Final Fantasy
Dragon Warrior II
Dragon Warrior III (First time I've seen this in the wild)
Mario Bros. 2
Mario Bros. 3
Mike Tyson's Punch Out
River City Ransom

I also picked up the entire series of Miami Vice on DVD for $49.

Picked this stuff up at work today:

I take so much advantage of my employee straight-up-trade benefits:

Me Takey - Me Givey

Metal Gear Twin Snakes GC for Naruto 2 GC
Mario Kart DD for Dr Muto GC
Zone Enders 2nd Runner for DBZ Tenkaichi 2 ps2
New Super Mario Bros DS for Jam Sessions DS
Zelda Twilight Princess Wii for Zack & Wiki Wii
Final Fantasy Crisis Core for Mortal Kombat Unchained

Inuyasha Season 3 DVD box for Seinfeld Season 3 DVD box

Mega Man (Game Gear, cart only)-$4

Passed on Soul Nomad ($15) & Ico ($15). I asked if they'd do $20 for both but they said $25 so I left them.

Mr. Sonic sir

1. Empty your PM box!
2. Any chance on trading that Mega Man?

I just got a complete, minty Sonic Triple Trouble today if that tempts you any...... (see yard sale thread)

Best deal since I started at the shop:

PSP Slim System w/metal gear portable ops plus & 4GB memory stick - $53.50

We only gave the guy $25 for it, and I get to buy at double cost, as long as I don't ebay the stuff. Looks like the old PSP is about to say goodbye!
