This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to get a cheap copy of Heavenly Sword. I borrowed and finished the game in less than a week (which is why I'm unwilling to pay $40+ for it) but would like a copy of my own - especially at $14.98 - to replay. After scouring every Target that I could see from the freeway (6 of them!) between my apartment and my parents' house, I could not find a single one. :T Now I'm just hoping for another 25% off used PS3 coupon at GameStop.

went back to the target that had Heavenly Sword before the price drop. now its all gone.

This isn't the trading forum, don't post these here, all it does it clutter up the thread.


As for Target drops, I stopped at another store in this area and there was nothing new. This is almost a full month with very few drops and almost nothing new added to the clearance section. Bad times! :cry:

:lol: I'm in the same exact boat. Rented it, beat it and love it. I want a copy of my own but am not paying more than $15-$20 for it. I've checked four different Targets. They all went when it dropped to $30.

Picked up Puzzle Quest for the DS for $7.48 and Tony Hawks Proving Ground for the 360 for $9.99. Also they had nearly 100 copies (no sarcasm) of Crash of the Titans for $4.98.

Stopped by Target in Chantilly. They didn't have much, but they had quite a few Jackass and Beavis and Butthead UMDs on sale for $3.48. Might be able to turn that around for a little profit.
 
I got a Polaroid portable DVD player for $32.48 (Model#PDX-0073C). The reviews I've seen online for it indicate it's a piece of garbage with only a 90 day warranty though, so I'm not sure if I'll keep it.
 
Found someone's hidden The Club(PS3), which rang up out of the system. Cashier asked me for the price at the checkout, told her $7.48. Fair enough.
 
Got the last copy of HS in Manassas, VA for $15, although the Gainesville store had one copy at $30 (they may have not done the markdowns as I was there real early).

I know this is off topic, but Target is clearancing off a lot of Lego sets and Transformer toys also. I may be able build that addition on my house with just Legos now.
 
All copies of HS mysteriously disappeared on Monday when I went to check. Probably got scalped sometime between opening and me getting off work.

It has to be the bundle. I've never seen the disk only version in Target. Actually is there even a disk only version available for the 360? Amazon doesn't show one.

Hit one other Target today and of course they have one copy of HS still scanning at $29.xx. WTF, this is never going to drop...

One question, that possibly was addressed in this or a previous thread, but do Target employees have to physically scan objects to drop the prices in their system or are the clearance prices updated manually?

My target droped PC Turning Point: Fall of Liberty for $8 and had nothing worth of note other then that. Still haven't dropped the ATV game for PS3 still stickin at $30 dollars. Nothing today....
 
Target in Gainesville had ATV for $30 for PS3 (had PLENTY), Dancing with the Sars for $14.98 for Wii, $7.98 for PC, the Crash game for $14.98, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast for $24.98 for Wii, NCAA 08 for 360 for $14.98 (had a few), Turning Point for $8 for PC, and some other shovelware for 360 for $8-16 ish.
 
has anyone been to the Target in Gaithersburg, MD?

I called the one in Silver Spring and they had no Heavenly Sword's, but I had them check local stores that have them in the computer, and she said Gaithersburg had 3 of them.

So I called the Gaithersburg one and asked and the guy didn't even go check or anything, but he told me he didn't have any left.

Just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal that the computers can be wrong like that.

Yep its the bundle pack of American Idol Mic and game for $12.48. There was 2 and I picked up one so only one left as of yesterday.

Most forums have a general rule of: DO NOT CALL! Alerts employees who may not be aware of the deal and then you are SOL.
 
so much for my hidden copy of heavenly sword behind some Heman DVDs.. i came back from the shore and the first thing i did was go to target to see if the price dropped. Only problem was that my target redid their dvd section and there are no more Heman dvds anywhere
 
Yeah, but sometimes you don't want to drive all the way out there just to find nothing. I call all the time and still are able to pick deals, I usually stop if it is in the area of where I am going.

My usual rule of thumb is not to call, but the way Gas Prices are these days I can't afford to drive all the way there and walk away empty handed...

Saw about 6 copies of Heavenly Sword at $30...they will probably disappear before they hit $15 since they are clearly marked and prominently displayed in the case.
 
Everyone - please call and save yourselves gas money, time money (yes, your time is worth something), and maybe even cut down a little on pollution and traffic. I know we all think that clearance games are coveted treasure, but trust me - most Target employees do not give two shits about clearanced games, and many will even go out of their way to help you if you are polite.

You can also use the link in the OP to check stock, and I have found it to be reasonably accurate.

So I bought a couple of Marvel Ultimate Alliances for $7.48 a few months back. I kept one to play and thought about trading the other or something but given that it is the regular version it didn't have much value. So I finally just returned it last week. I was at the same Target yesterday and I found what had to be my very same copy out on the clearance rack with an "As Is" sticker showing the original $7.48 price marked down to $1.86 :lol:. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it but the "As Is" must have scared off other purchasers. Needless to say I snagged it. Now I can return the other copy and get $7.48 back for that one... I have no idea why they felt the need to mark it down to $1.86 - if they had simply kept the $7.48 clearance sticker on there they probably could have sold it for that much.
 
Target is weird with those "AS-IS" stickers. About a month ago I found (4) $30 giftcards to Shutterfly marked down to $7.48. How the hell could a giftcard be damaged? This past week I saw about 20 cans of Memorex Air Duster on the clearance rack with "AS-IS" stickers on them for about $2 each. Nothing wrong with those either.
 
I picked up a Platinum Hits Viva Pinata for "7.48" today. I don't actually play 360 games very often, so I made my friends play Rock, Paper, Scissors for it :p

Not the lowest price I saw as I found it elsewhere in Orlando for 4.98 but didn't have enough to pick it up at the time.

I'm glad Target does this. To me it makes sense and covers their ass because most of the "AS-IS" merchandise is stuff that has been returned. Sure there might not be noticeable damage or use, but employees/management can't determine that upon return of an item.
