Target Clearance Thread XXIV

Aw man, my YouTube app on my 3DS hasn't worked in almost two months. I figured they were getting rid of it. The Wii U version also takes forever to load, and has a bunch of issues, like randomly freezing. Oh well, guess I'll just have to use my PS4, or my Tablet, or my laptop, or my phone. Like a filthy animal.

There was a manufacturing defect and a number of the physical copies don't actually work. Atlus will send you a digital code as a replacement.

On a related note the 3DS Youtube app is being cut off September 9th so we'll see how much longer the shop lasts.
they got rid of hulu on it and the vita earlier this year as well iirc. Was very sad since I use hulu all the time on them.

To add to this, the carts used to work. The manufacturing error caused them to stop working. So even if you have a cart that you played, you should check if it still works. Atlus will ony replace it with a digital code, which kinda sucks.

I never knew that was even possible. Is this every copy? Or 1st print runs?
Even broken, I can't see myself shipping a cart for a code. I hate digital. It's easier to mod one of my 3ds's and play a backup of it.

I don't know if there's a second print. But it started showing up when people put their cart in their 3DS and the cart is no longer recognized.

New ad this week talks about a huge toy clearance in stores. Hoping that some video game related toys will be included.

Hopefully there is something. Last games I picked up was vampyr and dynasty warrior 9, right after that nothing.

Almost bought Starlink on clearance for $18 but they didn't have the Switch version. The Wilkes-Barre, PA target had like 10 PS4 copies and 2 Xbox One copies. Oh well, wait for the digital version to go on sale.

Stopped in to get some Back To School clothes for the stepkid on tax free weekend, figured I'd check the (normally empty) VG clearance.

Seagate 2TB Game Drive for PS4 - 44.98 (Normally 89.99) - 056 02 0370

anyone here have a redcard? if so is it worth getting? and am i really saving or getting anything out of it or is it just like a credit card??

I have the debit card version. The main issue I have is that it doesn't actually draft from my account at the time of purchase (as a normal debit card usually does), instead it shows up 3-4 days later. Since it's not on my "primary" bank account, I just have to keep in mind that the balance isn't always current.

You have the option of getting a debit or credit card; 5% discount on all purchases (some exclusions), early access to Black Friday deals, no min free 2 days shipping.

They changed the two day shipping. Most items are now a $25 minimum, unless the item is $10 or over in certain cases. It's a pain in the butt. I used to just buy a few things under $10 and have them shipped, but now having to get up to $25 in most cases with my red card to get stuff shipped, makes me end up going into the store instead.

make sure you pay off your balance because, if you don't, the interest will eat away that 5% saving.
Also if you're late on a payment it's like a $35 fee regardless of the balance

Just get the debit red card unless you really need a credit line

Was in my Target today, didn't really see this glut of toy clearance. I mean, there were some interesting things like small MCU Lego sets, but they weren't priced down any lower than a sale.

I mean, it looked more full on the endcaps, but nothing of significance to my tastes. Though if you have a kid who wants the Captain Marvel doll with Goose and backpack they were half off!

My closest Target recently lowered the PS4/XB1 versions to 88% off ($9.04). They still have several PS4 copies left so I am kind of hoping for another drop.

An item I was looking at on BrickSeek had its price changed to "n.a." This is the second time I've seen that happen. Does it mean the item went to salvage status?

NOT video game related (unless you game through a bluetooth device  ) Picked up a couple of these Bluetooth speakers for $38 & change. They still had it on display so I was able to hear it before deciding to buy them, pretty decent speaker IMO & even though it does show N.A. on Brickseek they still rang up & the store did have it in stock. I found them in a glass case on a back end cap. MSRP was $199 originally & they still sell online for around $100. Decent deal IMO! Good luck! Oh BTW there are several colors so go to Brickseek & just search Boom 2 & you should find them.

Very possible but I've found stuff that has gone N.A. before in store & was still able to buy them. Each store is different though so it's kind of a crap-shoot. Try your luck & just go for it! See the post I just made in fact as they were N.A. as well!

I found out it's because the item has been removed from the system. You can still buy the item at its last known price, but it means that it won't drop anymore. Was looking at Sony speakers and one location only dropped it to 50%. Got salvaged in the system before it reached 70%. So now the items don't even show up in the in store scanner which is probably why BS shows it as n.a.

Yeah, they've been mentioned here a few pages back. The price is YMMV, I got mine for $60 a few weeks ago. They sound great--for audio. If you plan on using them as a sound system for your TV, forget it. They have significant lag and state buried on their site they're not intended for home theater use. I'll use them for Spotify on it though, since that won't matter.

Cane across some actual electronics clearance today. First time in a while.[attachment=32630:20190812_174451.jpg][attachment=32629:20190812_174516.jpg]

that joy con charger was 14.99 for the longest time at target and gamestop...

Missed it when it was $14.99 I guess.  Oh well. I do like how the charger has a spot for the controller and then the joycons slide into the side. I won't really be using it for the joycons so I like that it's an option but doesn't take up space if I'm not using it.

The stand is surprisingly sturdy.

I was mostly just excited to see clearance and not open package or online item.

Found an "as is" sealed copy of Assassin's Creed Gold Edition XBO for $53.86 Thought of buying it to resell but then found the ebay prices to be around the same so I wouldn't be making much of a profit and I'd rather sell it within a few days than wait months for someone to bite at 70 or 80. Besides you can buy it for $70 at BestBuy. Speaking of BestBuy, in this same store I went to I was looking for a 4TB external hard drive that BS said they had limited stock of for $34.98 I looked in the hard drives, none. Checked the clearance shelf not there either. Asked the female electronics associate and she does even know what a hard drive is. She asks me if I meant a usb drive. She then tells me that if it isn't on the shelf that she recommends going to bestbuy or walmart. what? Talked to another guy and he just tells me if it's not on the clearance shelf then it's not there. Oh well. I'm keeping an eye on another store that a little further away because they're supposed to have a unit there too but I'm waiting for them to lower the price before I go and check.

Can’t wait for that to merge

I'm really starting the rage at my local Target. Whoever is is charge of clearance apparently decreed that no item will go below 50% ever, for any reason whatsoever. There were some sweet backpacks I was waiting on to drop, but they stayed at 50% while other stores hours away dropped them to up to 90%. I went yesterday and now they're taken out of the system. Wtf? They're also a fan of the 'As Is' pricing as opposed to actual clearance so nothing ever drops. Sigh. /rant

It wouldn't happen to be one of those smaller footprint City Targets or neighborhood Targets, would it? I've found those to less lenient when it comes to clearance, most likely because they don't have the budget & margins for heavy clearance offset by much more sales volume.

Thank you for this, I FINALLY got an external hard drive at clearance price. Was clearanced for $27 at the store I picked up at.
