Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I can’t even get them to use my $5 coupon anymore I’ve been told now at multiple locations I need to buy the hardware warranty which I know is false. I thought it was just one employee but two stores in my area seem to have the employees on repeat with this statement.

Pro renewal came up and I canceled. Feels weird honestly but the benefits of it just aren’t there anymore. Had good times back around 2015-2018 ✌🏻
My renewal date is in August and I'm most likely going to cancel, too. I haven't pre-ordered a game from them in months since better deals pop up at places like Target and Walmart, and Best Buy often gets better pre-order bonuses. Once they removed the option to use the $5 monthly on currency cards, I lost a lot of reason to go there. It's a shame because my local store has a lot of nice people, but I noticed the few times I've been in lately, I'm recognizing fewer people, so I guess everyone is leaving/being relocated. Well, that just gives me another reason to jump ship.

Madden 24 XSX dropped to $8, btw.

Well, so much for trading it in.

Missed it twice it seems; a week or two ago when it was trading in for mid $20's during pro day, then when it was $15 base a day or two ago while the 50% bonus went live.

Guess it's a good reminder to not sit and wait. Amazes it dropped this much, but guess thats what happens when they openly promote the 50% trade bonus.

Its technically still about a $2 flip

Traded a bunch a games today and got my trade credit on a card. I was trying to buy a $50 Xbox card online and it wouldn't let me use my trade credit.

Is this some new policy? Because I swear I used trade credit to buy Xbox and Nintendo cards before.

Any reason I should hold onto my Series X? (Its my secondary Series X) I was hoping to trade it towards a PS5 PRO if it launches later this year, but I don't even play anything taxing at the moment, and looks like the Switch 2 is gonna be next year. I feel like trade in values won't be anywhere near good for it now. I just don't know what I would pick up or buy with the TC.

It is policy for online orders. I’m not sure exactly when it went into effect, but probably about the beginning of the year.

If you can, hold until October 2024. If not, just sell locally.

Can you still double dip monthly coupon? Think it was a matter of it had to be $10 or more online, and doesn't work on this or that in store but don't know if there's a minimum in store.

I’ve had arguments with this one guy at my local GameStop so I wont be returning to that one but the next nearest one is a half hour away and I keep asking myself the same thing what would I pick up or buy with the TC.

.Yes you can still double dip.

As far as I know there's no minimum in-store. For online, I think it's fine as long as the total is more than $0 after applying the coupon.

Usually trade promos last a week, so it should be good by the end of saturday. There is a probability that it may extend to next saturday, but don't count on it (the console trade was extended a week FYI).
Thank you! I assumed that it ended Saturday but I swear during the last promo I went in on a Friday (or maybe even a Saturday afternoon) and was told I missed the promo.

It shouldn't have ended yet. There's a systemwide error that's causing promotions like $25 off 250 from activating automatically. The associate might be able to enter it manually if they know the promotion code. Maybe someone who already did it this week can post the promo code from their receipt.

Dang. Guess I lost out on a few dollars. Oh well.

My receipt shows #29907 for the 50% bonus on each game.

yeah series S $25 bump and game 50% bump applied just fine today, store person didn't know if both promos end tomorrow or will continue on so if you have any trades to do may wanna get it done tomorrow.

$50 bump on ps5/series X, $25 bump on switch and xbox series S, 50% bump on trade values for games may end tomorrow. No bump on accessories/controllers except usual 10% pro.

Saw some concerns regarding 50% ending. It's always been Saturdays as the last day or could be extended depending. A lot of values still good while others not so much

This week trade in promo is trade 2 from this LIST to get $50 in trade in credit towards Paper Mario Switch. There are definitely some good trade in values in the list with the promotion.

Does anyone know how a return would work for this (lol)? Don't really want the game, just want the credit hehe.

You should be able to just return the game like normal and get the credit back.

Yeah I see some decent values, but Sniper Elite 5 PS4 is definitely the big one, for those who were able to get it for $5 at Walmart.

It is right now at some Walmarts and has been during this clearance cycle. Going to be tough to find at this point unless you live somewhere with no mom groups or flippers.
I just came from gamestop and they are not honoring the trade 2 for $50 towards paper mario. I went in with five nights at freddy's and Minecraft ultimate edition, both for switch. The person working there, who was supposedly the manager, did not want to override it either. So apparently, not all most wanted games listed online are eligible towards the promo. Therefore, there's a possibility that sniper's elite game is not eligible either ( I am not sure though).

Prior trade ins like this are not active until the release date of the game you are trading towards. Try on Thursday when TTYD comes out.
