They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

Are there trade limits?

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I know what I'm doing later today. I actually will kinda miss my launch PS5. I got lucky and it's continued to stay silent. 410 is too good to not take advantage off. Now I just got to worry about getting a pro pre-order in.

Yea, I dunno, I really hate to be without one for that long, especially without even securing a preorder. But I guess I do have a backlog elsewhere...

Sigh, time to do the math

I honestly don't think its worth trading in a ps5 for the pro, until we see more specifics of how everything runs. You will be paying around $400 out of pocket still with taxes keep that in mind and also have no disc drive.

oh it absolutely isn't. You're paying +$500 for another Playstation, after that disc drive and tax. while losing a working player.

The market is going to send a message on this one.

Probably having so many consoles traded in that they are over it. Hooking everything up and testing it takes forever every time I see an employee doing it and usually ends up costing them a few other potential customers walking out.
Not to mention firmware updates. I saw a GSA decline a customer because they couldn't update their console with their in-store wireless dial-up without having to wait three days. They told the other person to go home and then come back.

PS5 Pro is such an easy pass. I'm completely happy with my Spider-Man 2 limited edition console with limited edition controller plus black tentacle base and Venom head with nameplate attachments the latter three of which I bought from Etsy. I also have a Venom controller holder by Cable Guys and am currently waiting on a SCRY artic fan cooler in the mail. My console may not be a PS5 Pro, it is definitely my PS5uper.

I called my store since its a 25 minute drive and the guy said he just had to inform another customer that the value was way down. he said he thinks its a glitch and it might go back up. He said to check back another day or even Friday.

anybody trade in an iphone before? do you factory reset the thing first or do they need to do something on it?

It's easy to reset, then click through the set up prompts. Maybe only thing you need to do is set up Internet connection during this process. Other than that is super quick. Even if you need to manually reset it on the spot.

I have traded in a couple, and I think they would need it set up to see the model number in the settings.

it looks like its back on the site

oh well, original statement still stands: not interested in being out a console for a little while and for $370 + tax amount on the full $780 almost mid $400's out of pocket for this PS5 Pro. They can keep it.

I wonder if the ps5 pro pre-orders sell poorly, will Gamestop do a special trade up promotion that will give more then the 410 currently on a PS5. I know in the past it's happened. Odds are probably very rare though.

I was in the store the other day chatting them up about it getting announced soon and the employees there very strongly suggested I wait until the upcoming Pro Week, even with knowing about the current $410 value. Would be very surprised for it to be topped, but I'm in no rush either way

GameStop has unusually good trade in deals when new consoles are announced. Makes me wonder if they are getting deals from console manufacturers or earn favor for selling X number of new consoles.

Looking at GameStop's first profitable quarter in a long time but revenue down big time. Software sales (including digital) nearly cut in half. If the trend continues, this time next year sales of collectibles will outpace software (no surprise when you see what they have on shelves).

Not unexpected when free shipping is too high, stores are closing, and they've reduced benefits for the most loyal shoppers.

Yet the C-suite and shareholders will still see this as a win 😕

The console only retails for $499, occasionally on sale for $450. $410 will most likely be the best we'll see.

I will be trading in my unit today and using my PC/Series X for the meantime. I will miss seeing my spiderman plates (putting the white plates back on for trade in), hopefully Sony re-releases them or have something better in the future.

Silent Hill drops Oct 8. I can't wait a month to play it. I decided to gamble and keep it for now. I did buy a disc drive though. I don't trust sony to male enough.

410 for my Series X that I paid 210 for from warehouse deals is temping me. Now with the pro. I probably won't touch the xbox again. And the fact that xbox has disabled the ability to turn off crossplay. My gold sub ends in October. I mean, what am I waiting for.

Do it. The trade value is great, and if you decide you want it again, you can get another one during holiday sales for less than what you traded yours in for.
Updating and factory resetting now. I won't miss it. I haven't powered it on since January. I'm shocked they are still giving 410 for a series x.

I traded a series x last year, probably in October. Will they deny me? I seem to remember seeing on here you can only trade in 1 console in certain amount of time.

There are limits, but I doubt the system you traded in almost a year ago is going to be an issue. After you factory reset, you should update your system and set up a dummy account in case they want to test it. You may be turned away if they have to update since their store Internet isn't robust enough for that. Don't forget the HDMI cord and power cable.

An extra 10% trade-in would be like $40 to you, but you're right in not waiting that long.

I think they look at it as a loss leader. Get people into stores and hope they spend more money on games and accessories.

Trade values have decreased again now as of 7pm EST. Hopefully the 20% trade in bonus will stack
just traded in at 5:40 EST and got the $350 base value for my series x, so these changes are literally becoming minute to minute. are you talking about the 20% for preorders/new games? because that doesn't apply to consoles at all.

Should I trade in my LE halo series x & LE spider-man plated ps5 disc?
Please don't sell them to GameStop...but to someone who appreciates art and gaming. Just recently bought the same Halo XSX console with controller along with a 4K monitor for $400 as well as the proprietary 2TB expansion card for $120. I wanted the 2TB Galaxy Black which looks beautiful, but that $599.99 plus tax pricetag is pretty fugly. Hoping to break even once I sell the monitor. Does GameStop take in monitors for trade-in credit, anybody?
