Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Where is the weekly ad?

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).


TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Usually there's a clear circle sticker on the boxes and or the flaps tear when opening. But yeah that should be doable unless you really care about it being mint for collection purposes.

Interesting. I have a black Wii in storage that I'm neve going to use again. May have to wait a few more years until the trade value goes up to a price I'm comfortable with.
 
Gamestop's demise as been heraled since PS4 and yet they still find a way to stick around. It does baffle me, but so does the fact that people still renew their "Pro Membership" for $5 off every month if you find the exact products you can use it.
 
It boggles my mind that people have difficulty finding things to use a $5 coupon on. It works on literally anything that's not digital currency/gift cards. You can see why they prohibited coupons from working on digital currency since they make pennies on digital, and a coupon would cause them to take a loss. You can use it on a warranty even. The coupon stacks with sale and clearance items - most retailers wouldn't allow that. There are probably games you can buy with a coupon that you can trade back into GS for a profit.

It’s not hard to find things to use it on. It’s hard to find things you want that are not cheaper elsewhere that’s the problem.
 
I didn't renew (obviously) especially when Game Informer went away. I started to subscribe to EDGE magazine which is fricking brillaint, but I digress.

Too often while in Gamestop I could search amazon or dekudeals.com and find a better price.
 
You won't sign up for a $25 membership that gives you $60 back, but you will subscribe to a $80 magazine? Even if you have a digital subscription, it's probably still half that price, right?

Not enough to stick around and pay of the lease at some stores apparently.
 
Curious if anyone has ordered Dreamcast games from GS recently? I know other retro platforms had some fakes but not sure if this even applies to Dreamcast games.

I only have 18 games currently and some of the used prices look more favorable than the insanity that is Ebay or any other retro game stores.
 
Best Buy baited me with a $5 certificate (expires in 3 days) for being a long-time but absent customer. Was about to order Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD brand new sealed with stickers but ordered a $10 PSN digital gift card instead for only $5. Gonna finally get to play Separate Ways DLC. Check your emails, guys. If you have the PayPal credit card, make sure to also select the Best Buy tile to get an additional 5% cashback (expires in 7 days).

Yup, checking out with paypal gives you 3 percent, plus 5 percent for paypal rewards. I'm hoping this last until the pro and 30th anniversary stuff drops.

Well, every extra cashback deals have expiration dates. In the case with Best Buy thru PayPal as of right now, it expires in a week; however, that doesn't mean they won't offer it again in the near future considering soft refreshes. At the same time tho, I recall GameStop being one of the extra cashback merchants last year, but PayPal (let alone Rakuten, Honey, and others) doesn't seem to offer anything with them anymore, so who really knows. Hope.

If I recall correctly, there is a rubber band trick that allows you to play burned cds and import games. it takes like 5 seconds.

I've used it a few times this past week, and everytime I re add it, it gives me 7 more days. For some reason you can only use them once. (PayPal Rewards)

Correct. Back in the day you can rent a dreamcast game from blockbuster, slap it in a PC with DVD-RW, copy disc, and just play that direct on the console. No mods needed. So I've heard...
 
I tried to use my $5 certificate on Steam credit today. The cashier tried both a physical card and the receipt code, but the discount would not apply. Is that a known limitation?

Main thing to worry about is that they mostly come disc only and with buffing compound. Never had counterfeit Dreamcast, but I had a bootleg Heart Gold and Lufia. They're really good about returns, though.

Yes. Did you sign up for Pro recently? You might be able to refund it if it's been less than 3 days ago.

If you trade in games, hardware, etc., those can be used on game-related virtual currency in-store. Not on the website where it can't differentiate between gift cards and trade credit.
 
Finally, a mess up in my favor. Ordered a used PS5 stand for my upcoming pro. Expected the worst, (a knock off) and received this. Brand new still sealed. 👍

Anyone know if GameStop in store clearance is still Buy 1 Get 2? That was posted in the leaks, but not in the most recent post, or gamestop’s ads now that Pro week is live.

Edit: I went to a store, it is Buy 1 get 2 clearance in store, according to the associate. But no signage, and their clearance kiosk was completely gone. Noticed just 1 shirt marked clearance for $11. I didn’t bother checking any other stores.

What's worse is that clearance items are non-returnable/non-refundable which means you cannot take advantage of the B1G2 free with another store if they have things you found you like.
