Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Anyone know if there is additional trade credit for a disc version over the $385 for the digital?

We can still cancel the pre-order later after the fact like usual right?

Crazy they're going to try and eat the tariffs on the systems, but maybe they'll raise the prices after the "launch window." Hedging a bet the tariffs drop, perhaps.

But the accessory cost is nuts and got higher. It's basically $100+ for say of joycons after tax. The pro controller isn't far behind. Luckily the old stuff still works, but I'd be major pissed if my $100 controller got stick drift.

They can eat my whole butt on that dock pricing. Comically overpriced.
With the current economical state of the world these prices aren’t that bad. It’s what I expected.

Just saw that preorders will happen at store open on April 24. And 8am est online.
I saw that, kinda sucks because I'd like to use my credit, but don't fully trust their website for that big of a purchase. Would like to secure one in store, but would also just like to show up at 11am when they open and do that and not have to wait for hours or go and miss out, so not sure what to do as of right now. What time are people planning on showing up at stores to pre order? If I miss out on it in store I imagine online would be sold out by that time.

Oh it just hit me, the Pro Week 20% bonus should stack with the Switch trade-in promo towards the Switch 2. At least, I hope so.

$210 for my OLED would be nice

Do both.

anyone trying to do a pick up order using their $5 code and getting a payment error?
this is what I get:

We were unable to complete your order due to a system decline.
Your bank may show a "pending" authorization - this pending authorization will clear automatically shortly.
To try again, please attempt a different form of payment or visit the nearest GameStop store.

everything is correct on my end

edit: after selecting to put a new credit card, the whole page refreshes and it says my cart is empty. I loaded up the same game to my cart and put the $5 code and now it says coupon already redeemed.

this is your reminder to check your pawn shops for broken or as is consoles. i just bought two PS5s with minor issues for $100 ($50 each) and i’m pretty confident i can get at least one working by the deadline of 4/26

I stop by my local pawn shops once a week, and nearly every "as is" PS5 I've seen are from overheating/shut down and just need a new liquid thermal replacement. Apparently when you keep the PS5 vertically the liquid thermal is not properly spread or can seep out causing it to overheat and shut down.

‘this is something I’ll never understand and it’s been a decades long opinion…. Keeping consoles vertical is a horrible idea, dangerous, and should never be advertised as Sony does. I remember back in the day the Xbox would scratch discs when used on the vertical position. It just shouldn’t even be an option in my eyes... asking for trouble.

They are happy to sell you a new one

Went to a pawn shop today and they had a Xbox series x for $330, which would have been a great flip, but just couldn't justify converting $330 cash into credit right now even for that big of a profit. Already have about $600~ in credit. Might regret it later but if the bonus is still working on consoles next week I might do it.

You could have used the trade in credit on the digital currency of your choice. It would have been like a free $100 PSN, Nintendo, or Steam code. Or a $330 Switch 2.
Yeah I'm already sitting on $600 in credit. That big of a return I'd usually jump on, just a big cash spend up front that I'm not dying to do at the moment. But like I said, might regret it later

Don’t forget if you got cold hard cash you can barter for a better price .

Oh dang, didn't notice that before- gmail popped up a maps icon that said "Gamestop" and searching for the address still shows Gamestop, but eBay shipping address does say Gameware. Looks like their website has a OOS CIB listing for $25, I wonder if it'll show up there once delivered.

I'm so invested in this suddenly... LOL Will update everyone Monday, when it's scheduled to be delivered.(y)

I forgot to update you guys but this place actually does have a CIB copy on their website right now.... should I buy it and see if it's the copy I sold them...?

You don’t know how tariffs work do you?

Companies don’t just get an automatic free pass for stupid pricing now. Can’t blame tarrifs for Nintendo charging $10 for the Switch Welcome Park new system tutorial. Astros Playroom was a legit fully fledged very fun game, given for free with every PS5. Its a bad look for kid friendly Nintendo, for pennies in the grand scheme of things.

Well then don't go to the IGN board or the Reddit threads. Plenty of people are sticking up for Nintendo for charging $10 for an instruction manual and for overpricing on their accessories and then charging more money on top of that in the latest price update. Not to mention how Nintendo is charging too much for switch 2. There will always be people defending companies and sticking up for them no matter how greedy they are or how many stupid mistakes they make.
