GS FAQ

Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

They should have marketed this as get up to 420.69 on Easter Sunday with Easter imagery all over. That would have been kind of funny and maybe gotten the edgy response they are going for, but this just comes across as pandering and pathetic from a large corporation known to ride its employees as hard as they do. Always does.

Question for those that might follow console trade values closer than myself, looks like I can get $143 credit for a switch oled with the preorder bump. I know GameStop announced a switch upgrade promo is coming, but is $143 considered relatively good these days? Thanks!

Nah $143 with dock and all that is a lowball. it's $175 towards Switch2 I believe, and even that's low. Better off selling second hand for in the lower 200s IMHO.

this is your reminder to check your pawn shops for broken or as is consoles. i just bought two PS5s with minor issues for $100 ($50 each) and i’m pretty confident i can get at least one working by the deadline of 4/26
There is also an if because if those said broken consoles are network banned, you are basically stuck with a paperweight after investing funds to trading in. Most GS won't even take them in

Value was as high as $168 with Pro bonus back in December. There was the funny brief glitch last October when a bunch of stuff was crazy high, but was fixed before store open. Trade value was $340.99, but obviously wasn't actually real. Otherwise $181.50 was high in Sept/October. $192.50 in July.

As has been stated, you are better off selling it on another marketplace if you are comfortable with it. Otherwise the Switch 2 trade-in bonus might be best value from GameStop for now.

My stores haven't checked for network bans yet. They will shake the console vigorously to see if any roaches or dust come out, test the controller for drift, make sure the console turns on and has no accounts associated with it, and run a game if it has a disc drive, make sure the controller charges with the provided charge cable, take another look at the ports to make sure they aren't damaged, their main thing is making sure there's no roaches or a lot of dust, if it passes that you're practically home free
