The CAG Backlog Support Group.

Since I'm not purchasing an Assassin's Creed his fall since God knows when, I'm diving into my backlog a little bit and catching up on Assassin's Creed Bloodlines for PSP. Never touched it so it should be interesting.
Yea I didn't finish the second memory sequence. The controls are not good. The world is bland. I think that if I played it when it released I would have enjoyed it more. Now I've played through several evolutions of AC so now I can't go back to something like this.

Anyway I am trying to finish Tearaway before Tuesday since there is a certain Konami JRPG I have been dying for for a very long time.

See, I'm afraid that if I start playing my PS4 games before finishing my last gen backlog, I'm going to want to keep playing current gen games!
Very rational fear because that's what is happening to me. I am having real difficulties going back and playing anything from last gen since I said 'screw it' and grabbed a PS4 & X1.

Now my PS3 which I put a 1TB in just sits there with a megaton of PS+ games. The same with my Vita with a 64gb memory card.
So, yeah, keep doing what you're doing. Lol.

Hey guys I haven't been playing much recently, but I wanted t update my list. I recently just completed Dragon's Crown. I'm going to work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 next, although there's a good chance that I'll get distracted with a different, shiny new game.

It's good to see that everyone else is making progress on their backlog. Keep up the good work everyone!

Picked up AC: Unity, GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition, Rollers of the Realm, Age of Zombies, Far Cry Classic and I got those free EA games from the Sony event. I already finished Mirrors Edge so I don't really count that. Oh and I won a Wolf Among Us for PS4 from GamesRadar.

I finished Duck Dynasty though :)

hey everyone so far my backlog has increased tremendously since last i posted hahahaha well i will be done with exams soon so then i can get around to my backlog lol however i recently started playing metroid fusion and its still as good as i remember, i had the game for gba but it broke....... once i get done with that game i will play shovel knight next

Well, as expected, I got stuck on my progress thanks to Smash. Will probably try to finish Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright this weekend to relax myself.

Good luck with your backlog, people. haha

Don't play Duck Dynasty for any reason ever
No way. Platinum that bitch for bragging rights.

After I speed run Cory in the House later tomorrow I'm going do some drinking games by myself with Deal or no Deal (Wii). I got a bottle of Skol and lots of self pity to drown in. Afterwards I'll probably order one of those Fritos Papa Johns pizzas and eat it in the shower like an animal.

Cory in the House is perfection. And I've totally had one of those frito pizzas.

Uh oh, do we need a movie backlog thread?
Please don't, I can only handle one backlog at a time. I actually sold off an 18 gallon tote full of movies this summer and it barely took a dent out of my collection.

This summer was game free, though I did buy some games to throw onto the backlog pile. To get back into the groove, I started playing Fallout 3 again after a 4 year hiatus. Why did I ever stop??!!! That game is so much fun.

Also back from the dead after four years is Red Faction Guerrilla. It's only fun in spurts because it's so damn repetitive. Just finished knocking out Dust, hopefully there isn't too much more to this one or it will never get finished.

I added many games to the backlog over the summer, but the one I'm happiest about is finally finding a copy of Ogre Battle for PS1. It's not in the condition I want, but it's playable.

Just finished hearts r a little under 60 hours.  now back to grandia then I just need to pick out my next victim.  I just realized that was 4 tales games in one year I beat. 5 if you count my nieces playthrough of symphonia which I helped her with as colette/genis.

This is my biggest issue - almost all of my backlog is RPGs. Currently on FFX with X-2, P4G, 2 Tales games in that backlog.

On the plus side, got a significant bonus yesterday and DID NOT go out and buy a PS4/XBone.

Just finished Tearaway. It went from normal, creative platformer to Mario Galaxy to 2001 Space Odyssey. I would recommend this game to anyone who owns a Vita.

Been sitting in my vita for 6 months now and I can never seem to get the want to play it. Maybe this is the push i need.

At the prompting of a close friend, I actually started playing Dragon Age: Origins last week. I finished the main campaign on Tuesday. While it did take quite a while, it wasn't difficult for me to finish. It's a BioWare RPG, after all. The stories they craft tend to be quite good.

I'm going to take a little bit of a break after this, I have some projects I need to work on.

Started up Bayonetta 2 today. Amazing. This sets the bar for action hack n' slash games. Right now my Wii U is my most played system spreading my time between Bayonetta 2, Smash and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.

Totally agree! RPGs and open world games like GTA, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, etc.

I played until a certain point, left it alone for a while and never felt any urge to go back to it. Actually, I'm finding myself just quitting games a lot.

So far this year I started but didn't finish:

Silent Hill 2 HD

Dante's Inferno

Heavenly Sword

Hitman: Contracts

GTA San Andreas

and now I decided to stop playing Web of Shadows. I see now why it scored low. At first the game is a blast but later it becomes over crowded, un-motivating, and just plain boring. The Lost and the Damned, however, is getting better and better.

Dude they were really tough until I figured it out. What you want to do is hold R2 to get to max speed then hold L2 (reverse) and it gives you complete control of your boat. You can maneuver hella easy.

Beat Killzone Mercenary on the Vita. It's much better than the piece of shit Killzone that they put out on PS4. It was also good to play in short burts during the week and finish quickly which makes it easy to move on to the next game.

Just beat GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned.  The quality of this dlc/add-on is surprisingly top notch from the missions to the story to the voice acting.

Going to start Hitman: Bloodmoney and Bully SE.  I'm going to tackle my back log from oldest to newest by release date, see how that works.

Its always good to have a Plan, I love having a strategy but after a few games I find myself straying from it! Regardless, the plan is to finish the backlog. I hope you have more will than me.

Well I finally took a break this past week from playing Final Fantasy XIV (MMO) which usually takes up most of my time because it's easy to just pick up and just get things done.

And since I did that I'm now about 1/2 way through both Final Fantasy X and Shadow of the Colossus.  Quite the accomplishment for me since I work 12 hour days.   Feeling good about knocking these 2 off the list in a week or two though.

I find that once I can get a few hours into a game I'll continue playing it.  Otherwise I play 30 mins at a time and just have no attachment to the game.   So this time around I'm trying to set aside chunks of time to dedicate to games before I give up on them.   This time around I'm also not trying to 100% the RPGs or any game for that matter - just trying to beat the story.   Heck, I'll probably play some games on easy just to experience the game/story and move on.

I had to stop playing Resistance: Burning Skies for the Vita. It's a decent FPS for the majority of the game but the last section of it contains some of the worst level design in any game I've played. There's a frustrating section where you're thrown into a small room with a huge group of enemies who rush you and then it's followed by another irritating section with no checkpoint in between. Anyone else sometimes just say " fuck it" and not finish some of the games you start? The last one I can remember that got so bad that I had to quit was Lost Planet 2 several years ago.

Love the Lollipop Chainsaw avatar.

finished grandia the day after hearts r.  p3fes won the what I should play next poll so I started that.  Hate its shuffle omg it sucks. and I really miss all the useful stuff p4/p3p added to the series like being able to read move descriptions.  Seriously don't know how anyone could say fes is superior to p3p.  Thankfully its going to be 10 long or so at least I wont have to suffer for too long.  I hope if I'm lucky I finish this before the end of the year and can add another game crossed off the back log.

I think Sin & Punishment is pretty short from what I remember, so if you are looking to cross something off the list, that may be a good plac to start.

haha sounds like what would happen if flonne from disgaea 1 and sabastian from black butler were the pikmin users
lol, my phone did that. Now my post has been fixed... and I got no idea of what you are talking about.

OK, I started Sin & Punishment and its awesome. Thanks the input Corgstradamus!

Sin & Punishment and Wario Land can be finished within 6 hours or so. You can't miss Pikmin though. It is a fantastic game.

Resistance 2 for me. I remember reaching Chicago and just turning off the game. I wanted to enjoy the series but I couldn't make it through the game.

Thinking on starting Kingdom Hearts Final Mix tonight (Never played a KH games, need to grab 2.5 collection to finish out my KH list).

In what order does the KH timeline go game wise so I can start that? I need to finish that and FF XIII next year for the new games coming in 2016 (while FF XIII has nothing to do with XV, still need to beat them because I bought them all, lol).

1. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

2. Kingdom Hearts

3. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

4. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 (technically this starts at the end of KH1)

5. Kingdom Hearts 2

6. Kingdom Heart Re: coded

7. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

Technically Birth By Sleep is 1st in the storyline, but I would recommend playing 1, 2, and Chain of Memories first.

First off I just want to thank everyone for keeping this thread strong for the last year. I really appreciate everyone coming here and sharing their stories and giving encouragement to other people trapped in BacklogHellTopia. I figured since the end of the year is coming...we should maybe post our favorite games, that we knocked out of our backlog. It doesn't have to be games released in 2014, but maybe a top 3-5 or 10 if you are so inclined.

Just going through my list quickly, my highlights, in no particular order are:
FarCry4
Diablo 3
Transistor
Lego Marvel
South Park Stick of Truth
Dead Pool
Outlast

Thanks again everyone! Let's make 2015 the year we destroy our Backlogs!

Yea this thread has been a blast. It is a shame that CAG doesn't get the good traffic it used to because this thread would be a lot bigger. For me my top 5 this year would be in no order...

Batman Arkham City (Wii-U)

Assassin's Creed 4 (Wii-U)

Hotline Miami (Vita)

Tearaway (Vita)

Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds (3DS)

My top 10-

1. Wolfy
2. Far Cry 4
3. Mordor
4. Shovel Knight
5. Bayonetta 2
6. Dragon Age: Inquisition
7. Transistor
8. Infamous 2nd Son
9. MGS V Ground Zeroes
10. Mario Kart 8

Why not. Keep in mind however i've yet to finish COD AW, Far Cry 4, or Shadow of Mordor.
This was a hard top five to make by the way, lol.

This is a year where I have legitimately enjoyed a lot of the indies on the PS4 store more than AAA releases. My tastes changed a lot this year. Quite interesting.

1. Transistor - PS4
2. Dragon Age Inquisition - PS4
3. Rogue Legacy - VITA

4. D4 - XBOX ONE
5. Destiny - PS4

YES! I thought I was the only one. Played a little of Resistance 3 and so far it seems to be the best out of the series.

So far the best games I've played this year are:

Asura's Wrath

Far Cry 3

GTA IV: Lost and Damned

Gears of War 3

Spec Ops: The Line

Guacamele

Infamous 2

Yeah. This thread is awesome. In fact, its my favorite on CAG. Its sad it doesn't get much attention. I just have fun reading about what all of you are playing and what not.

Here are my favorite games ive played this year (in no particular order):

DKC Tropical Freeze

Mario Kart 8

Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U

Professor Layton series (I played a few of them, all awesome)

Shovel Knight

The Wonderful 101

Rhythm Heaven Fever

So within the past couple of playtimes, I've tried these games but could not bring myself to finish for various reasons:

Hitman: Contracts

Hitman: Blood Money

Bully: Scholarship Edition

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

Crysis

Condemned 2: Bloodshot

It seems that my plan is working - sifting through some cheap impulse buys to find a game that's worth my time while chipping away at my backlog.  :D/

Next up:

Castle Crashers

Saints Row 2

Fable 2

Mirror's Edge

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

Agreed due to holidays unable to work on backlog hell this past weekend i wasnt home at all i was out well anyway these are the games i have played this year that i liked anyway those are just the few i can remember once holidays are over i should get back to my backlog again

1. infamous second son

2. south park the stick of truth

3. pokemon black version 2

4. dead rising 3

5. soul sacrifice ( i still gotta finish up delta)

6. mario kart 8

7. super smash bros

Well I'm new to this thread and just starting into my backlog so I'll just post the last game I remember beating and that was

Brothers:  A Tale of Two Sons

But I did want to post to say that I love this thread and seeing people making dents in their backlogs.  Also just by coming here, I've kept myself from buying a next gen console a few different times this month.

So hopefully I'll have more to contribute in 2015!
