The General 360 Owners/Buyers FAQ Thread (Updated 1/15/10)

So I just got off the phone with a BBV nearby and they finally cut the cost of the 40GB PS3 new to 359.99. Still too much seeing as they will hopefully get the new 80GB soon for MSRP of 399.99. Are there any BBV workers that have any info on when we can expect those in store?

haven't heard anything sorry. i wouldn't count on it really soon but hopefully eventually. i feel bad selling people the ones we have when they could get 40 more gigs at wally world for the same price. meh...such is retail.

Just traded in:

Alone in the Dark (wii) for 30.00
Death Jr (wii) for 23.00
+ tax 4.57

Total: 57.57

My clearance games from CC are now spent. Might get an alone in the dark (wii) used from gamestop with coupon and edge for like 19 in credit and flip it. Not sure if its worth it though. This crap sure does get addicting.

I'm kicking myself already for leaving a couple ESA packs...but hopefully someone who actually wants to play those three games actually gets them.

Anyone have the the TIV for these games?

PSP:
Monster Hunter Freedom
Lord of the Rings Tactics
Medevil Ressurection
Spider-man 2

DS:
LostMagic
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Traded in Luxor: Pharoah's Challenge (Wii) for $20. Paid $9.09 + tax for it at GS after coupon/Edge. Also picked up a $20 PSN card.
Thanks a lot. I'm glad it held. Wipeout is only three days away!

I had them check AITD(Wii) and both versions of DW: G while I was at the local BBV buying a copy of Uncharted for $39.99 to use up some of this credit.

Apparently, all of the TIV's held for those three games, as they still came up as AITD($30), DWG for PS3($33) and DWG for 360($35).

couldn't find any of these trade in values on the first page. anyone know what any of them are or if it would be better to trade in any at GS with the extra $5 promotion? i tried calling my bbv & they put me on hold for like 5 mins then i hung up. they only had 1 employee working when i was in there on saturday.

World Series of Poker 2008 (360 or PS3)
Kane & Lynch (360 or PS3)
The Club (360)
The Darkness (360)
Dark Sector (360)
Marvel UA (360)

Thanks

One more for the op, Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii only nets $16 @ BB, making it no longer flippable ($17.50 @ GS-> $16 @ BB)

Sucks about Condemned 2, I just found a few copies.

Yea, that's the only reason I haven't bought one yet. I have all kinds of credit at BBV/GR but I don't want to buy a PS3 only to have them start carrying the 80GB two weeks later. What is the return policy on systems at BBV? I am assuming that once you open it you're SOL?

I freed up some extra games I got from the Circuit City 20% off Clearance and now I'm up about $292.00 in BBV credit. If I would've known about Alone in the Dark, I would've came up on that too. Thanks CAG for making me addicted to flipping.

TiVs 9/22

Viking (PS3) - $20
Monster Jam (Wii) - $30
Rock and Roll Adventures (Wii) - $16
Sea Monsters (Wii) - 23

Looks like Sega Superstars Tennis (PS3), Luxor (Wii), and Hail to the Chimp (PS3, 360) are still the best GS -> BBV trade ratios (assuming the Hail to the Chimp TiVs held).

Dont know if it has been posted but HULK (PS3) no longer gets $30+. It traded for $23 today. Alot of requests for trade in values. Pick up the damn phone and call yourself. I got a lady to give me 11 TIV over the phone then posted the good flips here. Why cant more people do the same.

:applause::applause::applause:Bravo! thanks for the Hulk update...now no whining posts of how you can't call because "one time I called and they would not give me the info..."

That or just wait until people confirm things. I've wanted to ask about all the current flips to see if they've held, but instead I waited and people confirmed after they traded in. Hell, even I took a risk and traded in 2 games without calling to see if they dropped.

Wasn't there some number in Hawaii that was good to call? I'm being serious, I want to call but not my local place, so I thought it might be fun to call that Hawaii store someone mentioned was good in the last GR thread.

Even though I got stung by a scorpion this morning (it was in my shoe and got me on the finger) I put in 10 hours at the customer site and then hit up some BB and GS store on the way home. In one awesome shopping center there is a BB and a GS about 50 feet from one another. I traded Beautiful Katamari and Metal Slug Anthology from BB to GS. BK dropped to $5. Then I picked up a couple of Spyros and another MSA at another BB. Of course, the trade-in deal is 2 for $10 now (I didn't know any of this being unable to access the Internet all day but I asked at the GS).

Someone said Viking held at $20? I find that surprising because one BB had it marked $24.99 used...

I also flipped a Code Lyoko back to BB (still $20). I need to make a quick check of what else held and then head out to find some more stuff even though I can't feel most of my right arm any more... (actually, it is slightly better but they told me it would be all better in 12 hours - it's been 12 hours)

damn that's awful !
Are you applying cold compresses 10 min. on/off?
Hopefully the numbness fades in the next twelve hours but can linger for a couple weeks ... (not the norm)...Did you see a doc? With your busy schedule it doesn't appear so...

I'll be checking this week on a couple of 360 price drops. As always, thanks guys.

BTW we should probably add a standard TIV calculator to the OP.

Sells for 15, always gets 8.. etc.

I picked up an AITD to trade to BB, but wouldn't you know it? It was the soundtrack edition and they wouldn't take it :bomb:

I did trade a sea monsters, though.

Do you guys really have that much trouble with the games not scanning? So far, it has happened to me 3 times and each time, BBV took the games. No questions asked. Maybe I'm really getting lucky.

I posted this already but one of the mods deleted it for whatever reason. BB's TIV's are not always set in stone. Cranium Kabooki for Wii is $14.99 used but the TIV is $16.
Just traded in:
Fire Emblem Wii 30
Alone in the Dark Wii 30
Eye of Judgement 30

(all holding steady as of 4pm EST)
I'm a bit of a newb here, especially with this flipping stuff. Did you trade in Eye of Judgement at BBV or Gamestop? Did you have to give the play mat, cards, and camera stand with it? I got the EOJ with PS Eye bundle a week or so ago and I like the camera but I despise the game. Might be a good first trade in for me. Thanks for the info!

Trade it game only to BBV. Keep the camera or get rid of it at GS for $11.

i know NGII is $29.99 NEW at BBV but how long does it take their system to change the price of the USED one from $34.99 to $24.99?

oh and for anyone who pre-ordered Iron Man (Blu-Ray) at BBV, my BBV said they would pricematch any competitors price with a PRE-ORDER and PROOF OF LOWER DEAL! So if that's the same way with yours, then take the ad from CC and PM that b*tch! Will be on sale for $26.99 on day of release at CC :)

Careful not to flip too many games at once at the same store or they really are going to throw you out.

I'm assuming this is a universal price drop. PS3's are dropping by $50. SO 399 systems are 349, 499 bundles are 449. I know for a fact this is on 40gb systems, but I thought I saw something about 80 gig systems too. Just a heads up in case in hasn't been posted yet.

Ya i didnt say this in the post but i traded 1 sea monsters to a store and picked up the 2nd and SST and went to my other store. So i think im in the clear:D
I was kinda wondering what the number and extension is to call about canceling my XBL Gold account? It runs out the 28th, and I'm really, really low on cash right now. I can still have Gold for a month thanks to GTAIV's inclusion of 1 month free, and it should hold me over for the meanwhile.
No need to cancel. It'll revert to a silver account once the time is up.

Unless he has any credit card information tied to the account. Last time I checked, there is no way to remove it, unless you call MS. And from what I heard, if you have any CC info, MS will automatically re-up your Gold account. I could be wrong, though.

Trade ins to BBV:

Dragon Quest Swords Wii - $23
Death Jr. Wii - $23
Bleach Shattered Blade Wii - $16
Alone in the Dark Wii - $30
DW Gundam Xbox 360 - $35

All as of 22 Sept.

And anyone who sells on Ebay, Metal Slug Anthology Wii is a great flip. Buy for 9.99 and you can sell it for $25+. Already done that twice.
BB ---> GS
Just Cause (360) $7 -> 2.20
Avatar Burning Earth (Wii) $10 -> 5.50
+ $10 for 2 games
Looks like you made a good 70 cents profit there. Good going!:applause::applause::applause:

He did that because it is very, very hard to get store credit at GS. It's extremely easy to have a ton of credit at BBV, but pretty hard to have have credit at GS.

Noob.

Did your CC have the packs marked cheaper than $30? I thought the trade-in value on those were pretty dismal.

They went on clearance for $16.96 earlier this month. Last week they were $11.87 with the 30% off clearance going on. Check out the other threads once in awhile and you'd find some good deals.

I think MS launching a surprise attack on your credit card is just Xbox. CC info is optional, and if you do enter it, I believe there's an option in the dashboard to turn off auto billing.

Well, like I said, IF he has credit card information stored. Also, I've never seen any option to turn off auto-billing and remember a number of people discussing the shaddy auto-billing practices of MS with the 360 on GameFAQs.

I went the the clinic at the site (a big corporate park area) I was visiting (the people I was working with insisted I go). They pretty much told me what the Walgreens pharmacist told me - ice and ibuprofen. Now I'm about 16 hours out and the finger is still numb but the rest of my arm has mostly cleared up (ie, not nearly as numb any more).

I have to get up at 4:30 AM for work tomorrow... Ugh... That's usually when I go to bed back home . Anyway, hopefully it is much better then.

Really :whistle2:k... I happen to have a mint one I picked up today complete with manual and original case to boot. Since I sure as heck don't need more credit I may just do this. Plus it makes my trades even (I have 5 games right now).

I found better things this evening. It seems every BBV has 2 or more Spyros here. And they have all been in near mint shape (converted rentals that were never, if at all, rented). I also got a 50% bonus coupon from a Gamestop. I'm trying to figure out how to use that. My main problem is that I ran out of the Blockbuster credit I brought! I had $20 left and was all set to buy 2 more games when I remembered the damn sales tax issue - so I only got 1 (I can't put even a bit of cash in ).

of course, I was heading to a GS to trade in a Spyro/Metal Slug pair and I forgot to bring the stupid 20% off coupon. Man, that was frustrating - so I had to leave Bust-A-Move and who knows what else sitting there. I'll remember them tomorrow.

As for the 50% bonus coupon, I could pick up an Iridium Runners or I could just go with the Pokemon duo. But with tax those are pushing it (they go from $24.99 to nearly $28 each. With the 50% bonus + Edge I'll get $32. Given the uncertainty there (have to make sure the GS value holds at $20 and once I open them I'm stuck with 'em) I'm not sure it's worth it. But I'd hate to leave the coupon unused...

Also, I saw a set of Rock Band 2 drums at a Blockbuster tonight! That was a surprise because my local store said they had none on order. They were just sitting there behind the counter. The stores here in AZ are much more active with the game selling than my stores back home. They actually have preorder displays set up and have things like Guitar Hero competitions and the like. It is very different from back home where the new games are still an afterthought.

TIV for BBV as of late tonight:

:ps3:WSOP 2008 Battle for Bracelets $20
:wii:Bust-a-Move Bash $20
:wii:Endless Ocean $16 (boooo)
:360:Condemned 2 $15

Glad to see BAM held. Who's the guy that updates the flipping prices on the first page? I just realized it's constantly getting updated, but not soon enough

Actually I do watch many other threads and had read through the Circuit City thread I must have just glossed over that bundle.

It still seems like the ESA pack is a waste of time and gas even with the $5 bonus and at a discounted rate. Guess I was too spoiled picking up copies of DW gundam and Alone in the Dark for $9.50 each and trading them in for $35 and $30.
