Has anyone ever heard of the McGangBang?

I was on another site earlier today looking at "off the menu" items, and someone told the legend of the McGangBang.

Asking for the McGangBang at McDonald's will get you (aside from laughs) a double cheeseburger with a McChicken sandwich stuck in the middle.

I don't want a heart attack, so I won't be trying it myself, but has anyone here even heard of this or possibly even tried one?

Also, in case you were curious, here's the list of "off-the-menu" items I found for McDonalds.

McDonalds

* Biscuits and Gravy - This one may only be available in the South – but it’s the classic combination of gravy smothering hot biscuits.
* McKinley Mac – A big Mac with quarter pounder patties.
* Grilled Cheese - A bun grilled with American cheese inside.
* Big Mac with Quarter Pounder Patties - This is great if you are looking to decrease the cost and calories of the classic Big Mac Sandwich. You get the entire flavor with less meat.
* All American - This is a normal sized hamburger with only pickles and ketchup.
* Big McChicken - This is a huge sandwich in which the chicken patties replace the bun.
* Fries with Big Mac Sauce - Fries smothered in the secret and special big Mac Sauce.
* Chicken and Waffles - This is a McGriddle sandwich with chicken in the middle.
* Neopolitan Milk Shake - 1/3 vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice creams blended together into one shake.
* McLeprichon - This shake is only available in March and is composed of the shamrock shake mixed with the chocolate shake making a mint chocolate shake.
* Pie McFlurry - If you purchase a pie you can have it blended into your McFlurry.
* McGangBang - This is a double cheeseburger with a chicken patty in between the two beef patties.
* Land, Sea, and Air Burger - The Land, Sea, and Air burger, has a beef patty, chicken patty, and fillet-o-fish patty all piled high onto a bun.
* Root Beer Float - You can pick any size of root beer and they will add the vanilla ice cream on top.
* Coke Float - Any size of coke with ice cream. You can even get it with chocolate ice cream.
* Monster Mac - A big Mac composed of 8 meat patties.
* 2 Cheese Burger Meal Mac - Two cheese burgers, fries and a drink.
* Mc10:35 - Double cheeseburger w/ egg mcmuffin

I completely forgot about that one.. I guess they did on the site as well. Thanks for the reminder! I might actually try for that one sometime.

There's also an "Unprotected McGangBang" — Urban Dictionary calls it "different than McGangBang because there is a spicy mcchicken instead of a mcchicken."

Really ?

The McKinley mac is a promotional item that Alaska McDonalds used to run back in the 90s. I don't know if it's still around. It was 'on the menu'.

Actually, the Filet-o-Fish version is the McWhitey.

Have 'em throw some fries on there too and call it a Surf-n-Turf-n-Chips

Combo is $4 nationwide right now so it's an affordable option!

At the insistence of a friend a few months ago, I tried a McGangBang. It was delicious, however I felt like I was on the edge of having a heart attack for about 2 or 3 hours afterwards.

Apparently something close to that has been done and even has a name (from the article linked above):

The McWhitey: a Filet-O-Fish patty in between two McChicken patties with the Filet-O-Fish white sauce

Looks pretty good. Never heard of it till now, think I'll try it this weekend.

It's 750 calories people, you're not going to have a heart attack. Most restaurant meals are packed with more calories, fat, sodium, etc.

I find it hard to believe if I walked into my local McDonald's they would even know what the fuck I was talking about...

not that I would, haven't eaten there in at least 5 years.

Yeah, but its so much cooler to say you're gonna get a heart attack anytime you eat something that has any fat or grease at all.

yep ive never seen a mcds in the south that didnt have b&g listed but it sucks. best place to get that was hardees.

found this link with a list of other off menue items from other well know fast food places.

funny enough chilis actually serves chili lol.

I've had it before. And it's not even something "OMG HEART ATTACK" worthy, considering that I'd eat more than 1 McChicken and 1 double cheeseburger in a sitting anyway... Just eating everything at once instead.

The damn Burger King around here refuses to serve frings. This blew my mind and I actually asked for the manager. I offered to up-size my combo and have them give me a small fries and a small rings but even that was shot down. The manager's only response was that they can't do that here; she walked away when it was pointed out by someone else in line that they technically could do it and asked her "What happened to have it your way?". It was kind of moving to see several other customers rally for frings and point out their fond memories.

Some of these items sound delicious(and stroke inducing), especially the Monster Mac.

Oh and  at the 'secret sauce' on a Big Mac. It's fuckin' thousand island dressing, no big secret there.
Great thread!

I heard Dairy Queen has a massive secret menu
i think its basically you can have them make anything you want as long as its not seasonal items.

did she give you one of those " how the hell do you know about them " looks ?

if anyone else tries to get one of the secret menu items you have to post about it. i cant wait to try a pizza sub myself or some of those jamba juice unhealthy mixes .

dear god yes, i could eat hardees b and c all day everyday, so much better than the paste mcds serves

hell theres actually a hardees here that still serves chicken and hot dogs

No way the senorita behind the drive through will know any of this/ understand what Im saying.

All of the secret items seem to make the food worse... That probably just me though...

There's a Naval base around here, I have tried the Land, Sea, Air burger after overhearing someone ordering it.
Was called the McSEAL.

Not bad.

Yeah, but your chances of getting the squeeky voiced teen to understand what you're ordering are slim to none. Hell, I can't even get my burgers 'plan' or 'no veggies' half the time.

"Uh, sir? I'll have to ask my manager..."

I wanted to start out simple so I just got the Big Mac with quarter pounder patties . They were quick to agree to make it but damn did I stump the poor lady when it came to ringing it up. It isn't bad but it falls apart just like a regular Mac if you so much as glance at it wrong..

while employed at Burger King (15 years ago!!) we made up The Torpedo which was the fish filet cut into strips after frying and put on the hot dog/chicken bun. Not terribly inventive but it was fun. I also loved taking a fresh whopper bun and putting mayo/lettuce/mustard/fries on the thing. Absolutely delicious.

I'll be ordering a McGangbang tomorrow. Even if I have to describe it to get it.

Platteville Wisconsin you can get 'em nooo problem. Popular with the college kids.

Source: Best friend is a college kid from Platteville WI and eats them constantly.

I sometimes get the mcgangbang for lunch. spectacular deal for $2. but i'm too shy to ask for it by its name, so i just put it together on my own...

It's still on the menu. I think it a permanent item now.

I've had the McGangbang - it's not bad, but I felt like absolute ass afterwards (though that's more of a McD's thing than anything else).

I've got a friend who swears some fucked up concoction he calls the Lumberjack as well - it's a double cheeseburger using the McGriddle buns. A truly unholy combination of sweet and greasy.

How the fuck do these people know what's a mcGangBang if they can't even remember not to put pickles on my order??!!!

+1
My luck, I'd ask for a McGangbang and the hefty lady at the window would just give me her number.
I'm lov'n it :D

Wow, this brings me back to my short stint working at McD's back in '01. However, it also brings back some not-so-fond memories when McD's tried doing the hot ham and cheese sandwiches. I can honestly say that some of those stayed in the tray for hours at a time before someone ordered one. Yeesh.

Anyhow, I remember making grilled cheeses for Happy Meals. We had that option available for those who didn't want a burger. It was actually moderately popular. Basically, you stick a slice of cheese between two upside down buns. We used spray butter on the top and bottom of the buns and cooked them on the burger grill for about 10-15 seconds.

After reading this, I must say the McGangBang is tempting. As long as those fish patties stay clear away from me. Lord, those things are terrible.

The only secret menu items I've known about are the pizza sub at Subway. It used to be a menu item. The one in town that's been around for 15+ years has some older girls that know what it is, but I went to one that opened recently and the girl didn't know what it was.

I've heard Chipotle has secret menu items but I forgot what they were? Fajitas?

I don't get these secret menu items...they should have it on a sign on the side...but god forbid the "McGangbang" ever gets posted as parent groups would be pissed :D

I was at Chik Fil A for breakfast one morning and saw a breakfast platter (scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy) on the menu board. Since then I have never seen any mention of it (including the paper menu) yet I still order it every week with no problem.

Would love to order a lot of these hidden items just to try them out. I was really sad that MCD's doesn't make hot dog mcnuggets anymore. I use to eat those all the time back in the early 90's.
