The new (and mod approved) Sony RLS thread
I was told by a Sony rep yesterday that the advocates will have new games show up before non-advocates. I think he said only 30 days instead of 90.

We have a store meeting tomorrow and the Sony rep will be there and he wants questions about ANYTHING. I don't really have anything at the moment but if anyone has any questions I'll check right before work in the morning, 8am EST, and I'll be sure to ask.
thats pretty awesome if you can get games within 30 days, but i hope its for everyone not advocate only. Maybe same day release for advocate and I would like them to put up some collectors edition.
Hey rls folks...anyone here that doesn't use Home social service on ps3 that could hook me up with the Mafia 2 avatar fedora? You just got to answer a few qs to get the codes. If any kind souls could help, I'd appreciate it alot!
PM Sent

I doubt it'd be something like that. I mean, its not like it's hard to become an advocate...so I can't see the perks of being one being that great

Sooooooooo this looks to be the first real test of the RLS Twitter account. On Friday they posted the following, and I asked how soon was soon and the reply:

We're planning to add several new items to our advocate catalog soon! Stay tuned...

-----

@fuss619 hopefully by the start of next week--We'll be letting you know.

And that was on Friday... But to ME "soon" means like in an hour or so, not at least 3 days from now. Still think Microsoft holds the edge with posts like this:

Microsoft ExpertZone Save the date! Points-only reward will hit on Nov. 1st! 1000 wireless mobile mouse 3500 will be posted at 5AM Pacific and another 1000 will be posted at noon Pacific time. Good luck!

I am looking for systems first thing Monday AM.

i too am anxious.

i agree that soon means soon, not days.

to me it means within an hour or at least the same day.

now, interesting, i checked the site rewards today. there is a yellow square pictured in the rewards. it is labeled
US PORTAL
here is the description
en-US Test Download Code - DO NOT ORDER
en-US Test Download Code - DO NOT ORDER
1 pts. + $1.00 Add to Cart »

So, do i add or do i not add? what would you do?

I don't know how i feel about that.

Part of me agree that is it easy to become an advocate, but also, it takes some time. 6 months is a long time. you need to log in once a month, again not hard. truly, they should have made it once a week, or something, but i am not RLS and I am happy i am an advocate.

having said that, if they want to make 30 before new rewards, for advocated and 90 days for everyone else, no big deal. it means that they are trying to be a better provider for those that push the sales of sony.

it is not different that the MS site where you need to obtain a certain level of points to keep your expert status. if you lax for a month, you get knocked down a beg. the points per product are more and the monitary value is more. it pays to keep up to date. same goes for RLS.

the only think RLS has over MS right now is the low cost (money wise) per item. sure, some games are old and can be gotten for cheap used, but some items are not cheaper (IE systems if they ever return)

now i am not complaining about the MS prices. they seem to be half of what the retail prices are. don't know about you, but 50% less is a damn good deal.

Haha, it is very intriguing. I wonder why they put it up there if they don't want people to order it. Part of me would say to order it, but I'm not.

Perhaps someone should ask on Twitter?

What I find interesting is that it says "1 pts. + $1.00." It makes me wonder if they might be doing something similar to Microsoft's Expertzone where you can get items for money and points, instead of points only.

i am semi ok with this. as long as it is not a ps3 system +$100 and the $10 shipping
although, at $100 is still a pretty good deal.

still hoping for the ps3 at t he 20k points and $10 shipping.
(as from what other people have stated before)

seems that way.

i tried to ask if they could elaborate on what it meant. no comment form them , so that is a big fat no. i am baffled as to what it would be for
Yeah. It's gone now. I wonder if that means we check the site more often then they do.
There is a new one now on the last page of the rewards:

Test - DO NOT ORDER
Test - DO NOT ORDER
3 pts. + $2.00

hey if you guys have their account, ask them if they'll post Killzone 3 beta codes... i mean it's a longshot but that'd be awesome!!!

more people that tweet the better the chances?

i posted on twitter asking if they could post some code to members of the rls site.

i did not say to advocate members, i made it sound like it should be available to all members.

New move stuff and move games available, along with systems. But system comes with extra charge like $150 por pspgo and 15,000 points.

hardware bundles and new software is available for advocates.
PS3 is 20k + $200, and $10 shipping
psp3000 is 13k + $75 and $10 shipping
pspgo is 15k +$100 and $10 shipping

damn damn damn.

why could it not have been just $10 shipping.

makes me wish i would have been watching like a hawk 2 months ago

The systems are back.

PS3 Hardware Bundle
20000 pts. + $200.00

PSPgo Hardware Bundle
15000 pts. + $100.00

PSP-3000 Hardware Bundle
12000 pts. + $75.00

God dammit!

Also there's a navigation controller, the pistol thingie and the charging station. Some move games as well.

to go along with that - looks like all the most, if not all the move games are up as well as the PSP game WITH the psp camera, move accessories (gun, nav cont, charging station) are up.

I jumped on the PS3 for $200 and points. Did anybody mention the price last time??? Going back in for the other stuff now.

edit 0- move BUNDLE now up - $50 and 8000 points

edit 2 - the PS3 has this
This Bundle Includes one 120GB PS3, and one copy of MLB10, LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year and inFAMOUS. - not a bad deal.

Hm, great. It looks like the systems probably won't be coming back for just the $10 shipping charge, even for advocates (which I am still not one..).

i want to jump on the ps3 and psp3000, but my wife will not approve of $275. i know they both are fantastic deals for what is offered, but i don't think i will be this time around.

i think i may cry. maybe I need to work some overtime to get her to allow that

Actually those deals aren't that great. If you can get a $60 game for $10 and 3,000 points that's way better than a $299 system for 20,000 points and $200.

i can agree with that.

the system is not even half. even the 3 games included and only $ 20 - 30 each.

sure, i would play them because i have never before, but i was hoping for like 100 for a ps3 system and 50 for a psp3000.

now. i know i sound like all those that complain about the MS site.

maybe i am a being hypocritical

Yea it used to just be $10 shipping I guess they made a mistake last time. Its not even the 160gb version.

I tweeted asking if we still get charged the shipping fee on the hardware bundles and we do. So...210 dollars for the ps3 etc

Wow. A navigation controller for 6000 points. Might as well just grab another controller. (Played with a regular controller, didn't really feel any problems using it.)

If it had been 3000, I guess it would have been better. Since it's a little less than half of a controller, after all.
was it the 160 gb last time
I'm not sure, I think it was the 120GB.

Cool, but I already have a PS Move... And the ps3 systems are dumb being priced at $200 and that many points.
They should lower the points or lower the price.

Wow...I saved up all my points, for nothing....oh well. Tempted to get the PS Move bundle.

Also, I would prefer to buy the $399 MOVE PS3 bundle at this point...although, I'll stick to my OG 60GB with 320GB HDD installed.

i too feel that i saved my points for nothing.

Is it me, but i am truly bummed about this. i mean, i looked forward to this that last few months. ever since they sent out the email about being an advocate.

not to crap on all the non advocates, but i truly feel that the current pricing should be for non advocates. also, if anyone has or has not noticed, there is no (Advocate Item) after any of the newly added hardware, be it the system bundles, PS move accessories or bundle.

again, not trying to say an non advocate does not deserve these items, but i would think if advocates are a "higher" position on the site, the rewards should be "better"

I'm so disappointed. This undoubtedly kills any possibility of another "free" PS3 console being put up. Those of you who got in on that deal should truly feel lucky.

The only thing is...it doesnt take anything to be an advocate. Maybe if there was a certain amount of points you need to get every month to maintain the advocate status then sure..but as it stands just logging in every month is nothing

i do see your point.

To that i say, bring on some way to let me get a cheap ps3.

i am not apposed to paying some monetary value, just not what they are offering.

in the end, i guess it is what it is. get it or don't. i feel that the ps3 bundle will be on the site for longer than a few hours ;)

According to whoever is doing the Twitter account the PS3 was $200 last time also. I really do not recall anything being said about that last time... but whatever. I have been without a PS3 for months now and $100 is $100.

I did also pick up a Invizimals UMD with PSP® Camera for 2,500 points... seems like a good deal.

However - I think the move stuff is WAY overpriced. 5k points for the gun that costs $20 retail pre-discount??? WHAAA? I do not think the move bundle is that hot of a deal either, at least for me anyway since I have the camera already.

Still got 70k points :applause:

i think that i will just have to save up some cash for a few months and then get the ps3 if available when i an ready to by. if the ps3 would have been $200 the first go, it would have been listed on the site for longer. i totally believe that.
no there was no price on the 120gb bundle i won, 10 dollar shipping was all
same here got the ps3 and pspgo $20 shipped about a month ago.
How? You must have spent hundreds of hours doing that (or you got some magic codes illegally).

How does Sony expect for someone to literally take 200 quizzes (at 100 points each) to reach 20,000 points and then have to pay $210 for a PS3. The price is great for a PS3 but requiring so many damn quizzes is absurd.

Those who brag about 50,000 points or 70,000 points. How did you reach that massive amount? Either you have been a RLS member for years and never bought anything or you got (shitloads of) those "magic" codes that Sony reps distribute to stores worth 500 points.

By the way, 8,000 points plus $60 ($50 + $10 for shipping) for the Move bundle seems too much. I can buy on it on amazon for $99.99 and not have to deal with 80 quizzes (literally). $40 savings is not that great in my opinion. If a $60 game can be had for 3,000 points and $10 shipping fee, why not have the Move bundle for $20 shipped and 5,000 points? Doesn't Sony want to have retail employees push these things out the door? First hand experience can do wonders in sales. Just saying...
