The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

Picked up this for $60, he was asking $120 for these games with another 9 bad games and N64 / 3 controllers / hookups. He didn't want to separate, but ended up texting me back 3 hours later wanting to sell them to me.

Was really surprised I was able to get this bundle. Guy posted it early in the morning and I contacted him 20 min after posting it, but wasn't available to meet up until 830 tonight.

He was asking $7 for each Wii game, $6 for each DS game, and $5 for each gamecube game. Most of the wii games weren't worth it at that price, except for mario kart wii and new super mario bros. But he said someone else already asked for them so hes holding them, that same person also asked for Luigi's Mansion.

So, heres what I did manage to pick up from him, got it all for $80
All are complete including unused nintendo coins except for march of minis which has no manual.


These are all complete, this is the first heartgold / soulsilver game Ive gotten used that included the pokewalker, I think Ill keep it. And Im going to play ocarina of time before I sell it.

He said he got dozens of emails all day long asking for the zeldas and pokemon in particular, but pretty much everything really. So im really happy that he was willing to hold onto all of them to sell to me.

In the past Ive had bad experience with that sort of listing, where every game from a certain console is one price. First time Ive been able to buy anything from that sort of listing.

Have playtested all games now, all work perfectly and the worst is light scratches only.

Here's my pickup for today, spent 30 bucks, prob gonna go back because the guy has some systems as well, but I got all the games that I didn't already have. No huge gems as far as value, but I guess the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game goes for like 50 bucks.

He also had a top loading NES, a Model 2 Genesis, a top loading SNES, and an Atari 2600, just have to convince the wife I need it lol.

I know he means weed. I just never seen anybody put on there they will accept it for trade. This person isn't the smartest seller/trader on CL.

Ive seen quite a few people asking for 420 for payment for their games. Also had a few people offer me 420 for games I had listed on CL.

Anyways though, here is my score.

He had a Wii bundle with these games + a lot more video game stuff for $285, I asked about getting these specific games, got them for $70, and then another $15 for skyward sword which I will keep.

An interesting windwaker, haven't seen it before with a kmart logo. Sadly he didn't have the guide to go with it. Also for the life of me I cant find a complete Zelda CE with manual. Have gotten a few, always missing the manuals though.

Man your killing it on craigslist lately, been pretty dry for me on that front recently. Thrift stores have been my saving grace lately

Yeah I really have been getting lucky, lol.
I typically get two decent bundles on CL a week, here I am on tuesday and I already have 3.
I am jealous that you have any luck in thrift stores though. Ive gone twice and I think Ive seen a total of 3 games, all sports.

I used to have luck like that on craigslist, but I think it's down to one good deal every couple of weeks for me. The trick with thrift stores, at
least for me, is to go alot(almost daily) to give yourself a better chance of catching stuff. It also helps that I have 3-4 thrift stores within like 10 minutes of my house, so it makes it easier to visit them on work days or off days.

Ah ic, well I actually have one thrift store that is about 2-3min from my house. It really gets a lot of traffic though, so I don't know how much I would be able to pick up. Maybe ill try and go in every other day for a week or so, see if anything pops up. I might of given up on that store too quickly. Thanks for the advice.

If you're buying the games to flip its pointless if you're getting them to play its a good deal.

They flip very nice at that price IMO. I typically buy anything I can at least double my money on.
I notice a lot of the video game buyers on CL are trying to quadruple their money, that just seems greedy to me.
 
My rule of thumb is to always have what I pick up pay for itself. So if there's like one game I can sell on EBay to pay for the others I bought with it, it's all good. I've been doing it for 3 months now, grown my collection to over 150 NES games, 50 SNES, and more, and haven't really paid for a thing.

All complete. Was going to keep twilight princess for my zelda collection.. but I think I am going to buy the wii version for about $12 shipped and sell the GC version.
