So today I was in a local game store, and they sell all their guides for 5$ (picked up ogre battle 64 guide the week prior) and I come upon a "The Official Nintendo Player's Guide". I look at it, it's all NES games, it's copyrighted 1987, so I decide to buy it to possibly sell, or if it's worth nothing, just keep.

It's basically a guide with 2 page tips / guides / cheats for a lot of NES games.

I'm wondering what it's worth, as there are none on ebay. There was also a mint condition diddy kong racing guide and a good condition killer instinct gold guide. Do those have any worth?

Thanks.

Maybe someone else will know for sure, but I would guess no--it doesn't have any particular value. It seems like general stuff from the NES era doesn't have any special value.

Its worth buying and keeping if it means something to you :)

KI and Diddy are likely not worth diddily squat.

If you are looking for value from Official Nintendo guides, watch for FFIII, ChronoTrigger, and Zelda Link to the Past (fuck I was in a game shop in NYC in 1994 and I spotted the SNES Zelda guide marked .50 behind a counter . . . before I could ask about it this old lady asks to see it and then she talks about it like "I don't know if I should get this or not" as I stand around and wait, she leaves with it. I thought no big deal, I'll see it again. The only place I've seen it is for $30 on ebay)

I'd also say get it if you have a strong interest in it. It typically goes for more on eBay and even if you do luck out getting it as cheap as you'll find it on eBay every once and a long while it'll still be over $5 after shipping.

2 out of 3 that recently ended went for about $15 with shipping.

Also check inside the back cover to see if it still has the stickers that came with it.

haha i used to have nintendo power first issue...my dad would always use it on mario bros 2 with the matching game...i dont think thats what the OP has though
i remember i had this blockbuster exclusive cheat book for genesis and snes..wonder whatever happened to it

oh wait..OP is it like a thin book that on the cover, has a bunch of nes controllers and like nes stuff all over it...i think i might have had that too..a blue square in the middle saying "nes bla blabla" ...i think i had that in first grade
