Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V7! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

Since the V6 thread, we've decided to leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Summer sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Steam Sales - Updated 5/20

CAG Threads Featuring Steam Games on Sale Elsewhere - Updated 1/9

Preorder Deals - Updated 1/10
Group Buy Deals - Updated 1/9/13

Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Past Special Sales

Visit www.steamgamesales.com to check previous sale prices on Steam games. We do keep track of some older sales here though:

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

Steam's explanation and list of Steam-activatable keys

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Wasn't the Defense Grid Kickstarter the one that was advertised and titled "Defense Grid 2", yet the sequel would only be made if they hit their second or third goal (which they didn't)?
You just happened to say the most interesting stuff tonight. ;)

My free game was the Megaman Zero collection on NDS.
Singularity was my choice.

Perhaps, but Defense Grid 2 is still happening regardless.

New IndieGameStand is up, bringing you Data Jammers: FastForward for $1 and adding Brainpipe and Weird Worlds as Steam+Desura keys and Dr Blobs and Strange Worlds as DRM free if you beat the average. Solid pickup for under $2.

Good deal if you don't have any of these yet, but it's a rehash of older deals they've ran. I think this is the first time IGS has repeated their own deals, although it's a better deal this time since it's in bundle form if you BTA.
Glad I was checking this at the airport and was able to log in on my phone and buy Forge 4 Pack with my coupon. I'm sure they will be fixing that soon and you can't beat $3.75 for a 4 pack.
Hmmm, my coupon said no restrictions (I assumed it meant that it was valid even if the game was on sale) I bought it anyway in case I assumed wrong. ;)

A few times in the past games with active coupons have gone on sale and then had the terms change. They started with no restrictions but shortly after the sale someone figured out the stacking discount and changed the coupon.

That happened with the Serious Sam: BFE coupon the first time those went around.

I dislike how they bundle in free games with their deals (Dr Blob and Strange Adventures in this one). However, I like it in that they introduce the free game to me, which I probably wouldn't have found out about otherwise.

At first, it looks like you're getting a bunch of content for the price of BTA'ing, but it's misleading because they're free otherwise. Oh well I guess, if that's what works for them.

Yeah, but at least 3 out of 5 games aren't free, and come with Steam and Desura keys. For the price, pretty good deal (if you passed on Weird Worlds like me).

No doubt that it's a good deal, but it still annoys me a little. =P

well, I'm glad I didn't dillydally like I did with Serious Sam: BFE in case the terms of the coupon are changed. Of course it worked out because I ended up getting it cheaper from Amazon when they were doing those crazy cutrate bundles.
Oh, and if anyone still has a sniper coupon, it had a price drop to 7.99.

I have one, but it just somehow still seems too expensive.

Data Jammers, Weird Worlds, and Brainpipe were part of the Indie Royale May Hurray bundle (and all now have Steam keys available on the bundle key page.)

Good selection of games, but not a good price. You can get most of these cheaper (or the same price) individually during Steam sales.

Kinda what I was thinking too but thought it was decent enough to share. For example, Hitman Absolution, Sniper Elite V2, and Civ 5 Gold on a Steam sale at 75% off would be $12.50 each, and here they're $12.

Also just found this:

Square Enix sale

A lot of these activate on Steam and they're pretty cheap (Hitman Absolution $7.50 regular / $10.00 Professional)

Check the individual product pages to see if they activate on Steam or not.

So anyone from FI/NO/SE/DK or has a proxy theres some killer deals on viagame.fi .... Skyrim for like $6.50 and Dishonored for $10. I'd certainly like to get Skyrim that cheap. Rebbit reports success with proxy but I couldn't get it work. Keys are confirmed to work on NA steam.

Dayum there are too many sales today :whee:

Picked up the Tomb Raider Collection for $12 at GMG and Indigo Prophecy for $3 at GOG. Still want to get a few other games.

Tomb Raider Collection for $15 is tempting... (Steam)
Tomb Raider Collection for $15 is tempting... (Steam)
Its $12 at GreenManGaming with the 20% off code.

beware, you may not get a working key. I just did an order with 4 games on the squeenix sale, all of them supposed to be steam. Only one of them will activate, the rest I get an invalid product code error.

On the order info it says the keys will activate on steam, however they give you a link to a download which will download the game

New Indie Royale

Pid
Cargo Commander
Telltale's Back to the Future: The Game
Dungeon Hearts

I jumped on it for BttF, managed to actually snag one at $3.99 for the first time since they had preorders. I don't even care about the others personally.

If anyone has a spare Dungeon Hearts to trade let me know. :) Sadly, it's the only thing from the bundle I don't already have. I'd say this is the first Indie Royale in recent memory that's actually been worth it.

Indie Royale
The Lunar Bundle is now up includes below

Pid (steam)
Cargo Commander (steam)
Back to the Future (steam)
Dungeon Hearts (steam)
3 unannounced games

Best Indie Royale in a long time, first one I've also purchased in a long long time lol

Thanks, didn't have any of them  1st Indie Royale I bought.
Later on, when the mystery titles are revealed, will I get those as well? Same as Groupees, Humble Bundle?

Today's deal is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City at 66% off ($10.19 or $13.59 for the complete pack)
All DLC is on sale.

Today's Rockstar Deal is the Max Payne franchise.
Max Payne Complete (all games and MP3 season pass) - 80% off ($16.99)

Individual items 75% off
Max Payne 3 - $9.99
MP3 Rockstar Pass - $7.49
Max Payne Bundle (1&2) - $3.74
Max Payne 1 - $2.49
Max Payne 2 - $2.49

I bought the Indie Royale for Dungeon Hearts. I am curious to how Pid is. It looks like I will either love it or hate it do to game mechanics.

I can take BTTF or leave it (have it on PS3) but hey, it probably plays better on PC anyway.

Hm. Not excited about IR; looks like a lot of reruns + Back to the Future, which I have on PS3 (got it for the price of an Indie Royale!).

What are people's thoughts on the R* deal of the day, MP3 for $9.99? Worth it or wait for drop? Also, are any of the DLCs worth having?

Really tempted to pick Raccoon City up but keep on reading too many bad reviews about how bad of a port it is. Not sure if I should just pick up a PS3 copy later on or not x_x.

I'm debating between RC as well. Capcom is usually stingy with discounts so I'm unsure if we'll see anything discounted deeper during the upcoming Summer Sale. RC also just received a general price cut to $30 yesterday.

I'm waiting for it to drop to $5, personally. DLCs seem to all be multiplayer based, and from what I've heard the MP isn't very active anyway.

I saw good discounts on capcom games on gmg 2 or 3 the times, also stacking with the voucher. I bought Street Fighter AE and RE5 über cheap. Both steam keys

Think I'll wait for $5 as well. It's also like a 26GB download. I may just pick it up on console and shelve it forever.

My understanding is the dlc adds 5 single player/coop missions as well. Also several weapons.

I'm debating this myself. If I had someone to play it with it may tip me over but as of now unsure.

For the record, the Tomb Raider Collection over at GMG is a single Steam code. Still a decent deal but not as great for those of us who have owned Legend, Underworld, and Anniversary for ages.
Square Enix sale going on with a separate thread for it. Most stuff is 75% off and most is Steam activated. A lot of same old same old deals going on but American MENSA Academy is 75% off and has not gone below 50% before, and yes I have been checking. :p
Does Deus Ex hold up at all? I've never played it, and have Human Revolution in my backlog, but $2.50 isn't a bad price(?).
