Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V7! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

Since the V6 thread, we've decided to leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Summer sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.


Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Actually, Steam shows you what you're redeeming but you can't cancel it, if you don't want it, it's too late.

I paid full price to show them how much I hate the games that followed Worms World Party. Why did they drop the incredible animation in favor of uninteresting pseudo-Flash? Why did they replace in full the absolutely perfect physics engine? Compare the velocity, bounce, and friction of a worm in W2, WA, or WWP, to any worm in any game since and you'll see what I mean regarding the physics. It was looser with so much more play at the end of a move...God I could go on forever about how fucking great that the original animation and engine is.
 
Bastion was very solid for the weekend I spent with it to get the 250/250 on XBLA. I have no compulsion to go through it again, but definitely worth the buck and the soundtrack is worth the extra dollar or so. I dug the narrator but I could see him potentially being off-putting to some.

I have and funny you say that I literally called it Oregon Trail for adults in my Steam recommendation. Also Organ Trail plays fairly solid on Android but the shoot mechanism can be slightly frustrating.

The price for Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is out, it is selling for $49.99. Guess we will have to wait for some time before it hits a lower price since the game is published by Activision.

I agree with that entire post. As I tell people, LoS was a good game, but it wasn't a Castlevania game, so it didn't deliver the experience I wanted.

The way you summarized it is how I feel about Final Fantasy VIII. It does a lot of unique things, but it should have been its own offshoot rather than a numerated entry in the series.

Yep - I have that Castlevania/Contra PC collection on disc. :D

And thanks for bringing Contra up.
They should bring ALL of the Contras to the PC, as well. ;)

Argh, you lucky so-and-so. ;) I love the concept of this game, but like sunasun said, it will probably end up in a bundle sooner or later. I keep holding myself back from purchasing it during sales for that very reason.
 
I was wondering why I didn't get a key for DLC Quest, then realized that I got the game through the Chosen Bundle and not the St. Patrick one... hope that the developer will get keys for the repeated bundle too...

I got the ST. Pats bundle and I haven't gotten a DLC Quest steam key. So dunno who gets what if any at all. :cry:

Purchasers of the Indie Royale will receive Steam keys at some point in the future. I don't know when yet, but I am working on it!

I need to get the keys, then they need to make their way to the Indie Royale folks, who then need to add them to your bundles. I don't know how long that will take, sorry!

$60 total. You can check regional prices like this yourself by changing the country code tags for the Steam store back and forth by the way.

Try refreshing the page with F5 or CTRL + F5. Some browsers won't detect changes the first time, so it's probably an old cache. Also, not sure how it works if you're logged in or not, but some retailers only let logged in users see prices for their region by checking against IP address and whatnot.

The correct code at the end is ?cc=us; I'd post the whole thing but then we'd have people whining about their store showing the wrong price and oh crap how do I fix it and now I can't buy anything!! :lol:
