Trine 2 cards crashed fast.  They might make a bit of a rally but can't see them going for more than sixty or so cents.  Sold my three for about $1.50ish so I only paid $1ish for the Complete Story.

I'm now going to gift you a free copy just to torment you.

They'll post an announcement on the Trading Card group page once new additions go live.

Man, I played Triple Town for 2 1/2 hours straight last night. Very charming and highly addicting.
Thanks guys for the heads up about the group page. Don't know why I couldn't find that.

I also sank about 10 hours on Triple Town when I first got it - that was a surprise! But now I've stopped as since I figured out how to strategize properly, the games just take too long and I'm not going to sit there for two hours to complete a single level. If there were some way to save in the middle of a level I'd keep playing it. As it is, last night I finally discovered FTL, so I've got plenty to keep me occupied.

Also, does anyone know why I have to keep re-signing in constantly since CAG 3.0 rolled out? Is it a browser problem? I'm using Chrome.
Sounds like you could be rejecting cookies. I use Chrome and do not have that issue.
Yeah, it's weird. My system is all messed up. Ok, thanks for letting me know; I think a reformat is in order.

FYI, They Bleed Pixel card prices have craaaaaaaaaaaaashed.  Looking at making $0.45-$0.50 each (4 drops) at this point.  Prices could rally but I doubt all the way up to the $0.90 it would take to break even.

Is it just me, or is the Market down?

EDIT: Never Mind. It's back for me. Must have just been on my end.

The card drop rate is really weird sometimes. I've gotten cards within 5 minutes before and other times it's been 50+ minutes between drops. :/ I know it's probably supposed to be random, but it needs to be less random. Also grabbed they bleed pixels. Looks interesting, I can make some money back and gives me four more chances for a foil. Worth it.

Just go back to your main base and it'll save your level progress. Click on the appropriate ship to resume the level where you left off.

I got a bluebird on my shoulder, y'all, and she concurs. I think that means I'm getting laid tonight.
Are you a bluebird egg?

Hey kids,

If you bought the Indie Royale July Jubilee bundle, you can now get a Steam key for UnEpic by going here:

http://www.unepicgame.com/en/myzone.php

Just input your email and the key from the In Game Items box.

Now back to your unadulterated non-stop trading card talk.

Thank you. I really mean it.

So what are these trading cards? How do they work? And how do you get them?
They're trading cards, You play the games that have trading cards to get them (you can check which games you have that have trading cards by going to the badge section under your user name next to the community tab.). You can just idle in the menu for them. Then you can either sell the on the market for money, or spend real money trying to collect sets to craft into badges. Sell them.

Pretty sure the card drops aren't really random. I have two steam accounts, and thanks to Indie Gala, I own ARES on both of them. I fired up the game on each account on separate computers and the card drops came at almost the exact same time on both accounts. There was about a 15 second gap between the two. Which is just about the time taken between starting the game up on each computer.

The Steam app should allow for remote Playing now, so I can get the card drops while at work. :)
I know it would be wrong, but just HOW wrong would it be for me to start running Splashpad on my home computer so I can use my phone to remotely start games and collect cards before these markets crash an hour later?

You guys have no concept of marketing strategy.

"Marketing strategy" is irrelevant. There is no way to influence the supply side of the equation, and no way to hoodwink potential customers into believing that a $2 card is better than a $0.20 card.

The card market is pure economics: price moves in relation to the supply and the demand. Prices won't go up until Valve does something to make badges more valuable.
Completely disagree. You'd have an argument with anything that has been on the market for a long time, but the cards were only released two hours ago (an hour before I posted) and as such supply is extremely limited. Your "supply side" argument is therefore invalid. The demand was there, but the supply was not, and people lowballed the marketable value of the cards forcing prices waaaaay down before supply even rose to accommodate a supply and demand relationship.

It's the basis of the Steam trading card metagame to "hoodwink" customers into believing that a foil card is somehow worth $20 more than a regular card, and it all stems from social psychology. Peer pressure forces them into buying cards quickly to be the first of their friends to craft the badge, and any sensible seller would capitalize on that. This Steam trading card market should operate on the same principle as people who buy consoles during release day and then resell them for profit. Sadly, sellers are stupidly devaluing their own goods now and forcing card prices down just to be the first one to sell, and that is completely wrong.

But who am I to say it's idiotic to list a product for 50% less than the only four other products on the market? It only drives down market value and screws everyone out of potential earnings, including the seller.

The market seems to have crashed as a whole.  To my knowledge Monaco has never been on sale (other than preorder), there are only like twenty of each card up... and they're as low as forty or fifty cents.  I don't get it.

Ah, didn't know this, thanks!

Can we stop referring to the market as having crashed after it hits lower prices a few hours after the introduction of new cards?

It didn't crash.

It stabilized at true value after an hour of chaotic speculation.

I've seen a couple instances where someone listed a card much lower than the average high, so I bought it and re-listed it more in line with the higher prices. It's a bit of a gamble but it worked out for me.

So, it crashed.
If Valve alluded to a sweeping change to the level system, and people began investing heavily in cards, driving up the value to absurd heights, and then Valve changed its mind and cards became worthless again but we had all already invested at bloated values, that would be something I'd be more comfortable calling a crash.

This feels like an emerging market finding its feet.

How to get an Unepic Steam Key if you bought the July Jubilee Indie Royal Bundle:

1) Download the game from your Indie Royale Page or on Desura using the Desura key.

2) Open the game, click the "sign up" button in the top right and input your email.

3) The game asks you to put in a password it has sent out theoretically. In reality, it wants your serial key.

4) Your serial key isn't the Desura key on your Indie Royale Page, use the "ingame items" key that starts with iroa from your Indie Royale page.

5) After putting in your key, go here and use the account you just registered to log in: http://www.unepicgame.com/en/myzone.php

6) Click the "request steam key" button. If it goes through, you've got your key. If not, you have to wait for another key dump. The developer gets them in limited quantities and has had to request more multiple times.

So people buying games for cards, buying other cards to resell, Valve changing the rules to let anyone get foils, more games getting added, people panicking and trying to sell now causing other people to sell now...

all sounds like something I would call a crash. And I would probably not peg the true value of most cards at what it currently is.

x2 foils, It should actually be around $100 for cost of games and i sold a few tf2 keys on the marketplace so that adds $1.90 per key. So figure $100 of pure profit so far.

I sold all my cards and started investing in a more stable market.

Ooh, Defender's Quest was the one Indie game I bought during the Winter Sale and played right away before it (not) being bundled.  Already had it installed, so I'm getting its cards first.  Also own ARES and TBPixels.  This update, it pleases me.

Ah, yeah I can see that as doable. I've made about $45ish just finding one foil and there's at least a dozen or more games I don't have so didn't farm cards for.

I really want to try out Gnomoria but my backlog says wait for the finished game to be bundled.  Where is Motoki with an opinion when you need him?

Guess I'll dig ARES out of my Crap tab and get some cards. I guess it can make itself useful somehow. I was hoping Witcher 2 would hit 75% off like it has in the past, but I'll be waiting for the summer sale now.
