This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

GreenManGaming currently has the Borderlands 2: Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 (UVHUP2) for $1.24 ($1 after coupon, and $0.90 after coupon + the weird $0.10 credit.)
Is this part of the GOTY? They have both 1 and 2 for this price...plan on getting the GOTY version at some point.

Hurrrggh... My Assassin's Creed Steam collection is pretty important to me and the only game I don't have through Steam is the first one, I have a DRM free version of it from Direct2Drive.

Do I double dip for $5 to get the full series on Steam? I don't really even like the game. I could rationalize that I used free card money to pay for it I guess.
No - not at $5.

You didn't even care for the game - so why buy it again? {shrug}

It's not like the of AC1:DC version you'll buy on Steam will have extra content or anything not in the other-version.

The Steam-version doesn't even have Steam-Achievements listed!

I say if you still have the files from D2D or it's now in your GameFly account as DRM-FREE - just install it and add your DRM-FREE copy from D2D/GameFly as a Non-Steam game.

{shrug}

If it winds up in say a HB, Groupees or one of those; and it's in the $1 tier and there are Steam-keys in there - yeah, then I'd say go for it. :D

EDIT:

I have the same problem! I did see Jake was selling it for a little less than $3, which is not bad at all. On the other hand I also didn't really care for the game and am unlikely to pick it up again. I think I'll wait for the Humble Bundle. The only other AC I own is 2, and it has long been backlogged.
Stop backlogging AC2 - that's one of the most improved games and best games of this past generation, IMHO.

The improvements AC2 has over AC1 is absolutely staggering.

AC3 Deluxe, and no damn $6 bta, or gtfo
I'm missing Deluxe portion of AC3.

If I do wind-up liking AC3, maybe I'd jump just for Deluxe just for the DLC.

For those who have all of the AC3 DLC's - how are they?

How long is each DLC?

Or in total, how many hours you get out of ALL of the DLC's put together?

EDIT:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/32848/

You're a few hours too late: he already bought a copy for $2.88
Well, $2.88 is certainly a better deal than spending $5 on something that one didn't care for.

The good news: this sale will never end

The bad news: You are in your own personal hell. You will never find a deal suitable to spend money on, and every time there's a community vote, the option you vote for will lose

Welcome to Hell, Warreni
Eh, the hell is looking at my bank balance and realizing I can't even afford Steam sale prices. I guess that's what I get for balancing my checkbook.

Is it me or are the Community Choice and Flash getting severely worse?
On a positive! Just beat Hotline Miami! The ending was... good I think? Reminds me of Killer 7.
Good, you think?

Ummmm...

Did you get the regular ending or the secret ending?

EDIT:

So, someone traded w/ me - gave up a few of my TWD cards (since those will cards stick around and I can try to get those again, while SG cards don't) - and I got more SG cards in this trade.

So, now I only need Snow Globe 8. :D

Sounds like a pretty solid HIB. I'm in.

I don't know anything about the show, but after watching the trailer it looks like an indie title. How the hell is that thing's retail price $40?
Apparently it's based on a pretty popular show on Cartoon Network about a kid and an anthropomorphic talking dog who have weird adventures. Hell, I don't know. The last cartoon I watched with a boy and a talking dog was this.

I'll resume my preliminary Spelunky experience: "Is this all? Dying, dying, dying... and restarting the level again and again, without any saving option?"

Then...

"Whaaaaaat? I've been playing for an entire hour... straight??"

I don't know how they did it, but the game is addictive and awesome. Is hard as nails if you don't know what you're doing. I'm reading some tips and I'm improving. Maybe it will come in a HB soon enough, along with Guacamelee!, but I'm enjoying them both right away I even forgot to play TSW!!!

Would be an awesome bundle! I would buy copies for my wife and children ;)

RE: current votes

Bought in to the Early Access of SNOW because i'm a big fan of skiing/snowboarding games.  This one is incredibly raw.  It's has definitely improved since "launch," but it still has a long long way to go.

Also picked up Pool Nation early in this sale, under the assumption it wasn't popular enough to get a featured sale and I was mildly afraid of running out of gabenbux to use on fluff.  This one is great.  Physics feel great, there is a ton of control over the cue and your shots (10 minutes into the tutorial and you're pulling off masse and jump shots), and it looks ridiculously beautiful.  Worth the $5 I dropped on it, definitely deserves a look if you ever enjoyed the genre.

Oh, this better happen!

I'd so be in for at least $1.

About BTA - depends on what the price is at. ;)

Wow, Gianna Sisters looks amazing.

Is it good? I'm not a huge platformer fan, but it is on sale and I can't seem to stop buying cheap games.
It's beautiful, has excellent controls, and is very very hard, yet not overtly punishing. I hate platformers and usually give up after the second or third level. Stuck with this one up 'til the first boss fight...even gave that part a good 30 minutes of deaths before checking it off the backlog.

I finally had my PinballFx 'in the zone' game and worked my way up to 2nd place on the Darth Vader table. Sadly most of that score was for Ball #1. I should have paused and taken a break to uncramp my hands.

Ok. It's not pretty enough to overcome my dislike of platformers and hard games.

Thanks!

Good to hear as I voted for Pool Nation. Though that pretty much assures it won't win.

Tried Guacamelee.

It's not a bad game but it's one of those metroidvanias where 3 seconds in it lets you know hey, your going to be backtracking right when you start the game because literally in the first room, there is unreachable areas.

I hate that.

Alright, Steam Thread.  I'm going for my Saturday morning run.  After I return, I will check the thread, and the person who has quoted this post with the closest guess as to the distance I ran (American standard) will be gifted my extra copy of Don't Starve.  I was thinking of offering it in trade for a copy of Savant Ascent, but I think this will be more fun; AND I get to add to thread bloat; AND it gives me reason not to wimp out before I hit my target distance because I'll have to acknowledge publicly how far I ran; AND I may just run a little extra just because.  So, yeah, have at it.  I won't say when I'll be back, but I will be hitting the sauna and shower afterward, so don't assume that a longer absence means a longer distance and continuously edit posts.  Whatever distance you guessed at the time I see your post is what I count as your guess.  This contest is not in any way endorsed by Facebook or its subsidiaries.

I'm going back to the DLC discussion as well: Is Borderlands 2 GOTY edition worth waiting for cheap, or should I just get the vanilla version for $6 on GMG?
Go GoTY.

On the chance that you like it, you will have some very fun stuff to do after you've "completed" the game. It also includes the Psycho and Mechromancer as playable characters - two of the most fun, imo - as well as a few other things you will appreciate.

welll u know bl2goty has been 75% off twice on getgamesgo already so u know u might as well wait for ultra complete compelte ccollet for bl2

You know, a lot of us already own BL2 (base game).

They should (also) have a GOTY Edition Upgrade or something for us BL2 base-game game-owners, to make things a bit cheaper for us.

I really wouldn't want a BL2 base-game key go to waste, by buying BL2 GOTY - since I already own BL2 base-game.

I liked how Civilization 5 had the Gold edition upgrade. That was pretty awesome of them.
