Borderlands 2 co-op question...

Assuming the host is a greater level than the others in the party, I read that the non-host(s) will unlock all missions that the host has already done and XP will be given accordingly.  So, my buddy is a level 1 and I'm a level 50, if I host will that bring him all the way up to my level?  Just seems a bit...extreme.  I'm assuming this has no bearing on T/UVHM status, however?  Can a Level 1 even enter a TVHM game with the host?  Sorry, co-op newb.

It won't bring him to your level but you can power level him by killing stuff he'd  be too weak to kill, for huge XP rewards for both of ya. Like he can hide in the corner while you kill a boss and then he might receive enough xp to reach level 5+ from that one kill.

I power leveled my Mechromancer in this way for playthrough one cause I wanted to get to true vault hunter mode asap. I joined a game with this guy who was killing this raid boss solo over and over while I hid around the corner.

If you complete missions in co-op that you haven't reached yet in your own campaign progress, you'll be given the option to skip them when you reach them again. I've been in games with some pretty big level differences, so you shouldn't have any issues with a level 1 and level 50. You won't instantly level your buddy up to level 50, but they'll gain exp faster if you're killing level 50 enemies near them (and keeping them safe, as they're likely to be one-shotted by that kind of opposition).

Hello!

Nabbed a few decent deals from this thread so it is time to give back. Yes, these are old games. Yes, most come from bundles. However, I am sure somebody will want them. No point selling them or listing on Steam Gifts. Couple of these are Origin codes. Tell me if you take them.

I3YDE-0HJBE-WG72P - Burnout Paradise (Steam)
5WXP-RGP8-YRYV-NBJ7-HCAS Dead Space (Origin)
GP5V-WXAT-BYUC-XBNT-2PLB Burnout (Origin)
962J-WVG4-PDRA-4R5T-CDER Crisis 2 (Origin)
ET8Y-ENRT-SGQC-GAWJ-YG3W Medal of Honor (Origin)
GLRR-46MC-BZJH-WBXU-JC9C Mirrors Edge Origin
6FNW-PSNE-8VZD-EE8P-MSC4 Command Conquer - Origin
8NBGN-9WKKB-I3PNR - tropico 4 steam edition
I grabbed Dead Space. Thanks alot .

I never use the codes people give out here but I have not played the first one and just Downloaded origin the other day for the 5$ C&C deal. So I felt it was meant to be lol.

So, could I say roll back into Normal and [customspoiler=spoiler]re-kill the Warrior with him waiting at the Fast Travel and would that open up TVHM for him (taking level and experience out of the equation)?  Or do I need that actual quest active?  I'm thinking the latter.[/customspoiler]  I'm just trying to figure out a way to not use a save editor in order to get him to have an enjoyable co-op experience in BL2 with me.

One of the big faults of BL2 is that you almost have to be withing a level or two of each other or the lower leveled player becomes cannon fodder.

You can't have someone join as you kill the last boss and have TVHM/UVHM unlocked for them on their machine (though they can join someone else's TVHM/UVHM game. The only missions you'll be given credit for are those that are redeemed when you're in the game. All previous will remain locked until you reach that poin, when you'll be given the option to skip ahead.

It's not too difficult to level someone quickly, though the closer they get to you, the longer it will take. The Warrior takes quite a while to kill. You may have better luck leveling (and then killing) the Varkids in Tundra Express. The Bar Brawl in Torgue is another good option. Alternately, you could consider this more boring option.

Thanks. It looks like I'll probably just copy and edit one of my saves for him then, as I at least want to get him into TVHM. Not being a PC (or Borderlands for that matter) person to begin with, I want him to have a fun and I don't think he's got the patience to really go through the modes fully on his own or have me kill everything in his path for him.

I did manage to get my Gunzerker down to about < 2 minutes to kill the Warrior in TVHM. That is assuming he didn't toss me into the lava on the way across the walkway first. Not as good as some vids I've seen, but respectable enough for me.

I'm not sure if it works anymore, but I remember hearing that playing (and failing) the side mission Cordially Invited: Tea Party on TVHM in co-op was the easiest and fastest way to level up a new character from 1 to 50. Here's an old post I found:

So some people think that Terramorphous is the fastest and the best way to boost in borderlands 2. It's Not, I would say that Tiny Tina's side quest boosting is the way to go I am making this post because everyone is terramorphous boosting and it's so slow compared to Tint Tina's boosting method. I honestly like this way a lot better I've hosted for a while and I got a lot of Vouches from people that joined.

What you need to get the most Experience :
True vault hunter mode(Beat the game on normal mode)
2+ people
and beat the campaign on the second play through

Steps:
1. once you beat her main story mode quest she will have a side quest
grab the first side quest and do it, it will be about her tea party and getting her guest

2. then once you complete the first side quest she will have a quest involving Flesh-Stick

3. have the lower level stay at tiny Tina and the other (pref level 50) go to where flesh-stick is and kill all the guys around where he is

4. Then kill flesh-stick he will give you 6+k Exp unless your 49 you'll get about 5.5k Exp
This is the fastest way of boosting it takes about 30-45 minutes from level one to 50

5. after you kill flesh-stick The quest will fail so you will have to get it again that's why you have the other guy there, get the quest with the other guy (If you do it to fast it will glitch up. I usually wait till shes done talking to do it just to be safe/ If You mess up Save and quit and rejoin or teleport out and back in and go back to the spot )

6. Then kill Flesh-stick again and then as many times as you wish until you get bored or or don't want to level anymore.

Now on GetGames...

Get Loaded 2 for $7.50
Warner Bros. Sale
XCOM Games Sale
Might & Magic Heroes Games Sale
Extra Terrestrial Sale
Mac 30th Anniversary Sale

A couple notables deals...

75% off The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (Steam) - $7.50
75% off Borderlands 2 GOTY (Mac/Steamplay) - $14.99

Edit: It seems odd that the Borderlands prices for both the vanilla and GOTY versions are on sale for $14.99, but at 50% and 75% off respectively. Read into that what you will. Nothing in the Mac 30th Anniversary Sale except BL2 GOTY is 75% off (except CoD4:MW which is already out of stock).
That Borderlands 2 GOTY price is definitely a glitch. Grab it as soon as possible.

The downside to farming the warrior though is that you have to reset the game each time.

Also... don't forget the gear! He's gotta have good gear to match those stats. ;)

I love me some Defender's Quest. It's a fairly simple, but fun, TD game with some RPG elements (story and leveling). If you're remotely interested, you should definitely pick it up now and play. It's worth more than bundle fodder.

I actually did that (though not getting behind the area since it has been patched) for a couple of my later charachters where I powered them through Normal without doing any side missions and ended up with a level 27-28 character heading into TVHM. Bumped them up about 5 levels over night and gave them a better start to power through TVHM.

You know, I had the same thought until I just received an email from GetGames advertising it for 75% off. I still find it odd, but would still suggest that if it is wanted to grab it sooner rather than later.

I'm just going to say fuck Steam yet again. I waited for this to hit 75% off during the winter sale, never did. Bought it at $5 because I like TD games and Flowette speaks highly of it. Loved what I played of it so far, so no regrets, but stuff like this is still complete bullshit.
Agreed. Once I buy something, steam should never lower their sales prices again.

What Hal sad.

DQ is excellent. I'm not a massive Tower Defence fan but I loved this. I you don't already own it, but it now. Great game.
I've only played a little, but I like it a lot.

Alternatively, you can get the first game for free with a preorder of the sequel (Humble widget, so you get DRM-Free copies of both, as well).

That defender's quest sure ain't pretty.

Hey the smiley I tried to add doesn't work. It showed a different smiley and then the & symbol after.

Nah. Aspyr regularly goes deep with sales quite soon. That's 3rd or 4th time I see B2GOTY (MAC - but whatever) at 75%off.

+1 to recommend defenders quest. It's a great TD+Rpg game. I got mine for free when Lars (the dev) gave some 100% off coupon right before they launch in steam.

I think this is their last attempt to garner more fans as they're making DQ2.

It's ok. I liked the idea of it, but the gameplay didn't really work for me. IIRC, there were weird difficulty spikes, and it was kinda slow paced.

Anyway we could possibly cut down on the pictures?  I already have to defend me visiting this video game site all the time to my wife.  Explaining away tons of pictures of half naked women makes it a lot more difficult.

Ill bite on DQ I got a decent chunk in my steam wallet plus it has cards. Since it comes so highly recommended.

Yea, i could go for a drop in the pics also. I love the community here for the most part...but just posting pics of hot girls isn't much of a contribution. I have google for that.
