This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I... just may wait for a sale on the remaining two Headhunter Packs. The last couple have been woefully short (I know, I know, that's the whole idea) and even paying a few bucks for a couple more hours might be stretching my limitations a bit. I've still got a few characters in their 60s that need to get to Digistruct Peak, so I'm not exactly hurting for more content at the moment.

I was sad there was no stream today...it make my last hour an a half of work go by fast
Aww. I was shocked how many people turned up today despite me saying there would be no stream on Wednesday and to check the schedule :D

I'll be back tomorrow at 7.30pm GMT with Kerbal Space Program.

that's PST, yeah? I'll definitely check it out while I study for my accounting exam.
Now, THIS is PST:

Well, thanks to the tips, I updated Origin and got the Town Life offer. It didn't appear in my inventory in Origin though. I guess I have to wait 72 hours. I have a feeling this is something that EA didn't really get quite right from a technical standpoint.

I prefer the looks of Jets'n'Guns Gold
Picked it up, it's a fun side scrolling shoot-em-up. Nice visuals, cool music, tough as crap so far. It just released on Steam today but it's been around a while apparently. It's on sale for 50% off @$3.49 so it was a good price to use up some of my steam wallet. It's got cards too.

Edit: It's tough as crap on the first level UNTIL you read some of the instructions and find out you have credits to upgrade your weapons before the first level

Not that anyone cares much, but I finally completed all the challenges and related achievements in Guacamelee. I'm only missing one achievement - clear the game in Hard Mode.

The only difference I'm noticing between Normal and Hard is that enemies do more damage in Hard. But since I already know where everything is... I'll probably rush through the game in a day or two.

Yay.

Did you buy it from Origin? That's where mine is... apologies if I led anyone astray.

(I guess I should assume Steam... since this is the Steam thread.)
Freebie (yesterday?)... had to use my Origin login.

What was your total time spent so far? The biggest complaint I've heard about the game is that it was too short. How much time did it take for you get everything in a normal difficulty playthrough?

I beat the game in... 9 hours. It took me four or five more to do the rest of the stuff in the game - beat the last boss with the female character (done immediately after clearing the game), get the real ending (took me a while) get all the items / sidequests, talk to giant chickens wearing a chicken suit, clear all the challenges, beat the boss with the devil's outfit, clear the challenges with specific costumes...

Two challenges were especially tough - you have to get a 400 hit combo (this took me lots of tries to get because I always got hit around the 300 mark), and in another, you have to get a 140 combo - without using throws. They're your best offensive move because it can knock down almost everyone and it racks up combo hits like crazy.

Hell, for the amount of money I paid for this, I got my money's worth. No complaints here.

Now that I know where everything is, I think I can beat it in 8 hours. But I'm not a speed runner.

Cool :) I think I'll buy a copy next time it's on sale, or see if any of the sellers still have one. Lenght was the only thing I was concerned about. And if you haven't yet, I recommend you check out Valdis Story. Excellent brawler platformer with a large vania world and plenty of secrets.

Something something gonna be humble bundled eventually. :p

Slightly unrelated, I picked up a Hori Fighting Stick EX2 today for seven bucks and tried it with Skullgirls. I can't get used to it! I'm so used to normal sized arcade sticks and concave buttons from over 20 years of arcade gaming and these are too ... flat and the stick is too short (that's what she said ho ho ho blah).

Looks like it's a week or two of re-training with multiple fighting games.

I know, I know. But it looked really cool and I had an urge to play a side scrolling shoot-em-up =/

Surely it won't be 75% off or in a bundle for at least a month.

I'm going to post this in here in an effort to give regulars a chance for them first...

Anyhow, I got a few really good coupons that I'm not likely to use... If anyone wants them please PM me. (note: I'll be tomorrow, so the coupons will likely go out then.)

Portal 2 90% off

Jane's Advance Strike Fighters 90% off

Totally free... All I ask is that you redeem the game in question and don't try to turn a profit on my kindness.

Note: People on my steam's friend list will get priority minus spoderman . (He's already gotten two free games from me.)

(warreni even more so. I owe him for two games at the moment.)
nice, all the coupons steam gives me are crap

who wants an add 33% to the price of bad rats coupon?

FYI it works even if you don't own the base yet.
sweet more dlc for a game i don't have. (i'll get it when the price is right though) or just wait for another free weekend.

Anybody who wants my PID key, PM. It looks like something I wouldn't ever play unless it was at gunpoint.

Hey, don't piss him off or he'll throw radioactive spoders at you!

you better play that game and like it.

Yeah, but I want it now!

(Even if I'm not going to play it anytime soon.....ever)

do they ever? ;)

at least it's not as bad as their take all our 20 dollar or less games for free sale.

but thanks from the rest of us for ensuring this will be in a bundle :D

So, I got from the free giveaway Sims 3: Town Life Stuff Pack and it's showing up in my Origin account...
....but NO serial key came associated w/ it!

LMAO!

{contacting EA Support}
The Sims 3 Town Life Stuff Pack now shows a key on my origin account. I think they fixed the issue.

way to stick it to the spoderman
He's gotten both Gary's Mod and Megabyte Punch from me for free... but trading for more than a buck each in the trade thread... He's done well enough that he can miss out on a coupon or two. ;-)

The coupons have been handed out. Thanks for everyone who pmed me about them. :)

Uh.. No. I got Ride'em Low from you which is a much worse game lol. I got Megabyte Punch from IGS.

TBH I don't think you did me any favors gifting me Ride'em Low. That's about the same as gifting someone Bad Rats.

The thing is, I didn't want those coupons.. I own Portal 2 (who doesn't at this point), and I didn't want Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters. You technically didn't need to exclude me.

For a big giveaway, I could've understood.. but coupons, really lol.

EDIT: Oh, and the Garry's Mod you sent was a reciprocation for the Silenthunter 5 key that I sent you a couple weeks prior.. (or at least I thought it was)

I have 4 Dead Island Epidemic Beta gifts to give out to the first 4 people to PM who actually want to play the beta.  It's a MOBA according to the site and I've only played it for one session and just did the tutorial, but it was pretty cool from what I played.  Nothing like the regular DI series though except for it being about zombies.

I was just about to message you and Neuro about this. Glad to see you got your beta gifts. It should be more stable than what you tried in alpha.

PMed but probably late.

PSA
Dream Pinball 3D sucks (I mean, Lost Planet-level sucks.)
This poses an interesting question: What if we combined the two to create a Lost Planet Pinball 3D? Would the equal levels of suck negate each other, leaving only the good? Hey, it works with other things that suck; it's no fun having to vacuum, nor is it fun being married, but wife + vacuum = greatness.
