It annoys the shit out of me being around my family in closed quarters for extended periods of time, because inevitably some sort of conversation comes up that I don't want to have, and ends up being a pain in my ass for a while.

For example - apparently, the state of Texas has decided that if a fetus is killed at any stage of development, someone can be charged for murder. So if someone killed a woman who was 4 weeks pregnant and thus was not showing, they can be charged on two counts. Further, this ruling does not apply to abortions.

Now, my mom is fairly religious. She always has been, but she's stepped it up in recent years. So she's reading from this article at the breakfast table (which is already annoying me, because I can't understand why ANYONE ever wants to discuss morbid or disgusting things during eating, which is something my stupid family does in spades and without failure) and talking about how outrageous it is. And no one ever says anything. None of my sisters are here, but they never say anything either (the eldest is another Bible thumper, the middle one is just quiet, and the youngest is just a bitch doesn't care because she thinks she's always right).

So I bring up the fact that abortion and some sort of criminal murder happen under different circumstances, but I make very clear that the end result is the same. Because of that, the situation is entirely different, so it most likely needs to be looked at through a different viewpoint.

And this just sets her off and my dad. And they both ask me why I endorse murder and all this all nonsense. And I completely have to reiterate that abortion is not a criminal murder, and they just tell me "well a fetus dies in both cases," etc etc.

See, no one in my family ever responds to my mom whenever she says anything A) controversial, or B) debatable. And it irritates the shit out of me because she's fallen into this pattern lately of saying infuriatingly incorrect things, but no one ever says anything. And I'm tired of that. But at the same time I'm tired of having to get a lot of "wtf-u-r-dum" sorts of responses.

It's like dealing with fanboys. Shit.

The conversation ultimately morphed into my mom telling me that "there has to be a universal truth in the world," to which I argued that is vague and subjective. She pursued this with, essentially, "I don't care" arguments. Wonderful.

This is the same kind of shit when you hear someone quote one of those ridiculous mass e-mails. You want to call the person a shitbag for doing it and refute what they say, and then they complain that you're a douche.

Great.

(CBS) PRESCOTT, Wis. A middle school teacher in Prescott, Wis. has been fired and the Pierce County Sheriff is investigating claims she had sex with a 13-year-old student.

"It's just shocking to hit Prescott like this," said Tom Riley a Prescott resident.

The 38-year-old woman was a substitute at Prescott Middle School.

The student's father said he found the two having a middle of the night rendezvous together at the teacher's home after the boy stole his mother's car.

Sources said the woman's husband and 13-year-old daughter were home at the time.

The father filed a restraining order which claims the two had sexual intercourse. He said he has copies of e-mails between the two.

Zach Simones, who coached the 13-year-old boy on the seventh grade football team, said he is sickened by the incident.

"He was dating the lady's 13-year-old daughter before this happened," said Simones.

The woman taught at both the middle and high schools, but the superintendent said his investigation has turned up no other students who were involved with this woman.

The school superintendent also said the teacher and student did not meet in the classroom.

I do know that if I get in on the Amazon Vote's deal with the 46" TV they had up there, I'm going to buy it if I get it at the vote price. Runner-up price, not sure.

TFN, was the set you picked up the $550 one at Target? If so, that's basically the set I bought last BF for $699 + $70-something shipping w/no tax from JR.com .

I checked the specs in an earlier OTT, might've been for you, and you should like it. Only difference is the return-to-depot warranty for the 2-series.

360, PS3 and Wii all look great on it. Assuming the same port layout as on mine, some of the ports are a little bit of a bitch to get to, so keep that in mind when you're hooking it all up.
 
No oine seems to buy used PSP games. My Gamestop had a greta selection. Ended up getting War of the lions, brave story, and tales for $63. After the $15 in pricegrabber rebates that's $16 each. Not bad at all.

I'm probably two hours wawya from beating ratchet. Hope to finisht hat tonight. The play and beat heavenly sword over the weekend.

I've got a 52" projection set like that, and it looks fantastic.
Not sure how much of a difference 1080p would make though.

Its got 2 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 S-video, and a headphone jack. :p

I've got That Triple hooked up to it right now and it looks awesome. Very pleased... and for 20 bucks more, I had to. If CC wouldn't have let me return mine I just woulda strolled back into Target and returned it.. or walked in with it and probably would've gotten an offer since everybody went bonkers over the damned TV.
