Exchanged my $9.99 new copy of Eragon last week for $49.xx in store credit at Wal-Mart; went back today and was happy to see BioShock was only $48.00.

Total for my copy of BioShock = $8.xx, and I still have some money left over in store credit.

Man, you guys buy a lot of games at full retail price. Thats nuts.
well when we play next gen games you don't always have a choice.

Sorry that we can't find our games in bargain bins for $7.99
...Why is he Rob Thomas?

Pardon my ignorance.
Because that's his name.

And was this OTT made to fuck with me? :bomb:
I'm not sure if games can actually be worth $60.
I bought Bioshock for $55, am only a few hours through, and already know it's worth it.

Deals are great, but if a deal can't be had, that shouldn't say not to get the game and miss out on a good time.
I'm not sure if games can actually be worth $60.
Unless it's some sort of special edition I don't see myself spending $60 on a game.

I don't know why people bitch about the prices of games now, games were just as expensive back then at launch as they are now. :booty:

Picked up Bioshock 360 + a Shadowrun guide($0.01) at Best Buy for $48ish after tax but I can't start playing it until it gets dark. :whistle2:?

I did see that they had 5 Wiis while I was there, are those things still hard to find?

They're not missing out entirely, they're just waiting. In the meantime, they can get some real value by playing some of the games they've already bought that are just sitting there. The experience will still be there waiting for them when they buy whatever game it was for $20 or 30.

Its like the new Fire Emblem. I really, really want to play it. But its $50, and Path of Radiance is 12.99 used/14.99 new. Under those circumstances, I think I can find something else to do in the meantime.

I guess I'm too patient for my own good.

Caved in and dropped 50 bucks on bioshock since neither hollywood or blockbuster had it. Oh well, I can always trade it in towards Halo 3 after I beat it.
I still need to get Resistance and NG. I keep checking the local store I have around here trying to score them for cheap, but no one has traded them in yet.

VF is definately a 360 buy because of the online play, unless it is so broken that it is unplayable.
Resistance was picked up when Amazon had it as their DOTD for $39.99. NG Sigma was full price, though I had a $50 GC from Amazon I used towards it.

VF5 for me is also on the 360 for online play, and I already have the stick for it, from the DOA4 stick. That one I might wait out and see how the online play works out.
Man, you guys buy a lot of games at full retail price. Thats nuts.
Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and H3 were gimmies at release for me. HL2 2 OB was my entry point for the rest of the HL2 games, as I went through HL2 on the Xbox, stutters and all. Rest of them were games I was interested in, and the pre-order bits seem to be worth it at the moment.

more expensive*

I get the money saving thing but for some games there's something to be said about the experience of playing it while its current. To be able to discuss it with your friends, coworkers, and on message boards, etc.

It's like watching tv shows ... sure Prison Break will always be great and will be just as fun to watch 10 years from now. But there's something enjoyable about watching it now while its on and being able to discuss it with people. Plus its a hell of a lot easier to not learn everything there is to know about the game before you get a chance to get to it.

Assassin's Creed didn't look so hot after the trailers I saw during E3. I was hoping it would be more Prince Persia but, sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case.

You wont be alone being late to the party though. If you started a Fire Emblem thread at Penny Arcade for instance, you'd find other people playing it too, but also the people who played it in the past will still come in for a word.
Man, you guys buy a lot of games at full retail price. Thats nuts.
Just because I listed off a lot of stuff doesn't mean that I buy a lot of stuff at full retail price. I just usually don't buy much of anthing anymore unless I really want it. I bought 5 games total this year and have pre-ordered two others. All of them were purchased through some sort of deal.

Aside from Unreal Tournament all the games I listed I will probably find some kind of deal on as I don't really have to play them day 1. I hope TRU B2G1 free deal shows up at a good time.

And sometimes stuff is worth full price. Gears of War was definately worth the 60 dollars I spent on it as I have gotten a hell of a lot of enjoyment out of it, and spent almost all of this year playing it.

I think we go through this every so often. Half of us here are gamers who regardless of price are going to get the newest games when the come out regardless of the price. We're just here to try and find the best deals on the games, but If I have to pay full price so be it. The other half here are truely cheap ass (Dr. Mario Kart) or just too poor to afford new games and trying to find deals in their price range. (everyone below the age of 17 on this board)

Then his Paypal account has the wrong name... and he lied when he said his last name was super-Mexican.

Yes, somewhat.

I'd agree about GoW being worth full retail, and I haven't even dabbled in the MP yet.

Even that I didn't pick up at full retail price. The last few games I picked up at full retail were my first few Wii games, Crackdown and God Of War 2, from my credit abundance at EB from October.

Jay even agrees with the fix.

Ryles, when your brother was wearing your 360 headset, while you were away, I asked him to ask you if you could lift fridges, and he says to your other brother, "Is Andrew moving? His friend wants to know if he can lift fridges."

I had to mute my mic because I was roaring.

Assuming that everyone here only cares about price. I love this site for games I'd never buy for full price (FFIII and Loco Roco for $14 each, most recently), but some games I'll buy regardless. Galaxy and Brawl come to mind for me. I want that shit, and I'm going to buy it day 1 for $50. I love cheap games, but I also like new games. Doesn't make me less of a "CheapAssGamer".
