Looks to be pretty good with some great actors on board for the show.

Here is the official website: Tin Man (CAG support link) and crazy flash site that is incredible: http://www.scifi.com/tinman/oz/

yeah i caught the commercial a few times this week and considering the cast and the look of it it does seem interesting.
The DVR is set but the reviews so far have been pretty bad... it does look interesting though...
Today is the day to see if it is good or not. Hoping with some of the actors in it it will be good because the costume and graphics look decent.

Just watched it and I had a more entertaining time trying to remember what movies I've seen these actors in (Walking Tall, Elf, Scary Movie 2, and X-Men 2).

I'll get to this later this week... or whenever the DVR runs dry (the "Scheduled" shows listing is effing depressing - there's practically nothing coming up). I still have 3 episodes of Heroes, tonight's Chuck and one or two random CSIs that I've been recording because I know I'll be hurting for TV in a week or so. I think the DVR is at 54% right now and that includes "The Polar Express" and the "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" for my daughter - it hasn't been this low since the summer.

I think so far it is a decent twist to the classic. The Wizard of Oz is my all-time favorite movie and was hoping that this mini series would be somewhat decent. So far from part one I'm enjoying it. I think alot of the negativity stems from how the story strays somewhat from the original. This in my opinion helps the mini series define itself. Sure not everyone is into Sci-Fi, but it is the perfect genre to recreate this classic for the modern era. I'm just glad it didn't go down the road of The Wiz. Don't get me wrong I enjoy watching the Wiz, but it tried to hard when it came to the musical sequences. I get it already Diana Ross and Micheal Jackson are in your movie. I'm looking forward to the next two parts and can't wait for the DVD release. Now all I have to wait for is a big screen version of "Wicked".

I'm actually enjoying this movie so far. I like these fantasy/gothic style movies.

But then again when you look at the options for other shows...

I liked part 1 and I'll be tuning in for the other two parts.

I think it's the first TV miniseries I've been into since David Copperfield on TNT.

I recorded on DVR and it sounds like people hear like it. Can't wait to watch it when I have the time. So will the next part be on next Sunday? How were Zooey Deschanel and Kathleen Robertson?

It's on tonight and tomorrow night also (3 nights with re-airring in between).

ZD is the best part of the series, Neal McDonough is quite good as well.

Kathleen Robertson is power-rangeresque in her acting approach toward villainy, she is not awful, but kind of corny.

Finally found this thread after searching a bit. I've been really enjoying the series so far. I'm going to catch tonight's repeat at 11 PST or 1 PST since that's how I've done it for most of the series since I can't see the 9 edition. So far I've bene really really enjoying it. I like spotting the differences/figuring out what sci-fi elements they've inserted into the classic story and to figure which adapted element corresponds to the same element in the book/movie, such as the warrior munchkins at the beginning, the one guy with the truck-wagon (he's the mustached guy from the movie, correct?), etc.?

I've really enjoyed it overall.

I also throw out that The Wizard of Oz is one of my absolute favorite movies (in my top 5) and is one of my favorite books/series of books as well.
I just sort of assumed it would be terrible because it was on Sci-Fi. Was I wrong?
It seems you weren't because it's not very popular thread.

eh i wasnt expecting much and overall i didnt get much. i like the diff takes on the classic characters like the tin man that was a cool twist but man zooey deschanel holy shit has she always been this bad of an actress? i dunno if thats how she was told to play the character or if maybe she was goign through a bad time then or what but in that whole first episode she felt like shes was phoning it in.

maybe the last 2 episodes will pick up a bit but as of now the tin man and the lion were the most interesting things in this movie. i did like the weird moment where the evil chick
seemed to be preparing to strip naked only to stop to show her monkey tattoos and bring them to life. she played that up very well.

I was a little dissapointed. Then again every miniseries on scifi now has to live up to the BSG mini. I really wanted this to be good, but it has a bunch of that "bad scifi" feel to it, especially with the villians' acting. I'm not sure if she is written that way or just a bad actress.

Hopefully the other two parts are stronger.

I have only watched the first part of the series...it was ok...it was different...it was low budget..but it was interesting take on the classic
