Twisted Metal - Feb. 14th 2012

Wow didn't know they had a date set for it yet. Wonder if they will have a CE for it and what it will be. This game will be a day one for me.
Am I the only one that has seen nothing but "Meh" from this game so far?
Yes.

I can't believe its been 10 years since I played TMB on PS2. That game was amazing; almost better than TM2.

:) But Twisted Metal 2 is just... :D UN BE FREAKIN LIEVABLE... wow.. I can't wait when this gets released, the graphics are awesome lol, looks a little like Carmageddon as well :D

With the Battle Wagon you can let up to 2 partners "park" in your trailer and they can use turrets on your Battle Wagon. Instant Mad Max.

The helicopter is the next coolest addition, all and all, just really innovative for the franchise.

TMB is one of the few games I have held onto. I cant beleive it was 10 years ago. Wow I feel old. Seriously though TMB is better than TM2. The next gen graphics at the time blew me away.

im not too big on a "factions" idea, but i will hold judgement until i see more footage. i am excited for it however cuz its twisted fuckin metal
I hope this game does not have preorder bonus characters...Oh wait
The article says preorders will grant early access, not exclusive access, meaning the character can be unlocked through progress in the game.

hmm wondering if the specials will be character based or vehicle based now. Loved the originals will probably give this one a rent.

The Dev needs to learn some new curse words. Really quite pathetic and ultimately tarnishing my perception of the game for no real legitimate reason other than he should have kept his mouth shut. Other than that I'm looking forward to this game.

Not really feeling the whole Transformers-esque gameplay. I think this game is trying to do too much and that might take away from the overall game rather than add to it. Visually, it doesn't look all that good either.

As long as there are different modes and playlists, such as classic for some good old simple car combat, I'm all for more additions.

From the interviews I've seen, it seems like Jaffe and co want to keep old fans happy as well as new, so I still have high hopes for this one.

I feel like Twisted Metal Black is one of the most slept on games of all time.

I'm really looking forward this new TM. But, the new features sort of seem very gimmicky. Hopefully they end up being fun and not broken.

You guys can call me Philip J. Fry, because on Valentine's Day I am going to kick some Twisted Metal ass.

(Hope that's not too obscure.)

day 1 purchase for me.. I used to play the hell out of twisted metal head on for psp online.. the online for that was incredible.

Obscure to me, I have no idea what your talking about. :)

Hope it lives up to the hype. This better be good...I'd state the time since the last game, but look what that did for Duke Puke'em. If this gets good reviews, I am in. I mean, who wouldn't be in for multiplayer mayhem?

I may actually buy this game on release. I think the last game I bought on release day was FFVIII.

Any info on pre-order bonuses? I might as well get something if I am going to pay full price for a game.

I'm going to try to see if I can blow up buildings to find hidden messages in the game. Its going to be wonderful taking this online with my friends I hope rainbow dash is game.

who downloaded the demo? im quite rusty at this, thats for damn sure.

online is pretty messed right now with barely anyone connecting. jaffe said via twitter they are working on it.

The single-player challenge mode is really difficult. I couldn't kill more than two guys. And the matchmaking wasn't working at all for me.

I see why this style game went away. I loved TM back in the day but so far this didnt impress me. I played one match online and one single player. Kind of boring. Graphics are just like the old games, just higher res, meaning they are not nice to look at for the most part. We shall see...

agreed fuckin hell the controls are a complete clusterfuck of unnecessary confusion if it has a custom layout ability then good because it needs one if not i expect alot of people will be frustrated by the way things are laid out.

why the hell the shoulder buttons could be speed and reverse while weapon select is on the d pad is beyond me. it could be a fun rental but id pick up the new ssx way before this.

i hope this doesnt die by the hype.

Yeah I was like wtf with the controls should allow for remapping didn't even care to check played a challenge single player game and got off couldn't even connect to multiplayer. Tried the syndicate demo was actually having some fun. Going to wait it out for Twisted Metal and see how the reviews sway. So many good games coming out in the next couple months.

I haven't played the demo, but TM games have always had 3 control setups. I am not sure if they have gone full custom though. I think "deadly force" was the standard in out house.

Jaffe's been tweeting like crazy about the game. Apparently the game will be much easier than the demo. I really hope this is another case of bad demo good game.

Really guys ? I played the demo and loved it. I han a hard time getting use to the controls again and fighting the first 10mins. But got the hang f it and destoyed everyone easy. If anything I felt like this demo was to easy. And Ian not a giant tm fan and couldn't beat tm black unless with help. I was unable to test online.

The demo makes want to lean towards cancelling my pre-order, its been years since I played a TM game but I remember it more as a racing and shooting game, not just shooting for destruction's sake, if the game isn't going to have much of a racing element, I might wait for a price reduction on this one.

racing in twisted metal? what?

the controls were awkward at first, but i got used to them quickly. once i realized where the actual health pick ups were, i killed all 6 guys fairly easily. i used the meat wagon.
