Twisted Metal - Feb. 14th 2012

OK, I started playing SP this week, and I'm stuck on the 4th(?) Sweet Tooth Mission, the one with the teleporting electrical arena that you have to stay in or else take damage and the whole map is winter themed.. Any tips on this?

There's no garage so you only get 1 vehicle, and it seems like all the opponent AI goes after me and keeps pushing me out of the arena so I keep taking damage,. I usually end up dying at the part where the cage moves to the top where you drive around on the ice rink and there's no traction to drive around.. lol it's very frustrating. :(

oh yea i know what your talkin about sinistar, yea that part is kinda tough but i think you can switch cars in that one but just stay in the electric cage and when it gets to the ice part just use the turbo boost and fling the controller foward and jump also

Try focusing on one of the weaker vehicles first (like Crimson Fury) use the freeze weapon and attack them close with the shot gun for a lot of damage. Learn where the health pick up are and the weapons and remember that ramming enemies is effective as well. There are garages it's just a matter of if you want to risk going there. I would also suggest using Sweet Tooth for this level and transforming into sweet bot so you just fly out of the ice, but you can also drive along the edges if you need to get out.

Yeah I ended up beating that one with one of the fast cars. Tried to avoid combat and just went from zone to zone grabbing health along the way. Build up some good weapons and stick and dodge rest of the way. Im struggling with the level with 2 Juggernauts in the Grimm story. Game is a bitch on twisted

Again, this is the best game on PS3 that no one is playing. It is so incredibly hard it makes beating every level such an accomplishment. I usually dont do single player but I started this on twisted and I intend to finish it! Just started the Dollface story

The MP is still horrible as far as connecting to games, but i have seen very little lag so thats good. And you will be hard pressed to find a MP game that is as FUN as this bad boy right here.

I just got Twisted Metal yesterday and played a bit last night. I didn't touch the single player yet (but I will tonight), but man, the multiplayer was easily the most fun I've had playing games online. The gameplay is great, it's fast and exciting the entire time, and the soundtrack is awesome. I've played Twisted Metal before, but many years ago, and wasn't a big fan...but now, it's on!!

I did have lots of connection issues last night, though. It took me a few minutes to get into a match because of network errors. Then in two of my matches I was booted due to network connection issues. I never have network issues with other games, so I know it's not my internet. It kind of sucks though, because I was kicking ass in one match, getting kill streaks and all that, and it was only my second match, so I was proud...then I got booted and have nothing to show for it :whistle2:( lol

Also, does anyone know what Axel is going to cost when released? I can't find it if they announced it yet. I'm trying to decide if I should just wait or try to get a code now. Thanks!

The soundtrack is great in this game but better yet the option to play your own music, just imported 4 CDs to my PS3 for this game.

I did not realize this game featured custom soundtracks. I will have to consider it more now as I love rocking out to my own music destroying thinigs.

Online servers down? It just loads forever this morning, won't even let me play offline.

Edit:working now, it's happened to me a couple times before, seems to happen in the early AM.

The online is still a little janky, but my problem is the community for this is already mad small. It needs a price break or something to increase sales so we can get more peeps online. Seeing like 30 games total is a joke, and makes it hard to find more than 1-3 decent rooms

Who needs their own music soundtrack when they have supplied you with a custom soundtrack done by Ler Lalonde, Buckethead and Brain? Only game that gets better than that is Infamous 2 which has the 3 of them plus stanton moore with galactic.
Seriously, this game is only on my radar because Ler worked on the soundtrack. Ive been waiting for a lower price cuz Im broke but it excites me to see so many people enjoying it.

Do any CAGs still play this game? Looks like Axel is free for all now. I am determined to get the Tank though. Just need gold on Sweettooth boss level and Grimm boss level

I haven't played online yet, still trying to pludge thru single player lol

Well, two months later and I'm finally getting to this game. Normal is way too easy so far, but learning the maps first without dying every two seconds will help once I flip over to twisted. So did they update the controls or anything since release because I recall tons of people were bitching about them in the demo. They feel perfect to me so I guess they were just baddies.

Really disappointed how they carved SP because of the MP. I can't believe there's only three contestants to play as. I see why they did it because the MP is balanced around each gang, but it breaks tradition of TM being all about seeing why each psycho was there. Sweet Tooth's story was awesome and only having two more characters to play will make the game too short. Do more modes or ability to play as anyone unlock once you beat the game? Seems real stupid to me that you're locked to certain maps for each character.

The game is awesome, just like the old TM games but this one feels too constrictive in terms of being able to do what you want.
Hey is the online still jacked up? You get kicked in the middile of the 2nd game. I stopped playing for that reason.
Nope. Fixed up now
I still have it, just haven't been online much lately to game. I'll probably be around this weekend though.
Would love to get a couple games in with ya. Hit me up on GroupMe if you ever want to run it.

Totally loved the Single Player, the length wasnt too bad since on Twisted they take you many many tries to beat. This is my favorite game of the year so far. Outstandingly difficult Single Player with an awesome story, and great fun Multiplayer with Clan support.

Yeah, I'm seeing how they make each storyline harder than the last. I can't imagine doing the Grimm boss fight on twisted because it's such a chore of running up and down the map. I suppose that's why they let you continue from the last checkpoint of the fight, but I'm actually turned off by the fight alone. It's just plain not fun.

I haven't tried the co-op yet but is it as simple as I'm playing through the campaign, get stuck and can have a friend pop in to help? Just wondering if the co-op campaign needs to be on a different save or can be continued solo, etc.
