Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.
You only got 12 dollars for Halo 2? I thought there were supposed to be 20 dollars now.
According to the trade-in value list on their site, Halo 2 Regular edition should still be getting $12. Too bad for the fine print though...

It was a special trade value that they were giving last promo period. If you end up going into the store, they should have a sign hanging from the ceiling with 10-12 games on it and their trade values listed on it.

FYI
During the last trade 3 get extra $10 and for this one the EB & Gamestops in Nashua, NH wouldn't let me use the Edge card to bump the price up 10% since "I was already getting a deal"

They're not supposed to let you use the edge card with the 3for$10 bonus. Some CSR might let you get away with it, but as always YMMV! You best bet is to find one that doesn't really give a fuck.

Actually, they ARE supposed to use the card if they have it.

Pez says otherwise:
Stores should be well aware of this promotion. They did receive signs and e-mails this weekend. If you run into an issue just call up corp works everytime.

Edge/GI stacks with the promotion too.
The Edge stacking should just get added to the OP so there's no confusion.
if someone from CAG payed 70 bucks to change the color of their DS Lite they should be banned!! BANNED!
Nice avatar.
Nice avatar.
thanks!

I just traded in:
ultimate spiderman DS $5
polarium DS $2
Enter the Matrix XBOX $1

With the deal I got more than I payed for these three games! So thanks OP!

I brought a fourth game just in case, and they were going to give me:
Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 XBOX $1

Turned around and picked up Madden 06 for the 360 for $15 (I lag a year on Madden like a true CAG), Ninja Gaiden for $10, and a brand new copy of Max Payne 2 for $2.
I think any game works, besides sports, racing and wrestling games.
People in this thread said the minimum was $1 now, but I think Max Payne 2 fetches $.50, ever since it dropped to $2.

Hmm, they've really been trying to give away Auto Assault. First it was Guild Wars: Factions, now any game?
Boggleworthy. Don't you have to pay monthly for Auto Assault, or am I mistaken?
Well I replied before saying that I traded in Gran Turismo 3 and got the bonus but here is the proof they should take racing games. It say it only excludes 2K6 sports games and wrestling games.

Yeah, I was just wondering because I called to ask and the Gamestop lady said I couldn't trade in racing games.

The issue was solved a few posts down.

New values for the wiki:

:ds:
Nanostray $6
Dig Dug DS $6

Updates for the wiki:

:ps2:

Gun $8 up $3
Bujingai $5 up $1
Ratchet Clank 3 $5 down $1
Crazy taxi $3 up $0.50

:gc:
Zelda Collectors Edition $22 up $2
F Zero GX $3 up $1

:ds:
Zookeeper $3 down $1

All in all I traded in 15 games today(NOT Zelda CE though) for ~$158. I had paid around ~$150 to get them all and I had beaten/got tired of/hated them all.

When I can break even on games I buy and play that's a win in my book.
Yeah, it's just like you rented them for a verrrrry long time. ;)
Better actually. Cause you spend money to rent ;)
Better actually. Cause you spend money to rent ;)
Better than better actually. You got $8.00 for playing them. ;)

I stopped in the EB that I was told I would get all 3 bonuses and the manager told me as long as I pre-ordered "The Godfather" he would give me all 3 on no matter how much stuff I bring in. I am going to gather some more games and trade them in on Saturday, when I know he is working again.

Traded a bunch more stuff in today.. I turned $60 cash into ~$110 credit, paying off the rest of FFXII LE, FFXII LE guide, and most of Guitar Hero 2. I'll probably flip one or two more times just to see if I can cover the rest of Guitar Hero 2 and maybe the Gears of War CE.

Oh I should mention the one game that actually already belonged to me that I traded in, Doom 3 on XBOX.. I found a CE at Toys R Us today so I got rid of my old one (worked out since I only found 11 $2-3 games at one store).

:xbox: Doom 3 - $3

Alright, I got a couple new trade-in prices

Yoshi Topsy Turvy: $7.92
Donkey Kong Country 3: $8.91
Nintendogs $15.00

I'm probably not going to trade-in Donkey Kong Country 3, but Yoshi and Nintendogs are out of here.

Wait. Does the $10 extra for 3 tradeins INCLUDE GBA titles???? It doesn't say so on the fine print. Or are you just listing tradein prices?

I was told they were, but maybe that is YMMV? Maybe I should try and get down there today when that person is working. Otherwise, I'm SOL since I don't have any other games I want to get rid of.

Wierd that the :gba: prices aren't of the $.50/.00 variety.

I traded in Ghost Recon (Xbox), Rainbow Six (Xbox) and World Championship Poker (Xbox) for $14.30 in credit. I ended up buying Haven, Smugglers Run and Powerdrome for PS2. And School of Rock, Reservoir Dogs and Thomas The Tank DVD. Cost me $2.00 out of my pocket. I have to go trade in some more stuff.

The GBA games listed aren't the base trade values... those have the bonuses added into them. My guess would be something like this:

Yoshi Topsy Turvy: $4.00
Donkey Kong Country 3: $5.00

GBA games ARE NOT included in this offer, so if you ended up getting the bonus, someone at the store that took the trade messed up. Lucky you for getting a bonus on the though:applause:

Those are the base values, he gave me over the phone:

Yoshi Topsy Turvy: $8.71
Donkey Kong Country 3: $9.80

And Nintendogs is $16.50.

That is just after the Gamestop card, not the pre-order bonus.

...............

Hopefully they will take 'em, I haven't traded them in yet, I just asked the guy who took the call if I they are participating in the 3 for $10.00 and if these are okay.

Haha, fuck. I didn't want to waste the time to drive over there if they weren't going to honor it. So I recalled the guy to reconfirm that they will take those GBA games and he said "If they are over $4.00 I'll take them for the 3 for $10.00." And then paused and said "Actually, wait. I can't take those, I just read the email and it didn't include those."

He did tell me to try calling another store that might not know the details, but since he does he won't do it. :D

Called for the following (all GameCube):

Rainbow Six 3 - $3
Luigi's Mansion - $4
Baten Kaitos - $7

After all fun bonuses, that should total up to $27.94 which will just about cover a Summon Night 2 preorder, if it's in their system yet.

Edit: And miraculously, my estimate matched the actual trade-in, so $27.94 is on Summon Night 2. Definitely had to run back to the store after leaving my expired Edge card there... with some $700+ store credit on it.

Sadly no DS Phat screen protectors at my EB. I guess I'll have to start calling around since I got a big rip in my touch screen protector somehow. Not sure if continuing to play Starfox Command would be a good idea.

Can you please tell us what $2-$3 games you are finding at TRU?? I see nothing less than $10 there when I go. Are these hidden clearance gems (ie, not marked) or what? You keep saying you are getting all these games but not giving titles - please tell!

Sorry, I meant to say I was getting $2-3 games at other GameStops, not at TRU.. only thing I got at TRU was the Doom 3 CE.

Traded in the following:

Gamecube:
Mario Party 6 W/Mic $16

Ps2:
Matt Hoffman Bmx $1
Mega Man X8 $5
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance $3
Ready To Rumble Boxing Round 2 $2
Syphon Filter Omega Strain $1
Worms 3D $4

Edge/GI stacks with the promotion too.
If this is true, why is it so hard to get employees to honor this? How do you get them to consistently honor this without making a big deal of it? They usually say it's one or the other. I also found this on the EB/GS website:

Cannot be combined with any other offer.

My GS didn't have any PS2 Powerdromes, but they did have one copy for Xbox. How much is it, anyone know?

Strange, I've traded in three times now for this deal and each time the employee has been fine with accepting my More card.

Traded in 15 games earlier, will get my reciept in a bit and get the prices down, and ended up pre-ordering pokemon mystery duegeon which I payed in full and not only did I get the special little guide, but they also threw on the extra 20% toward the preorder which made the game come to about $26 or so.

Consistently would be to tell them to read there e-mails.

Call Cust Service in the store on your cell, and they should force them too.

Cannot be combined with any other offer.

You are confusing offers and the eb edge card. EB Edge card isnt an offer. An offer is like 20% extra trade in toward Pokemon Mystery Dungeon preorder, and Trade 3 get an extra $10. You cant combine these two for instance.

EB's around here always honor the Edge card, however NONE of the Gamestops will honor their card as part of the promotion. I really don't get it.

The local Gamestop also won't put leftover credit on a card, while the EB's here let you put all your credit on an Edge card if you want to. I hate the local EB here but I feel like I'm forced into trading there since the GS is full of these kind of made up rules.

I guess I won't be dealing with them.

I still need to go to EB one more time, to trade in a few games, to either preorder DDR SuperNOVA or pick up Dead of Alive 4 (Xbox 360). I want DDR SuperNOVA badly, but I have so many friends (who I will add when my Xbox 360 comes to me early next week) that have the game and would love to play them. Maybe I'll just find more games to get rid of, since I don't really need most everything I have. ;)
Cmon Botticus, of course it's in the system... hell, EB / GS lets you preorder games will into Winter 2007 ;)
Well, even though you're being facetious, it wasn't in the system when the first game came out a couple weeks ago. They've got a serious disconnect going on between the website and store system. Particularly for the Wii, it almost seems as if every game that is not on the website is available for preorder in store, and vice versa.
EB's around here always honor the Edge card, however NONE of the Gamestops will honor their card as part of the promotion. I really don't get it.
Must be dealing with older managers that don't read the emails. They have sent out emails several times saying the card does stack with the promotion. The old POS that Gamestop used to have didn't allow stacking of the GS/Edge cards, so I'm guessing that is the reason behind this.

The thing about leftover credit not going on a card is in part that they didn't integrate that into the Gamestop POS yet. They still give out the paper credits that you can hold on to and use another time. If I'm not mistaken, they should be putting credit on cards starting in October sometime (I think that is what I saw in one of our memos a while back).

The credit on cards has already started in GS stores in certain stores
The TRU $3 games are Blowout (Xbox) and Syphon Filter (PS2) at my TRU. Hope that helps.
Damn, one store I was at had several Blowout but they were marked $8 or $10 or so and I didn't bother scanning them... Oh well... That's not a HUGE deal as $3 cash -> $4.76 EB credit isn't worth the touble of going back there :D. (Plus it might actually be $8-$10 at my TRU as their exact prices are YMMV).

Went in this evening and traded in a lot of stuff. So for the wiki and others heres my trade in's.

Ok now that we got that done with: After i traded in that i had 179.49 in credit

Now for the bad part i was trying to trade in the Zelda OOT/MQ sealed and they freaking forgot to add it to my trade list. And to top it off it would have neted me an extra 32 bucks.

And my store said i could not stack the preorder special 20% off. Also they hadnt heard about the 10% off preorders so if someone has a employee code for this please do tell. The new Pos at gamestop have not been updated with it or do not have it.

I'll be calling the district manager tommorrow to speak with him about the crappy way they handled the trade deal and about that 20% off.

Payed off a DSL pink and got testdrive so i'm happy with that for the time being.

soon promotions will be consistent on stores and the ymmv stuff will end.. yay for upgraded pos systems

Pez, the hassle I have with GS employees stacking the More card with this promotion is that they just say "It's either the $10 bonus or the More card, not both." They don't even try to do it until I ask them to just try it and that's the whole reason why I bought the stupid card. It doesn't matter if the POS system is upgraded if the employee won't even ring things up the way you ask.

The gs by my hasn't upgraded by me. I was gonna preorder a couple and I couldn't because they couldn't take the freaking edge card.

arggg!

traded in: prices before bonus
FFX-2: $8
R-Type Final: $4
Godfather ps2: $14 (didnt trade)
Sonic adventure 2 battle GC: $4
Tekken 5: $7
Warriors of Might and Magic: $1
got 10% more/edge and they gamestop finally put the credit on a card this time! Looks like some NYC places are updating the POS.
Max Payne 2: $.50

Can I put GS/EB credit on a GC like Gamerush or do I have to spend it at that store.

Also, which place should I trade in (GS or EB)? Are the credits at each place usable at the other?

If the POS is old Gamestop will put it on a printout which you can use at any Gamestop. EB puts them on Edge cards. Right now its still YMMV as to which GS will take Edge credit and which EB will take the GS printouts but it's being phased in at the moment it seems. Soon they all will be on Edge cards.
Anyone know if Hot Shots Golf 3 would work towards the extra $10?
Seeing that it's not an annual release sports game, I'd assume it's a safe trade.
