I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.
If the POS is old Gamestop will put it on a printout which you can use at any Gamestop. EB puts them on Edge cards. Right now its still YMMV as to which GS will take Edge credit and which EB will take the GS printouts but it's being phased in at the moment it seems. Soon they all will be on Edge cards.
Well I went to a GS and they put the credit on an Edge Card. Here's what I traded in:

Rogue Ops XBX - $1
Final Fantasy PS2 - $8
Tourist Trophy - $16

Total w/ Bonus: $35.99

Not too bad...

Hmm, I just assumed everyone put them on the Edge card. The employee Gamestop in the Irvine Spectrum center put it on an Edge card and had no problem considering the Edge/More card for an extra 10% trade-in credit.

All of these are Xbox
Psi Ops 1.00
Kotor 2.50
Street Fighter Anniversary 7.00
The Thing 1.00
Burnout 3 3.00
Riddick 2.50
Fable 4.00
Guilty Gear X2 2.00
Metal Gear Solid 2 1.00
Mortal Kombat Deception 5.00
Ninja Gaiden 3.00

These are GC games
Return of The King 3.00
Viewtiful Joe 2.00
TIme Splitters 2 2.00
Tales of Symphonia 8.00
These are GC games
Return of The King 3.00
Viewtiful Joe 2.00
TIme Splitters 2 2.00

Tales of Symphonia 8.00
Thanks for those. Debating if I really have any interest in Viewtiful Joe after getting rid of 2 and DS, and I'm wondering if I have time to finish TS2 in the next two weeks. Doubt I would replay it ever again with TS: FP.

fucking clerk at the EB in Smithhaven Mall tried to tell me that he couldn't accept Project Gotham Racing and Hot Shots Golf Holiday Edition because they were sports titles, and then told me that I would only get a $20 bonus instead of a $30 bonus because I have 7 XBOX games and 2 PS2 games.

What a dumbass. I drove over to the Funcoland not a block away and traded all of them in no problem.
Must be dealing with older managers that don't read the emails. They have sent out emails several times saying the card does stack with the promotion. The old POS that Gamestop used to have didn't allow stacking of the GS/Edge cards, so I'm guessing that is the reason behind this.
Then that must be why GS wouldn't stack it... they did just switch their POS recently too. I might head on over there and see if they'll do it now. Does Gamestop give an additional 10% on preorders as well or is that just EB?

Here's some of the trade in prices I've had them check for me the last 2 days:

Xbox

Dakar 2 $1
Sega GT/JSRF combo $1
Silent Hill 2 $5
Max Payne 2 $.50
Dinotopia $1
Half Life 2 $7
Manhunt $2
Silent Scope Complete $5
Burnout Revenge $8
Outrun 2 $1.50
The Thing $1
Gladiator Sword of Vengeance $2
Shenmue 2 $1
Fable $4
Destroy All Humans $6
Beat Down $3
Metal Gear Solid 2 $1
The Warriors $6
House of The Dead 3 $6
Mech Assault $1
Genma Onimusha $1
Ninja Gaiden $3
Rayman 3 $1.50
Metal Arms $1
Splinter Cell $1
Halo $4
Xbox Music Mixer $.50

PS2

Timesplitters $1
GT3 $1
Burnout $3
SOCOM $1
X Squad $1

Hope this helps!

these trade values always look sad but after bonus + 10% etc. it becomes pretty decent. EB/GS always has random things to buy anyways

Anyone know if they will accept that pinball game and fishing game from the 3 pack you can get at wal-mart for $10 or do they count those as "sports games"? Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks.

They will accept the Pinball and Fishing game from the Walmart 3 packs. I think they fetch a good price. My local Walmart's do not have 3-packs in stock.

Just did a run at EB.

PS2
Shadow Hearts Covenant - 16 (7.50 at Blockbuster)
Y's Ark of... - 8 (10 at Blockbuster)

XBOX
007 Everything or nothing - 1 (4.50 at Blockbuster)

With 10% and bonus 10 - 38.50 (not too shabby to move GR credit to EB)

Hey... just got back from my little trip to EB-Games. Realized when I got there that I had brought Tiger Woods '06 for PSP... and they didn't use it as part of the promotion. Same goes for Sega GT/ JSRF

Anyways, here's my haul:

PSP:
- Tiger Woods '06(not in promotion) - $11
- Legend of Heroes - $11
- Tokobot - $6
- Prince of Persia - $7
- Syphon Filter - $14
- Me & My Katamari - $14

DS:
- Sonic Rush - $7
- Brain Age - $8
- Zoo Keeper - $3
- DS System (Special Edition Mario Kart DS....) - $40

XBox:
- Ghost Recon - $1
- Amped - $1
- Rainbox Six 3 - $1
- Robotech - $1
- Sega GT/ JS - $1
- MechAssault - $1
- Elder Scrolls III - $2.50
- Rogue Ops - $1
- Starsky & Hutch - $1
- Shenmue 2 - $1
- Star Wars Clone Wars/ Tetris Worlds - $1

And just as a test I went to GameCrazy to see if they had any cheap games. They had a deal (which you guys probably know about) for 3 for $10 ps2 and xbox games there on a rack. I went through them and got 6. I told the dude working there about the gamestop deal and he didn't think the games would be accepted (considering 2 of them aren't accepted in GC's system) so... I spent a little under $22 buying the games after tax, and got about $28 in trade-in value after the $10 and Edge card bonuses. Heh... made a little bit :)

Total Outcome: $206.55, before bonuses it was like $133.... I'd say a 60% increase is pretty huge.... THANKS GUYS!

For Bay Area CAGs looking for a good 3rd disc, the Pleasant Hill, CA TRU still has tons (according to another CAG, they ordered way too many as a mistake) of We Love Katamari at $10.48. Trades at $12 at EB/GS. With the bonus credit ($3.33) and 10% EDGE, you get $16.87 for the price of $11.39 (tax included).
Are disc only games valid this time around also?
the clerk let me trade in my disc only games. seems like if you go to tade and ask them prior to ringing up, they will tell you your outcome. if they demand cases, just say you need to go look for them cause they are in storage or something. you are trading your games in from a cd wallet, right? clerk was surpised my games looked mint (seeing as how I had just opened the case to trade in the disc only, I just told him I take care of my games).

Made a run to EB after work, here's the trade in value I got. All of these titles were allowed even NBA Live 06, NBA 2K6 and College Hoops 2K6. The funny thing about the hoops games is first they scanned Live 06(xbox) and said we accept this as part of the deal. I was told that they would accept it in the deal because the 07 version isn't out yet. I said cool, so if thats the case take my NBA and College Hoops for the 360. He scanned them and said nope these won't work. I said what? You just told me you could take them if the 07 version isn't out yet. LOL, the store manager heard this and said go ahead and take them. Crazy right, anyways here is what I got.

Xbox
Halo 2 Collectors Edition- $20
Fifa 06- $11
Stacked- $7
The Warriors- $6
NCAA Football 07- $20
Marc Ecko's Getting up- $4
NFL Head Coach- $6
Half Life 2- $7
Forza- $2.50
SC Chaos Theory- $5
GTA SA- $9
World Poker Tour- $3
NBA Live 06- $6

Xbox 360
NBA 2K6- $8
College Hoops 2K6- $5

Looks like 115.50 before the bonus unless I counted wrong and I received $186.45 after the extra $10 bonus and 10% for having the EB edge card.
Xbox
Halo 2 Collectors Edition- $20
So, wait, did they have to override this price or has the CE always been $20 (and it is just the regular that is $12 and was temporarily $20)? My GR has both priced at $19.99 and I was looking to xfer credit. I'll buy the CE if it gets $20 (while we've seen reports that the regular is back to $12 now). But I was also told by an EB manager that they don't give anything extra for LE/CE's any more, so, I'm wondering if they just overrode the $12 price for you since it had been advertized for $20 recently... Any idea?

Edit - wiki has BOTH the regular and CE at $12 as of 9/6, but EB's web site still shows the regular at $20. Grrrr... Too YMMV for me...

They didn't mention anything about overriding the price. They scanned it and I got $20 for it as has been posted by a few here lately.

Yes, but a few others recently have posted $12 :D

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not: you are now REQUIRED to have an EB Edge "discount" card to qualify for any / all trade-in deals from now on.

I tried to trade in 3 valid titles today, and I wasn't allowed because I don't have the EB Edge card, which now costs $15... ...man, between this kind of sh*t, no more stackable coupons online, and no guarantee of box / instructions on used games online, EB Games has got to be losing business. Personally, I think the whole merger was a huge mistake for them.

That's a crock of shit. You should call the district manager and complain.

Today's trade-ins (all PS2):

Black - $15
The Getaway - $1
God of War - $9
Gun - $8
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - $1
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones - $7
Spider-Man 2 - $4
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - $7
State of Emergency 2 - $7

Total after $10-for-3 offer and 10% Edge bonus: $97.87

Another quick turnaround is Total Overdose. My CC had several PS2 copies for 3.xx and they trade for $4 at GS/EB. While you break even on that, you still come out $10 ahead after bonus.

$15, huh? Does it come with anything else besides the card?

Does anyone know how much I would have to pay for a DS Lite if I traded in a GBA SP and the original DS towards it?
$15, huh? Does it come with anything else besides the card?
Here's what the $15 gets you:
1) 10% off all used games (EB Edge Card)
2) 10% extra credit on all trade-ins (EB Edge Card)
3) A subscription to Game Informer

...I didn't care for Game Informer before, but now that it's obvious that they're teamed up with the biggest videogame retailer in the world, I'll never trust another word they write.

BTW, has anyone else run into this same issue with not getting the extra $10 trade-in credit without an EB Edge card? I'm near NYC, so we tend to see stuff first.

I'm on Long Island.. I've traded in at four different locations on five seperate occasions with this current deal and every time, they've been ready to give me the extra $10 no problem without knowing I have the card. I guarantee that the clerk who said it was like that was just trying to be a cock in order to get a subscription and that you should report it to his district manager.

Here is the deal with Edge and GI cards you all seem confused about.

All stores are now on the Window Based system. No one uses the DOS system.

There is a upgraded POS module on that window based system that allows credit from GameStop on an edge card and can be used in both stores.

Most stores haven't upgraded to this module yet and so some of you are still receiving paper credits that can only be used in GS still.

As for the guy who said they wont stack the card even if they make things consistent in the POS, you should just let them scan your card before you hand them the games, then let them scan the games.
Does anyone know how much I would have to pay for a DS Lite if I traded in a GBA SP and the original DS towards it?
you get 30 for the SP with that trade in deal and 60 for the DS phat. So 90 bucks in credit if they do it right. so 40 bucks plus tax.

Well I bought and traded in Max Payne 2, Powerdrome, and Splinter Cell (I couldn't find antoher Max Payne or Powerdrome.) As well as a couple of other games I no longer wanted, I ended up getting $56.89 after trades.

I traded in one of my GBA games to get the extra 20% + 10%, but I only ended up getting 20%, I guess he screwed up? I'm not going to make a big deal out of it though, since he let me pre-order any game for the extra 10%. :D I went ahead and threw $5.00 on Contact.

Will the GS More cards also eventually have credit on them, too?

As for the guy who said they wont stack the card even if they make things consistent in the POS, you should just let them scan your card before you hand them the games, then let them scan the games.

I've done that, too, at two separate stores. They give me the trade-in amount then I ask about the $10 bonus, then they say one or the other. I've also noticed sometimes before I had the More card they didn't give me the $10 bonus after I got the receipt. I had to point it out to them then they redid the transaction manually giving me the bonus.

As far as I remember they have always been teamed up with Gamestop(or funcoland before that). When I got my first GI subcription at Funcoland back in '97, the second issue or so I got had a $5 off coupon for Castlevania SOTN.

No you will be given a free edge card without 10% functionality sticker for your credits.

GI has always been owned by GameStop.

AwRy108 you just noticed this? Haha..

PezRadar, are you guys allowing disc only games to get full credit?

When I was trading in games, I had a disc only copy of Soul Calibur II in a old cd case. Without looking at the disc condition, the clerk told me there'd be a $2 refurb fee. He said it was due to "the Merger".

I politely explained to him that Gamestop took over EB, and that GS allowed disc-only for some time, so his explanation made no sense.

He then gave me the old "only doing what I was told" routine, so I asked for the DM number. Of course the DM gave me the old "doing what I was told" excuse as well.

Has the policy of allowing disc only games changed?

All of the 40+ games I have traded in in the past week I have traded in disc only. Four different GameStops.

WTF? I called a GameStop to ask if they had the trade 3 get $10 extra and they said no. I recently traded in Nascar 06 and Ultimate Spider man for a total of $21. If I had traded in Gun for $7, I would have ended up with $38 store credit. Nascar 07 would've costed me aboput $4. Damn those jackasses.:bomb:

As far as them not having the deal, tell them to check their current marketing or call around to area stores/their DM and then they'll know they are running the deal. If that doesn't work, try calling customer service for GS and having them explain to the store that it is running.

Nascar 06 is a sports title... so it would have been excluded. There is a special running though where you can trade Nascar 06 towards Nascar 07 and basically get $15 in credit towards Nascar 07 making it $24.99.

The Godfather

does anybody know If I can stack these?

Traded in:

Sly Cooper PS2 - 3.00
Sonic Heroes PS2 - 5.00
God of War PS2 - 9.00

Initially I was quoted a trade-in amount excluding the "+$10" promotion. I told 'em that the promo was listed on their website, so they called someone and lo and behold the 10.00 was added bringing my total credit to 29.70.

Bought:

Sonic Rush DS and Star Wars Battlefront 2 PSP for only 2.84 out of pocket after all credit and discounts were considered.

OK, Pez, I got one for you - will they ever allow use of Edge cards for web site purchases again? I would do some shopping there if they allowed them again. As it is now my ebgames.com purchases have come to a dead stop because I'd need to use a credit card instead of my store credit (well, that, and the no guarantee of used games being complete thing). There are some new games I'd like to pick up using credit on the web site though - Electroplankton for one.

I would try to get a gift card with that.

Just got back from trading 6 games. Weird story, I had my Mobile Light Force 2 case had EB stickers for Stretch Panic on it because I switched the cases. The guy rings the trade in up for Stretch Panic instead of Mobile Light Force.
Heres my totals before $10 or Edge bonuses.
:ps2:
Stretch Panic (Actually traded in Mobile Light Force 2)-$1
Maximo:Ghosts to Glory-$1.50
Kya: Dark Lineage-$2.50
Devil May Cry- $4 (And the douchebag then added a refurb fee:bomb:.)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets- $2
:xbox:
SSX: On Tour- $5

Got $39.60 total, bought Wild 9 for $2.69 and the VP:Lenneth Guide, and put the rest down on Rule of Rose. And I even got the preorder bonus for a game for once.:D

Kind of a stupid question, but does anyone know if Virtua Tennis for PSP counts as a 2006 or older sports title? I have a feeling that it does but I mean it's not like a new Virtua Tennis comes out every year like NBA Live for example. I better take an extra game with me to make 3 just in case.

Edit: I just came back from Gamestop was able to use Virtua Tennis towards the $10 trade bonus. They told me as long as the sports game doesn't have year in the title (ex. NBA Live 2005) it was cool.

I doubt they will hassle you, but don't take my word for it. And don't ask them, just bring up the games and say you want to trade them in for the 3 for $10.00 deal. And bringing an extra game just in case is a good idea.
