Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.

Well, I just called EB, which is like a mile from GS, and they said that the only restrictions are the ones listed online, no old sports, etc. I got the guy's name, so I'm holding him to it. We'll see if they'll give me the same run around.

What games did he deny?

Just went into GS to do a trade 3 get $10 extra, one of the three I have is a Jampack... the ass at GS refused to let me trade that into get the extra $10?!

I remember lots of people here have traded in Jampacks np last time, during the BB coupon thing... is it YMMV for Jampacks too or is that GS guy just a fucken asshole?

Thanks!
So how does GS track what you've traded it? I plan on trading in duplicate games that I got from the CC clearance. Will trading at different GS reduce the risk of being Blacklisted?
You have to show them a valid Drivers License or a State ID to be able to trade-in. And I believe they log the # into their computers to keep track.

Totally YMMV.
I finally had a run-in with teh token GS prick.... I traded in a 6 games last thursday or so, with 1 or 2 $1 games included, and got the extra $10 for each trio. Manager told me that as long as trios total up to $10 or more, the bonus will apply.
First I heard of that crap. When did they have to total up to $10 before the $10.

I need some advice on what to do.

I traded in 3 sets of 3 games at my local EB today and threw in a beat-up GBA game as well. I made sure to throw in the GBA game so that they would have to scan my edge card for the transaction (thereby getting me my extra 10% on all my trades).

At the end of the transaction the manager stared at the screen for a second, then pulled out a calculator to figure out the values of all my games and inputted each game value manually into the computer. When I asked about this he said this deal doesn't work automatically and each game must be manually input.

Anyways, when I got back to my car I realized that he had manually edited out my edge card bonus on everything except the GBA game. So basically I got hosed out of soem credit.
Is there anything I can do at this point or am I screwed because I completed the transaction?

I'm usually much more careful to watch what they do (and calculate everything in my head) but I had both kids with me and was mainly trying to keep them settled.

also here are my trade values:

- Crimson Skies(xbox)- $1
- Magic Pengel(ps2)- $3
- Graffiti Kingdom- $4
- Ultra Bust a Move(xbox)- $3
- Phantom Dust(xbox)- $1.50
- Taito Legends(xbox)- $4
- Meteos(ds)- $9
- Pikmin 2(gc)- $8
- Max Payne 2(ps2)- $0.50

- Sonic Advance(GBA)- $4

any help would be appreciated.

Now why would he go and do that? The extra 10% is supposed to stack. When I did some trade-ins the employee at my Gamestop even told me that their POS systems have been updated to automatically accept the card for any sale/offer/deal, etc.

i know it's usually automatic.

Pretty much all th EBs and Gamestops around me refuse to stack these types of deals with edge card. I usually get around it by trading in an extra game or buying a used game on the same transaction. They have to scan the card and I get the bonus on all of my trades.

Appearantly the manager noticed this and manually changed everything to prevent me from getting both bonuses.

Does anybody know if the DS Lite can link to a GameBoy Advance with the GBA cable? I was thinking about getting a DS but my brother uses the GBA to link.
What games did he deny?
Several $1 games and GTA: SA, but it's no big deal. EB took the games without a problem, except for GTA:SA (It's the original release, AO version)

After I left there, I stopped at blockbuster and picked up a disc only copy of halo2 for $8. Hello fodder :D

I updated the CAGwiki through this post. I went back several pages but I might have missed a few prices - just repost if you don't see any of yours updated.

I just thought of a meticulous store credit engine. K-mart clearance has Legend of Zelda the wind waker for $8. Eb buys it used for $8 store credit. So if you buy 3 with Florida tax its about $25.44 which can be traded in for $34 in store credit. Of course if you just need extra filler games, it works perfectly since you don't really lose any money by purchasing one and trading it in. I don't know about other K-marts but a few in my area still have Wind Waker for $8. I need to pre-order FFXII, and I plan on getting Megaman ZX on store credit.

It's supposed to stack, but as I've said before, a lot of GameStop employees (including managers) will refuse to stack it unless you make a stink about it then they will sometimes relent. And it isn't automatic when stacked in all stores, because the two I go to have to do it manually.

As per Gamestop store policy, you can only trade-in one copy of a game per customer, so that wouldn't work. It does make a good filler though. I may do this, since I do need one more game. Thanks.

MORE GAMES!:

PS2:
- Metal Gear Solid: $2
- Gran Turismo 3: $1
- 007 Nightfire: $2
- Grand Theft Auto 3: $1

made out with $111 on this haul after the discounts... And I got myself a 360 TAX FREE!!! So with this deal I profitted over $120 from just buying games from people on craigslist... and if you count not having to pay tax, I made $160 in credit... sooo sweet.

Seriously though try to find desperate people on craigslist in your area. I made out like a bandit profitting about 100-120% from that... good stuff THANKS CAG!

Good to point out, I was unaware, but yea good filler if you can find it.

But can you trade in one at GS and another at EB?

And two other good fillers are Total Overdose PS2 ($3.98 @ CC, Trades for $4) and Suikoden Tactics (9.99 @ CC, Trades for $11).

I've already traded one of each, but my CC still has more of them. I just don't want to open them and get denied and be stuck.

Those B2G1 free specials are so few and far between now that GS bought EB. Damn it sucks. I remember they were having this sale like once a month almost. I cant forgive GS for this and the fact that they raised many used game prices after the merger.

Also preordered Elebits and picked up my Lego Star Wars preorders. They had the Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime keychains in if you preordered that game (which comes out next week). They did not have the Okami art books yet. I'm out of town next week so they claimed they would hold that for me - we'll see...

I was able to get the 10% preorder bonus but I think they guy screwed up and gave me too much credit, not that I'm complaining .

The total before any bonus was $23.50. Somehow this turned into $66.10. It should have been $23.50 + $2.35 (10% preorder) + $30 = $55.85, then add 10% for the Edge card for a total of $61.44. it looks like I got even more than if he had tacked the 10% preorder onto the $30 bonus too, so I'm not sure what he did with the math . Basically those 9 games (5 of which I got at GR using my credit there) paid for my GC and DS Lego Star Wars, since I already had $5 down on each. I only had to throw in another $3.88 in credit for the $5 on Elebits.

I traded in a fat DS for a black DS Lite today. The guy told me I owed $70+ on the DS Lite and I'd already put down a $25 deposit so I told him that couldn't be right and that there was a promo where the DS was worth more in trade if you trade it for a DS Lite (doubt if anyone else had at this store). So he fixed it in the computer and told me my total was $35+, which sounded closer but a little lower than what I was expecting. Looked at my receipt later and he gave me $70 trade credit for my fat DS instead of $60, so I only got charged $60 for my DS Lite and I paid in store credit so I didn't pay any tax either. I paid less than $100 for the fat DS used online and the store credit cost me around $30, so it was a pretty cheap upgrade.

Is the store credit usable at any EB, or just the store where u did the trade?

I have 3 stores within 1 mile of each other, and it would be nice to use the credit at any store that had what I wanted.

Do DS games that sell for $29.99 used at EB get $20 trade in? Or is NSMB an exception? Trying to decide whether to trade in Mario Hoops or try to sell/trade it.

I don't think the prices are accurate on that page anymore. Halo 2, NSMB, and a few others had promotional trade-in values that I thought had expired. Normally they get around $15-$17 for newer releases.

It got boring that quickly? Nintendo should of made it for the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection damnit.

Which qualified games are still $1.99 used at EB? I found Powerdrome - but Max Payne, Max Payne 2 (XBOX), GT3 and THPS3 were all priced higher than $1.99.

It's a Squeenix game.

I'll try to find out the trade in value today since I'm also trying to get rid of Star Fox Command.

Some new prices for the wiki. Just called.

NDS:

Star Fox Command : $17
Mario Hoops : $17

Went out and picked up Halo 2 for $8 from BlockBuster
That's the used price, right?
It's a Squeenix game.
Er, that's right. Nintendo doesn't make any of the sports games.

Well then, Square Enix should of made it for Wi-Fi.

My BB marks all of their disc-only games to $9.99, which this was.I got it down to $8 because I actualy had a few dollars of credit on my account that I had forgot even existed, left over from the Red Ninja tradefest. :D

Hmm, still makes for good trade fodder. Can you recommend anything else? I just want to boost the credit on my Star Fox Command trade in.

I recommend Pirates! if your CC still has any for $8.96. That trades for $11. A break-even game for filler that works from CC is Total Overdose, which costs about $4 and trades for $4.

Total overdose has a 2 disc case as well. I'd get it just for the case and trade in for credit. I used mine to put MGS:Substance with my original MGS2:SOL since my Substance was disk only.
