Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.

Excellent. I guess I will hold off on some trades until October, in hopes that Wii preorders start by the 15th and they don't end the trade-in deal early again. Still don't have $50 worth, but I should have the opportunity to accumulate stuff.

If anyone is using new copies enter the marix for trade, make sure you open it up. There are some cool atari stickers in there.
Does anyone know if Tony Hawk games count towards 3 for 10?
I have traded in THPS3 and THUG 2 with no problems (at seperate times) and they qualified for the 3 for $10 deal

I just opened another copy of enter the matix and no stickers. It seems there are 2 styles. 1 has a paper cover and one has a holographic-foil type cover. The second type has the stickers. Just incase anybody cares.

Dropped by GS/EB last night and picked up with the credit : Zoe of Enders : Second Runner for $35.

I gotta say, this game blew me away.. Too bad it was a disc only copy..

Well hopefully now if they do that crappy pre-order for the Wii and the PS3 we will get the extra $10. I put some games aside in case they do. I also got a MORE card finally so I'll get the extra 10% as well. I may have to look around for some more games since this is getting extended.
On the trading in 2 360 games for a new or used game for 9.99, has anyone used that to pre-order a game? I got a pair of games i'd like to trade in but nothing is out at the moment that i'd like, so just wondering if I could pre-order instead.
It is ymmv because at some stores they let you and at others they won't.

Nice. I thought I'd be sunk after today for taking advantage of this deal. Now I can go back for another round early next month.:D

It seems like the Chicago stores have been running this deal about once a month lately.

im playing through the first one right now since i have the second one. I've seen a couple of them scattered. Let me know if you need help finding a complete copy or you can try to beat that within 7 days ;)

Anybody have suggestions as to where to find good trade fodder? The locals circuity city (NYC) have been picked clean of anything worhwhile. I'd really like to find a few $2-5 games, just to get some more credit.

Great that the Trade 3 Get $10 bonus promo is extended. Now I have more time to look for cheap games to trade in for my FF-XII CE preorder :D

You can get some at EB Games/Gamespot or KMART games on clearance - some as low as $1 (See the KMART thread that's stickied).

Quick question in regard to Ebstop trade ins now...

The exclusions (2006 and earlier sports, wrestling, and demos) is that ALL that's excluded?

Pre-merger EB had a much more exhaustive list- generally any game that resold for less than $8.

Is this a NEW list, and now those

Hmmm.. 7 days? Is that EB/GS's return policyon used games or something? I'm kinda new to EB/GS... I normally buy new complete/stuff.

The $320 360 is tempting because it'll get knocked down to $220 if I trade in my XBox games. Seriously, who the hell on eBay is going to buy Syberia (what was I thinking)?

Especially considering I'm a Mac owner who just saw the IGN Bioshock vid... a 360 is looking damn fine right now.

I just love how EB puts rules on the pure profit for them that is trade-in's.
Support you local game retailer (if you have one) these clowns don't deserve business.

eh? You are aware that with this promo EB/GS takes in a bunch of games like Max Payne, Brute Force, and Powerdrome and gives more credit than what they sell them for?

Yeah, you can return a game, no questions asked within 7 days for a full refund on pre-played stuff.

Ok, I updated the Wiki for the last 5 pages. Just a small note, I can't update the Wiki if you don't post the system that you traded in your titles for!

if the eb/gs person working that day is cool, they'll alert you to a bunch of 5 dollar or less used games you can buy and immediately trade back in. I had 20 games(they wouldn't take my gta san andreas because it was the first pressing of it) and he goes, "buy a used copy of max payne 2 for 1.50". did that and traded it right back in. got the 21 games which equalled to 70 bucks just with the deal for 3 for 10 in credit. worked, rocked, lovin' it!
As others have stated I would also have to say YMMV for the simple fact that the Tony Hawk series is listed under "Sports" on the website. If it is listed on the website in this category I'm pretty sure it is also in-store.
I was told in store that they wouldn't take THPS3 and THPS4 because they were sports but WOULD take the THUG games and THAW, I'd imagine due to the story mode.

Rayman DS - $6
F-Zero GX - $3
Soul Calibur 2 (XB) - $2
LotR Return of the King (GC) - $3
Mario Kart Double Dash - $12
Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 (PS2) - $5
Monster Hunter (PS2) - $10
Powerdrome (PS2) - $1
Enter the Matrix (PS2) - $1
Max Payne 2 (PS2) - $0.50
Mortal Kombat Deception (PS2) - $6
Zone of the Enders - $1

$99.55 total with the bonus credit. Reserved Final Fantasy XII CE.

If I don't have any games I'm willing to trade in from my collection, would it still be worth it to buy the extremely cheap EB / GS games (Max Payne 1 /2, Rouge Ops, etc.) and then just trade them in? I would also be trading them in towards the reservation of GoW and Zelda.

It's worth it in the sense that you would make a profit (there are plenty of $2 games that would net you $4.33 after bonus), as long as you balance the fact that they can blacklist you from trading if they catch on.

Here are 2 other promos that need to get added to the OP.

- Get a 20% bonus on trades when applied to Gears of War, Final Fantasy XII, or Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The only exclusion is bonus doesn't apply to system trades.

- Buy Guild Wars and get Guild Wars Factions for $29.99

Man, GS is hardcore. But I'm not too afraid considering I have lots of friends that would do it for me :p

Any recomendations on where to get cheap games other than GS? I live in California and all the KMarts were turned into Sears Essiential stores so they are a no go :whistle2:(.

Is EB the only store that allows you to cash in your credit (at a measley 80% credit to cash rate)? Or is it at trade in only (not on accumulated credit)?

It's at trade time only from what I've been told. And like you said, they'll take 20% off your total trade :whistle2:/

I have a couple questions:

1. Does GameStop keep any games that you have preordered in their computers? I preordered a game and I have since lost the receipt, would they be able to print me out a new one?

2. I have about 3 or 4 trade-in credit receipts, will they able to combine them all into one?

That's it.

So when they blacklist you...What happen to all your credit?

Also say i traded in Mario Power Tennis & I trade six other Mario Power Tennis games at different stores, will they have a history of what games i have traded in...I mean having 7 different Mario Power Tennis trade in will look kinda odd right...Could this get me blacklisted?

Dug out some more games:

Xbox
Arx Fatalis - $3
Return to Castle Wolfenstein - $1
Malice - $1
NBA Jam - $1.50

PS2
ATV Off Road Fury - $1.50
Midnight Club II - $1.50
Stella Deus - $9

GCN
Freedom Fighters - $4
Agent Under Fire (huh? It's suppose to be Everything of Nothing! >_

I've done the multiple copies across multiples stores and never had a problem. This is for a LOT of the same game across different stores (10+ times) and had no problems yet. You should be fine.

It's generally when you buy games from EB and trade those in en masse. They don't care if you're profitting somehow, as long as you're not profitting at their expense.

couldn't you theoretically go into the store, buy a bunch of $.99/$1.99 used games, then turn around and trade them in for $10+?

Yea, my local store now has about 10 copies of World Championship Poker

Then you'll get barred for flipping.

how do you get blacklisted for trading in those cheap 1.99/2.99 games? what if you actually had them from way back and decided to trade them in because of the promo? i actually have max payne 1 and 2 for both ps2 and xbox and was going to trade them along with some other games that i see on the gamestop site that are selling for 2.99 used.

Do you have ten copies of them? That's what would get you in trouble.

ahh ok. was getting confused cause i've read other posts where people would say if you bought cheap games from them then went and traded them in you could get caught that way too. i mean how would they even know if you took the stickers and stuff off.
