Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

Can you confirm if its the US or Canadian version of Crew Motorfest that you saw?

I do not unfortunately. I’d expect that trickery only works on android devices as well.
Bummer. I'll searching around the internet this weekend. Looks like the 2 they had sold already. It was a 4070 with an i7 for just under $1200.

The Marlton store had a bin of cheap stuff at the electronics checkout:

:ps5:
Godfall $7
Far Cry 6 $3

:ps4:
Saints Row $3
Assassin's Creed Valhalla $3

:xb1:
GRID Legends $7
NASCAR 21: Ignition $5
Far Cry 6 $3
Assassin's Creed Valhalla $3

Saw Dave the Diver :switch: for $15 and Metroid Prime Remastered at $30

Thanks for reporting in on this previously. I managed to secure a lone copy of Dave the Diver at one location some weeks ago. Never encountered another one at any others in the area. Metroid Prime Remastered I did see a few here and there but I passed on it. Ended up being a good decision since I later scored it for $12 (70% off) at one Target location when they were doing the recent round of clearance games.

Just picked up Dragon Age Veilgaurd for $9.97 on Xbox. This store is remodelling so not sure if its nationwide or not. Picked up a fat stack of $5 games last week that were definitely only clearanced at this store.

Anecdotal evidence of course, but the game sections at the Walmarts nearby have shrunk in half recently. The Switch section is about the same as usual, but the PS5 section only has the most recent releases and evergreen titles and the Xbox section barely exists.

One local Wal-Mart still had two copies of Dead Rising for Xbox. Had them double check it but still $50 for me. Bastards!

Some Xbox clearance markdowns at my store:
Red Elite controller- $125 was $129
Steelseries Arctis Nova 5X headphones‐ $71 was $129
WD Black 1 TB SSD Expansion Card-$89 was $149
Plus a few other Turtle Beach and PDP controllers that are only down on average $3. These were sub-$30 normal price items.

Wow, i had went to a walmart that haven't went to in like a year like 42 miles away. They apparently changed the look of the electronic area to something fancy like. I found these in the clearance isle. It was like 1 more box to the side outside the photo i was like wow had to wait for a guy to finish. Every thing was like $10 but nothing I really wanted though well I did at one point but I moved on. Also most was Xbox and some sports. I guess if I had listen to my gut and went there when i was in the area I might've got something good.

Walmart seems to have some inconsistent pricing, maybe a glitch, for Star Wars Outlaws for PS5. They have both Standard and Gold Edition for $34.96 on their website. Probably YMMV, zip code 40517 had some for shipping, sold and shipped by Walmart.com. I was able to get Target to price match since Walmart gave me standard edition when I ordered Gold Edition for shipping.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/5395327043 is the Walmart link if needed.

I also visited one of my out of the way Walmarts that hadn't ever marked anything down, to find that they marked tons of Switch stuff down to $10. I was a little disappointed, they had like six copies of Astral Chain and Octopath at one point, all those were gone after marking to $10.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been waiting for sub-$20 for Outlaws but couldn’t pass up the Gold Edition for only $35!

There's 4 left when I just checked. I got mine when it said only 2 were available. Probably a small amount left.

Edit:
Cancel that its dead again.
I was able to search using the zip and it came up with the 35 but how is anyone getting it price matched. I live in another state?

I can confirm I saw Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for PlayStation 5 with a shelf-tag marked at $10 at my local Super Walmart last week, but it was sold out.

Try using some nearby zip codes for your area, if you live in a municipality with a lot, and see what pops up. I was able to get Target to PM after they said it showed as third party, explaining the zip I saw (within about a 15 minute drive of me) where it was in stock.

My order was delivered from my local store yesterday, but they sent me the base game and not the Gold Edition. I chatted with Walmart to get an exchange, and the person just fully refunded me for the game and told me to keep it! :)
I had the same thing happen. I told them I would drive to the store to but, he insisted on just refunding it. Not gonna argue with that 🤷‍♂️. Not to sure how good the DLC is but, its currently on sale on ps5 as well. The funny thing is I went to the walmart where it was more then likely picked up from and there the gold edition was sitting on the shelf.... Whatever.

Got a Nintendo Switch not that long ago so I've been stocking up on walmart clearance games. These are very ymmv as I went to multiple stores and these games were not on clearance or the same price at all the stores I went to.

These are all for Nintendo Switch:switch:
Cult of the Lamb $10
Harvest Moon: Winds of Anthos $10
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope - Complete $5
Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville $5
Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms $5
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated $5
South Park: Snow Day $6

Some other games I got about 1 month ago might be lower priced / oos
Persona 5 Tactica $10
Burnout Paradise $10
Lego DC Supervillians $5
Baby Shark: Sing and Swim Party $10
DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos $5
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity $20 (Got this 2-3 months ago)

Two games I saw that were $0.03 / oos (which they refused to sell to me)
Bravely Default 2
Triangle Strategy

Cult of the Lamb is showing $10 on Walmart.com... No Walmarts near me had it in-stock, but Target was able to price match for me just now after I specifically sent them this link during chat support. Not bad with the additional 5% off with the Red Card discount.

Thanks for the heads-up on this! I was just able to order :switch: Cult of the Lamb (NSW) for in-store pickup. It shows $19.93 on the product page but when I added to cart it went to $10.
Pissed me off with the exact opposite. Showed $10 for Cult of the Lamb Switch on the webpage but after I added it to my cart it jumped to $19.93. Tried other browsers, etc. and could not get it to give me the $10 price. Oh well, not that I really need it (and already have it on Series X).

It might vary by store location. Walmart has been known to do some real odd stuff with respect to that. If you have multiple stores nearby it might be worth punching in different locations to see what happens.

The newest Avatar game is down to $10 at my store (Xbox base version). For someone who didn't care about the first movie and haven't even seen the 2nd one, is the game worth the pickup. It'd be something that goes in the backlog.

I actually thought the first movie was overrated and never got around to see any of the others. However, I did enjoy the game. Especially picks up once you get the flying creature (early on).

I'm not a handheld gamer and when it comes to Switch, performance is thus an issue. I've heard Cult of the Lamb doesn't run well -- and generally, let's face it, Switch versions usually run the least smoothly compared to the PS4/5 versions. I'm not saying the price couldn't sway me, but by and large, I go for the PS4/5 versions of multi-plats.

I do wonder if Switch 2 will run Switch 1 games better simply by virtue of its stronger processor. You'd think so but then Nintendo hasn't said anything outside of backwards compatibility. And knowing Nintendo (just being Nintendo), I won't be surprised if the company opted for a cheap-a## emulator for Switch 1 games so that you don't get any benefits playing on Switch 2 unless the developer patches its game.

They are doing it through a combo of native support and an emulation layer. That said, I think that's probably a good thing as it likely lets them take more advantage of switch 2 features that wouldn't be available through just native support. Native support probably would limit it's ability to do the online chat stuff and other functionality. Like playing DS games on 3DS... the system kind of downgrades itself and there's no real advantage to having native support unless you got the XL and the bigger screens. So here, there should be some advantages. There definitely will be benefits on the digital side since the storage itself is around 8x faster (it is for the microsd ex nvme cards). For games complete on card, probably not a lot of advantage outside of just possibly running at whatever the max resolution/framerate the games are set to within their dynamic range.

Nicely, there should be plenty of us getitng a switch 2 and doing comparison testing. My library is mostly physical, but I have some good digital games I can use as comparison and between me and my adult kids we have a few overlapping titles that I can compare the dital and physical on both systems (as well as the OLED system which has a slightly different processor than the OG and the lite).

I'm interested in Switch 2 though admit almost only for the better design and larger joycons, no interest at all in all those social and game key features. Given how insane the supply issues should be at launch, I'm assuming the earliest I'll get one is the fall/holidays.

Not happy to pay for stupid tariffs so will see how that plays put. Fully expecting the price to be adjusted upwards. The pause doesn't fix anything because 10% tariffs are in, and Nintendo will probably try to price in some cushion to mitigate future tariff risk.

That's why, I'm hopeful early next month when they open direct preordering for those of us that signed up on nintendo.com, the price will be the same and I can just lock one down that way. After that, I'm leaning to go digital going forward. Maybe I'll have one or two games to get physical, but I really want to move away from chasing physical games. Trying to get deals or buy before something goes out of print or whatever... it leads me to spending more than I would if I just focused on what I want to play right now. I don't play a ton of games as is... I don't want a Switch 2 backlog.
