Wario World sucks, there I said it.

I picked this up for $10 and thought how bad could it be - well, after a few good hours with the game, I can tell you it stinks like my ass on a hot summer day after a lunch at Taco Bell. It is just one long tedious collect-a-thon. It doesn't even feel like a full game because of it's length. I finished 6 out of 8 levels and I think I'm just going to give up - I have way too many unplayed games to be wasting my time on crap. Ugh.

So sad... Treasure is usually top-notch...
It's on GC, made by Treasure.
I just looked it up on GameSpot. It got a 6.4/10 and the short review says it won't "hold your attention for more than a day." I guess it isn't that great so what's the big deal?

Treasure is a fantastic developer and it is published by Nintendo - I don't know how they screwed it up even though I wasn't expecting much...

I thought it was a great rental. Even though the enemy types were repetitive (different models, same attacks) I thought there were some cool parts (inventive bosses, too). Beat it in 3 long sessions. I would've paid 10 for it.

Sucks...Bad controls, repetitive, bland graphics...i REALLY didnt like this game...even more so if i thought of the originals (which i liked)

I haven't played this game, but this is what I kinda expected of it. I just had to reply based on the hilarious topic title.

So the game is too short for you, but you don't even feel like you have time to play it all. Do you see what's wrong here?

I'd rather have 8 hours of fun without 20 hours of filler.

And if you don't like the type of game, don't bother with any game of that type. Does that make sense?

Wasn't Jak and Daxter a collect-a-thon, for the most part? Ratchet & Clank? Sly Cooper?

I liked it just fine. The quasi 2d/3d worlds were done very well imo. It was short, I think I completely beat it and got everything in about 7 hours. Bu tI got it for $10, so I wasnt really upset about the length.

Plus how can any game that lets you pick up a bad guy and flying spinning piledriver their head into the ground be all that bad.

I liked this game. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was a pretty ordinary platformer, but that's all it claimed to be. I really like the boss battles, and though it was short I could see myself loading it up again to download the minigames to my gba or to replay it after a few months. Besides if I never do I could just sell it. It's definitely a pretty solid rental aside.

when thats 1 of about 3 moves

Wario's a great character. His game isn't that great, but I get a kick out of his personality. It's only a shame that Treasure couldn't squeeze more of his personality out of him. I think they just scratched the surface.

Wario World's basic design is what I always imagined a 3D Mario game to be like. (Before Mario 64 came along, anyway.) I would love to see more games done in this style.

I think you're judging this game the wrong way (especially for $10). All throughout this game, I couldn't help but smile and laugh at Wario's personality. The move where he opens his mouth and sucks in all the coins will NEVER STOP BEING HILARIOUS. Just walk around holding X and try not to laugh.

"Have a rotten day!"

Wario World is a good-to-great game but it depends a bit on your taste.

I liked the 2D and 1/2 aspect . . . good change of pace from some of the 3D platformers out there. There is a enough to hold your attention for a day (if you play for 8 hour stretches like many of you) or about a week the way I play

I think the big N rushed it a bit (came out last summer) because their catalog just can't keep up.

I think I'd be disappointed in it at $40, but for $10 its a real gem!

OK... 1. This game is short. I don't have time to play crappy games - long or short. 2. I totally agree with you - I'd rather have 8 hours of fun without 20 hours of filler. However, this game is 8 hours of the opposite of fun. 3. Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, and Ratchet and Clank were much more than collect-a-thons - they were fun.

First off you're posting your opinion like it's fact. You think it sucks, but alas your word is not law.

Personally I thought it was kinda decent. It lacked depth and longitivety, however it had an old-school vibe and as usual, Treasure has crafted yet another series of imaginitive (and fun) boss battles.

Everything I post that describes how I feel about something is an opinion. Granted, the boss battles are nice but they are way too easy and everything else sucked.

I agree, just because of his laugh Wario is one of my favorite characters. I used to deselect and select him on Mario Kart 64 just to replay his laugh and annoy the hell out of my friends. His mouth-coin thing is great, if there was more personality like that it would have been a great game.

The game is just mediocre, there are some highlights but overall the level design is just too repetitve. Of course its also too short as some have said. I wouldn't mind more developers experimenting with the 2d/3d thing though.

IMO treasures always been a hit or miss develper, but when its a hit, they make some of the best games around. No joke.

Seeing how I picked it up for 5 at the Best Buy sale a few months ago (also had found the guide for a penny... no I dont need the guide for THIS game, it will help when i resell it), I dont think there is any way it would not be woth at least that

Ive only played the first level, standard mindless fun... which i do like every once in a while

I enjoyed the game. Wario is a great character. And yes, the only real problems were the difficulty and the length.

This game isn't too bad. Like someone else mentioned earlier, mindless fun.
I would probably be complaining if I spent 40-50 bucks, but since it only set me back $10 its definitely worth it.

I have no problem with the length, but every enemy you fight is a clone of a enemy you fought previously in the last level. You should finish the game though, the boss for level 4-3 is pretty cool and the water effects are awesome. I also bought it for $10 and to me, it's worth just about that much. If you don't have Wario Ware, you get the added bonus of the downloadable games.

Didn't treasure also make Ikaruga?

I thought Wario World was great. Wario is quickly becoming my favorite character from all the Mario games. His personality always cracks me up.

Yeah, Treasure made Ikaruga, it was the unofficial sequel or something to Radiant Silvergun.

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to release a Super Wario Bros. game.
