Got a call today from Yahoo.
I think I get a 3-day trip to New York, and bunch of other stuff as part of their Social Media Enthusiast search.

The sound quality is crap, there's little to no bass to be heard through them and one of the silicone ear pieces keeps coming off and getting stuck in my ear... Buuut, free is free. What can ya expect? :drool:

Pretty much, yeah.
They fit really weird for me and have no bass. Plus, they don't have anything on the cords stopping you from splitting the two cords all the way down.
They will be my last resort headphones if something happens to my other pair and any other pair I have around here.
 
The only thing I've received lately is spam from so-called contest sites, and my Xbox Live Rewards statement telling me that my whopping 260 points are now pending. Still the all time worst rewards program ever!
 
Maxim issue came in. Totally not discreet, but it's whatever. The covers from the Victoria Secret catalogs that my sister orders are more NSFW than the Maxim cover.
 
Just got my free bluetooth headset from videogameplaza, its nothing fancy but it was free. Someone posted a link a few weeks back but the mods removed it for some reason. Just for future reference they are legit.

Also got a free T-shirt from Bosch... Says "Daredevil" on it. Dont remember signing up for it though.
Edit: Just googled it~ Was a facebook offer for the 1st 1000 likes

this past week i got some ebay items in the mail, evan longoria autograph baseball card, and a adam jones/justin uptin autograph card.
 
Got my Maxim magazines, sample of Cheerios and the gum and ID badge thing for the project icefly. And also got some 1saleaday stuff.

Recently got my headphones from 1saleaday, got a free maxim issue, ring sizer, lego magazine that my nephew took right away, and the pepsi max tshirt which is pretty nice.


My most notable hauls from the past ( havent been lucky in freebies/contests since these over a year ago): sidewinder mouse and light up keyboard from twitter, wow hoody, death adder mouse. Probably my favorite is the 50% gaming magazine coupon on Amazon they sent me which ended up stacking twice. So nintendo power, pc gamer, xbox magazine, playstation mag all for free for 1 year. here's to that luck coming back soon!

Yeah, and you've got to have at least 100 points to get them awarded. So, that's 5 months. Plus another month to queue your points to "pending" status, and then another month before you actually get them. So, 7 months for 80 cents worth of MS points.

I've easily spent $400 on Microsoft's stuff since the reward program launched in December. I've received a measly 750 points since then. I have an additional 260 points that just went to pending status, but won't get them until next month.

Microsoft hands out stuff to silver members all the time for doing nothing. Us gold members can rot for all they care.

If they truly wanted to be a real reward program, they'd give you points, INSTANTLY, for every single purchase, with the rewards on a sliding scale, so that for the more you spend the higher the points you'd get. Heck, most reward programs I've been in usually award between 5 and 10 percent of your purchase.

And yes, I realize they don't have to do crap for us. They are pretty near that now.
 
A few days ago got a Head and Shoulders shampoo+conditioner sample. Smells pretty good.

Got ANOTHER Maxim issue, luckily a different one (this one was slightly more NSFW than the other).

I got WWE AllStars for free from THQ. Won it on their Tweet-Up contest for SmackDown. It was the 360 version so I had to trade it in to my local store for the PS3 version.

I also got the shitty 1SaleADay headphone. I used the for the gym. The sound quality is just shit. I ended up ripping it apart 'cause they broke in the middle of my run. I kept those clear things that go on the ear buds though.

Well, that's the thing. Not everything I bought qualified for the rewards.

Everything MS does with the marketplace seems to be focused on making more sales with doing as little as possible for the loyal gold member. This is why they have points instead of real money. This is why the rewards are kept at low amounts. (They know you'll purchase more points to supplement the purchase you really want). And this is why the deals of the week are rarely anything people would purchase, or are things most of us have already bought at full price.

They asked on one of their surveys if we wanted instant points. I wish I could have yelled "hell yeah!".

I at least have a little more of an advantage, as I've been a beta tester for them since 1999. I get other private surveys that are more in depth, and I can vent my dissatisfaction in their comment boxes. Can't go too much into detail, because of the NDA I have with them. Let's just say they ask a wide variety of questions surrounding the past, present, and future of Xbox Live.
 
I agree they do more stuff for people that let their gold accounts expire. I have a buddy that has gotten 2 free games trying to get him to go gold again

I do have to admit, I wanted to see if it fit. It doesn't seem any different than any other condom, it is probably just longer.
