What would you estimate the value of a Mortal Kombat arcade machine is?

I own an original Mortal Kombat arcade machine. I've recently been mulling over the idea of selling it. My question is, what might it be worth? I got it for a steal ($250) about 8 or 9 years ago. I don't really want to get rid of it, but finances are tight and I'm pretty sure I can pull in a decent profit. Any rough estimates?

As far as I know, it still works just fine. I'll have to test it out to be sure, since its in my garage. It has the original topper, but it doesn't have the Johnny Cage artwork on the sides. I know that most MK machines were later converted to MK2 machines. I figure its pretty rare.

According to this guy $250-$350 is the eBay/collector's price. He seems to know his stuff.

When I go to arcade auctions in MN around October, Most arcade games go in the low range, around $200 or so. $250 is good price, I agree with the above poster. Even my Xmen 4 Player I bought around 8 years ago when I was in my apartment went for around what I paid for it. So around what you pay for it, or a few bucks more $10-15 more is a good rule of thumb.

Tough to sell arcade games, even some of the rare collector pieces I have from the early days of the arcades. Being dedicated helps, but also that machine is fairly common---and the game is duplicated well on most of the home systems these days.

Again, I'm afraid Craigslist is your best bet here again. I don't like selling on there because you have to watch your phone and email like a hawk, but that's the reality, I'm afraid...

$250 sounds right. Good luck with the sale. Funny thing is most of us have caused kids to spend about $250 in quarters playing against us at the local arcades back in the day.
