*Update 10-14 - I decided to return my system. Thanks to everyone for the responses!
I purchased a Wii last week. After several days of play I noticed a distracting noise coming from the disk drive when a disk is inserted. (When no disk is inserted, the system remains quiet.) It wasn't the fact that it was alarmingly loud, it was the actual sound. It had a 'clicking' or 'whiring' noise that would cycle from lower pitch to higher pitch and back again over and over as long as a disk was inserted in the system, regardless of whether the game was being played.
I was wondering if other Wii owners could tell me if that was normal Wii noise or if there was something wrong with my system? I'm curious to know if all Wii systems have that fluctuating 'whiring' noise. It's more distracting to me than my 360 was simply because of the pitch of the noise....if that makes sense? The 360 has one steady noise. You just get used to it after awhile, but hearing a fluctuating noise, constantly yanks me out of the game.
Thanks for any help.
