any luck w/ Hotel Dusk in BB ?
I just picked it up on the West Side. GGC + RZ bucks = $20. There were at least three still in stock.

They still had one copy at the West Target when I was out there over lunch break. I could have hit Best Buy... but my lunch break would have been well over 2 hours... and that would have been pushing it.

Which BB do you guys get GGC at? I checked out the West Side one before Xmas and couldn't find any. Are they in a certain section? I've been checking the front racks.

I've had lucky finding them in the racks just as you walk in at both East and West Madison stores.

I think we just clean them out so quickly that they don't last long.

In fact, I think I have two in my car right now.

Anyone here happen to know where I can find a PS3 memory card adapter in Madison? any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have one for sale, that would be even better :)

Are they hard to find now? These things were everywhere a couple of weeks ago. I'll keep a lookout.

yeah. I ended up buying one on EBay for $22, just so I can be sure to have one when my PS3 arrives.

The good part is, you only need to use them once and then you can get most of your cash back reselling it.

Best Buy (West - Madison) has about 20 Wii's in stock. Go up to the person who says hello as you walk in. At their "desk", they have tickets that you take up to the register to get your Wii. They still had quite a stack of tickets left as of 10:30 today (Friday).

I'm a very weak willed man... I think I'm going to pick up a PS3 today.

Did you see any at the West Madison Best Buy yesterday, hey? They've been there every time I've looked, but I just figured I would ask.

I saw about 10 of them at the East side one and every time I've been to the west side one, they were there. target and CC also had them. These things are everywhere! (Those memory card adapters I was asking about are everywhere too, which I found out after I paid $20 for one on ebay...argh)

I caved in as well...I got lucky and got a 20gb for under retail from a CAG though.

Anyone know if the West side BB has silver PS2s?

I think I'll try to pick up a 20GB model from the West location today.

When I run in, I'll let you know if they have the Silver PS2's.

Did you Ebay that adapter yet?

If not, I wouldn't mind 'renting' it from you for a few bucks before you do sell it.

Well, the West Madison BB didn't have 20GB PS3's in stock... so I'm holding off for another day.

They actually tried to tell me that "Sony doesn't make them anymore."

That's odd considering I saw them at Target earlier in the day and they're still on the Best Buy and Sony website.

I did ebay the one I got in the mail, but I'm picking one up next weekend.

So I went to BB to cash in my PS2 warranty (gonna get a new one and ebay it to cut off the cost of my PS3) and was told they haven't had any PS2s for 2 months. then of course, the guy asked me 3 times if I wanted to buy a PS3.

I had left the PS2 up at the front while I went to ask. I went back to the counter and told the guy they were out...and he then proceeded to try and sell me the PS3  They must be desperate. He even said "oh yeah, I don't think we get PS2s in stock much any more." as if the thing was obsolete.

I'm almost certain that you spoke to the same guy that I did yesterday. He was so steadfast in his opinion that only 60GB PS3's were available that he sounds like the same shmoe.

I really think you should wait for a price drop on the PS3. If you've been keeping up on the latest PS3 news...it seems Sony is positioning itself to cut the 60gig to $500 sometime this year. I think I can safely say that only a sucker would buy a PS3 right now. They are just sitting there collecting dust...no one is buying these things. Not to mention there aren't any exclusive games (besides Resistance) worth playing on the damn thing. At the very least, I would wait until this Fall to see if the price drop really happens.

You're well within your rights to think that, but if someone doesn't have a next gen game console and wants an BluRay player, it's a good device that serves both of those purposes.

For me, there isn't any games other than Resistance that I would like to play on it, but I would like to have a Blu Ray player... and that might be enough for me to pick it up.

People have to weigh waiting 6 to 9 months for a 100 price drop versus spending $100 for having the device for that amount of time.

Any Wii controller sighting around Madison? I think my accelerometer inside is busted or something and I need a new one.

Also, anyone else without cable tonight. I heard almost the whole town was without it for a while.

It was just the East side according to the news.

Also, Shopko gets the controllers ($49.99) and nunchucks ($24.99) on a regular basis. I think they stick around a little while longer because of the price.

Buying a PS3 makes a little more sense if you don't have a 360. I assumed you did.

Part of my (personal) objection to buying a PS3 is that the act of purchasing it validates the ridiculous decision to charge $600 for a console. However...I will admit that I'm a little hypocritical seeing as I would plunk down $600 in a heartbeat if FF13 or MGS4 were out right now.

Oh, I was just answering your statement as it seemed like you were saying that everyone that bought one was an idiot... which they may all be... I'll just be joining them soon.

I do have a 360, but I know that I'll want a PS3 eventually, and have the money now to buy it.. .so why not.

Plus with God of War II running in 720P on the PS3... That's very nice bonus for the next few months.

yeah, my cable went out until about 12. sucked because I wanted to see the premiers on Adultswim. It also sucked because I thought they finally caught on that they never cut off the cable after the guy who lived in the is apt before me left

for me, I knew I would buy one eventually and I just happened upon a few opportunities to get one under retail and I finally hopped on one. I also really wanted a 20gb model (the chrome trim is lame and a 60gb laptop HD is like $50.)

Finally, the "no games" argument is true for this moment, but the year is looking pretty good, starting with Virtua Fighter next week, Heavenly Sword, Tekken, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Devil May Cry 4 -- these are games together are enough reason to own the thing.

Yeah. I'm thinking I might just run out to Target or Walmart and pick up a 20GB model tonight. I just don't have any interest in the Wireless stuff, or the card readers... but it might just make sense for me to pick up the 60GB model for my new house...

Hell, I don't know anymore.

Ok. I picked up the 60GB model. The fact that I don't know what my wiring situation will be like in my new house made it easier to spend the extra $100. I'd need to spend somewhere near that on a Wireless Bridge anyway.

The funny thing is the fact that they were sold out of Resistance until this morning. They just got received another 8 as I was walking into the department.

They also had the memory card adapters in stock, but I'm going to check with a friend to see if he bought one before I drop the $15 on it and then sell it on Ebay.

I got the last copy of Wii Play today at Walmart (Westside - Madison). It's essentially a $50 game with a free Wii controller or a Wii controller with a $10 game (it depends on your perspective I guess).

While Gamestop/EB sold out of pre-orders almost instantly (Wii Play isn't even listed on their website), Walmart and Target were supposed to be getting copies yesterday or today. If you're looking for this game, it may pay to look there first.

The East Side Pre-played had Resistance for $44.99, in case you like used games. Their games are usually perfect.

I saw Wii Play at the West Madison Best Buy earlier today.

I should have just picked it up and sold the game to a friend who already has 4 remotes.

Mine is on the way from Amazon.

Thanks for the info. I used a Gamer Gift Card and got it for $55. I'll keep them in mind for used stuff in the future. I haven't looked at them all that much of late.
Anyone hear anything about that Costco they were supposed to make?
You mean the one in Grafton?? Last I heard, it is slated to open in September. It has taken forever for WI to get a Costco. So, it stands to reason that the first one they build they take their sweet ass time.

There were no wii plays at west madison BB at 6pm last night. Guy said there were 40 at the east madison. I heard they were breaking ground for the madison Costco. I dont know specifical where but I thought in middleton.

I heard something about a Costco in the Middleton area as well... but I can't remember where.

And here is a pdf about the new Costco coming.

I do like the system... although I still haven't played anything other than playing the Motorstorm demo and the GTHD download.

One thing that I want to try and test out tonight is playing H.264 files. I have some sporting events that I've recorded via an HD Tuner and I want to see how well they work on there. If they do... I'll be a very, very happy man.

Hey West Siders- does the Westown Mall Sears carry video games? I've gotten a bunch of good stuff at the east side Sears (random example: Mario Party 5 for $10), but the one time I looked for games in the west side Sears, I couldn't find them.
Anyone hear anything about that Costco they were supposed to make?
There was an article in last weekend's Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel-Sentinel/Journal about the Grafton one.

I believe it said it would be opening this September.

I can't wait, we've needed a Costo here for a long tiime.

Scott

The Sears in Fox River Mall (Appleton) used to be a clearance gold mine 4-5 years ago. I remember picking up a bunch of PS1, PS2 and Gamecube games for $5-10 several times. Haven't checked it out in 3 years at least.

Only the East-side Sears (Madison) has games. I can confirm the West-side hasn't had them since the PS1 days.

Thanks a lot guys. The east side Sears is totally dry right now. They had some good clearances on Gamecube/Xbox/GBA games, but they're all dried up now. If I find any more good stuff there I'll be sure to post here.

BTW, is it time for Madison to bust out into it's own thread? Seems like we're 75% of this thread, and it's probably justified as it's a college town.

Pewaukee, WI Wal-Mart had about 6 GBA Micros for $35 as of 7 PM last night.

Be careful though: all but 2 of them were opened. They were still complete though.

I picked up one of the unopened ones.

For anybody around the Brookfield area the Best Buy still has FF12 Art Collection dvds left for $.01. They had a million of them. Don't be a dick and hoard them though.
