WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 OUT NOW!!!

Have any of you had a gander at the achievements for this game?

Win 50 consecutive online matches? Beat every superstar in the game? Win a match as every superstar in the game? This shit's *crazy* (not FFXI crazy, but fuckin' crazy).

FFXI has achievements? What are they?

I just looked them up. Those are fucking rediculous. hitting level 75 takes months of constant play... for 30 fucking points.

I figure doing season mode enough times and enough online multiplayer I'm sure the beat everyone achievement will happen.

50 consecutive wins - online - seems im-fucking-possible.

Even if you got a friend to help you out, it would take, like, 30 hours.

I dunno. I'd be happy to schedule a time with someone to trade wins. If you just pin 'em right away, you could get 10-20 matches done in an hour.

Now I'm really pissed... Yukes went and made a pretty decent Vince McMahon, even has his MUSIC, yet we CAN'T play as him???

fuck you, Yukes.

We should do that. Maybe this weekend we can get started if you're around.

Maybe a little bit longer... after every match you have to make another room, invite the other person back, deal with all the loading, blah blah blah.

Really, the achievement isn't THAT hard, you just have to be pretty decent at the game.

I just did Parking Lot Brawl, threw the Big Show up against the hearse, I thought my guy (Cena) would just do the "Punch in the face to crack the window" grapple, but instead Cena threw Big Show back into the hearse, the door opened, and BOOGEYMAN was there rubbing up on some coffin and Cena closed the hearse door again

Man, Season mode is so fucking boring.

I'm just skipping every match now except for PPV matches. The funny part is I still win 9/10 times when I just sim it.
yea i skip matches too now.... dont know y i dont feel like playin...

gay that we cant atleast pick vince, teddys, or stephs song
Yep, the songs are in the game yet we can't use them for CAW.

I just finished the rumble and got Stone Cold... now I've got all the legends.

Finished the first tier of challenges too and unlocked the Saturday Night Main Event arena and a belt.

There we go... just finished all the challenges (skipped the last one because you don't get shit for doing it) and I've unlocked everything in the single player game.

Now I can just put this game on the shelf for casual play / online play.

The challenges were alot of fun.
John Cena's story starts REALLY close to Wrestlemania.

All I did was do the storyline with Big Show, team up with Show and win all 4 matches, finish the story, get a title shot, bam, Wrestlemania.

8 matches tops, and you can make the match against Triple H a no DQ match and just beat on him with a chair and win in a minute.
Wait, so Cena's starts before the Rumble, I need to unlock Stone Cold for my last legend

Seriously, how fucking lame is it that if you use WWE entrance themes for your CAW, they are tied to the superstar they are assigned to so they fade when they fade for the superstar entrance...I've tried three themes now and all of them fade out just as my guy is getting into the ring. And RVD's theme had the RVD chants in it. Ugh.

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Has it always been like this for the SD games?
Wait, so Cena's starts before the Rumble, I need to unlock Stone Cold for my last legend
Use Batista, sim everything and make sure to not get the belt, you'll get to the rumble in like 20 min.

Alright thanks, I'll try this tomorrow

Picked up two books at the library today. The Rise and Fall of ECW and "Choke Hold: Pro Wrestling's Real Mayhem Outside the Ring."

ECW started off really condescending and kinda burying the company, while still claiming that it was "innovative." It's ghost written, and that's a tough fucking thing to choke through (Flair's was tolerable, but not great). There are some interesting Heyman stories so far. The book seems to be snidely written with the intent to be read by smart marks, though I dunno if I like that part or not. It'll probably be an all right read, but so poorly written that I'm glad to have checked it out instead of bought it.

Choke Hold was witten by a wrestler named Jim Wilson and a sociologist-for-hire named Weldon T Johnson. I didn't notice that last part (that Johnson has no university affiliation, which means he's probably a hack writer). I may skim through some of it, but it looks like it's gonna be the "dark side" of wrestling: backstage politics, drug use and abuse, sexual exploits...y'know, really tabloidy stuff. All under the umbrella of the "wrestling promotions exploit workers and treat them like pieces of meat" argument, with the salty finish of "these guys need to unionize." I haven't read it, so it's all speculation of course...but I'd be quite surprised if I turn out to be incorrect about the book.

Does anyone have any tips on how to beat Legend Challenge #5 - Personality Disorder? It's the one were you are Dude Love and you have to square off against Mick Foley, Cactus Jack and Mankind all at the same time. I tried winning by count out but that is not working and if I get into the ring, I get raped by all three.

Keep trying by count out... here's another tip I used for some of the harder legends. It's cheating, but who the fuck cares.

Go into Options ---> Match Options ---> DQ set to OFF.

This will override every single match in the game to turn off the DQ, INCLUDING Challenge's.

Two of the Mick Foley clones will come out to the ring, you grab a chair, pummel the shit out of them, wait until 9, climb back into the ring.

It was the ONLY way I could win.

Yeah I ended up messing with the options to set the DQ to OFF and then grabbed a chair, ran up the ramp and clocked Foley with the chair a couple of times until the counter was about at 8. I then ran and slid back into the ring for the count out win. It's cheap but hey, they weren't having any mercy on me.

I'm probably going to have to do that DQ thing with the Mexicools vs. UT/Kane challenge. Having it set on "hard" probably isn't helping either.

This was the first time I used the DQ trick.

One of them ALWAYS follows you outside, for me it was Undertaker, I just railed on him 500000 times with the chair, threw him back inside the ring, threw Kane OUT of the ring so I could pin UT.

Once of them goes down, the other one is easy.

I think this is somewhere else in the thread but I didn't see it in any of the recent pages...how the hell do you pick up the stairs? I've tried standing at the side, at the end, moving while pressing A, standing still while pressing A...nothing. I think I've done it exactly ONE time and I don't remember how I did it.

Beats me, I did it once by accident and never figured it out again.

I think you have to stand at the bottom of them like you were going to walk up them... but then its been a while since I've used them.
damn...i suck at this game...lost to big show and viscera and lost the 2 on 1 handicap vs big show so far :(
These titles always take me a long as time to get used to.

damn...i just lost to big show twice in the cage match...each time he just escapse from the top of the cage...what a little bitch!

As a smaller wrestler, you -can't- entirely. Bummer.

I've yet to figure out how to grab the signs out of the crowd.

Saw this on the CAWS site...

That's pretty ridiculous. Holy detail.
I've yet to figure out how to grab the signs out of the crowd.
You walk up to them and hit A. I think the only time you can do it is when you jump the guardrail.
Meh... Looks alright. I think I remember seeing a better CAW for '06.

Anyone know why CM Punk has a Pepsi tattoo? Boggles the mind.
I don't follow ROH so this might not be 100% accurate. His finisher used to be the Pepsi plunge, and the Pepsi comes from being straight edge (something about those who are straight edge like caffinee or something like that)

Supposedly he got it as a joke in school when a lot of the guys in frats were getting beer logo tattoos.

The guy from Minor Threat was asked why he had a Coca-Cola tattoo, and he replied "I like Coke." Punk uses the same line to explain his.

Ahh, wikipedia.

I've found by standing at the "handles" you are able to pick up the stairs more often. And like mentioned above, only heavyweights seem to be able to do it.

I'm fucking sick of trying to win MOTB on legendary to get the ECW arena. This shit goes beyond "fun" into "annoying and stupid."

Are you using the tips I posted like 4 pages back?

fucking fuck!! I finally win it, but because I had one of the people as a stationary 2nd player (one less person to worry about), it didn't give me the achievement.

Jesus Christ. Still can't win, even with the featherweight scrubs "strategy." Can someone tell me the fucking proper way to get the meter on the case going? 70% of the time when I get up there I'll reach for it and get nothing and/or reach for it and just fall off the fucking ladder, 10% of the time I'll get up there and grab it, but despite the controller vibrating the meter doesn't go down, and the rest of the time I'm special-move suplex'd off of there immediately. I know not much can be done about the latter, but is there some special thing you have to do to actually grab the case in the first place? Do you have to reach with one stick and then move the other until it decreases, or what? And what about doing the run-up-the-ladder grab? I think I pulled it off maybe one time, and even then I just hung on it without the meter going down.

You have to move the stick around until you find the "sweet spot" which is the controller rumbling, and then hold it there. You only HAVE to use one stick, however if you use both he grabs it with two hands, find the sweet spot on each stick, and the meter drains super fast.

Try to set up the ladder as close to the case as you can.

Set up a two player ladder match title match with the second player stationary and practice on the belt.

For the Featherweights, use Giant Khali, get most of them dead and bleeding (it dosen't take long) and then THROW THEM OUT OF THE RING! They will be dead outside of the ring for AT LEAST two minutes, it gives you more than enough time to grab the case. You need to use Khali since THEIR MOVES WON'T WORK ON HIM, except for that stupid special move suplex, but you should make sure they all dead before even attempting to climb the ladder. When they are spread out not moving, all 5 of them, then you strike.

Just take the first 5 minutes to beat the shit out of the featherweights with your normal moves. In the end, I threw three of them out, gave his super brain chop to the other two (one saved special, the other earned) and by the time I grabbed the case they were still knocked out.

I am pretty sure this was mentioned somewhere, but whose story starts out before the rumble? I think it was Cena's, unless he started before wrestlemania I can't remember.

I missed out on the royle rumble trophy and the armageddon trophy my first try through.

Got it finally...had to just keep pecking away at the amount left to go on the case meter and then jump in when it was finally down to almost nothing. Man that was annoying.

Anyone know what the secret achievments are?
