Last year's was good, but every year that goes by it seems like the roster gets worse and worse. Think I'll stick with 07.

I would give anything to see Fire Pro ported to the XBLA.

Smackdown Vs Raw just gets worse and worse every year.

Not all the versions will be the same. This is coming out for 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, AND DS. This will be dedicated to the 360 version, since IMO, I think most people will be interested in. I'm interested in it, so there. :p

I would be lying if I wasn't a little intrigued to see how the Wii version will play. Even the DS version! I may have to pick them up when they are cheap!

No Cade, Murdoch, Kendrick, London, Boogeyman, Miz, Matt Striker, Kevin Thorne...the roster is weak, and is even worse if they keep the trend of only letting you use a select group of wrestlers in the season mode.
 
I hope we get a demo again this year..and ya know what I miss? This might sound stupid..but I hate the fact that if you are using divas in a match..your match types are limited. That sucks. fuck that, I want Mickie James and Melina to fuck each other up in a Hell in a Cell--Why can't I?!? I hated that about previous games...

Me and my 3 friends used to have DAILY "McMahon Ladder Matches" back on No Mercy. Vince vs Linda vs Stephanie vs Shane in a McMahon ladder match! :lol: Sometimes it was tag teams too..ohh..good times!

No Mercy had such an incredible roster. I mean.. you got to be Linda McMahon..Godfather's Ho(s)...Earl Hebner..Michael Cole.. oh MAN I need to play that again!!
 
I'll be getting it for sure, I own every single one of these games. Im a bit dissapointed with the roster though, Im just hoping that they are going to have some downloadable content and be able to download some more wrestlers.

I wish they would just stop with the legends, maybe include just 4 like Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Bret Hart. Also I dont know why they left off Victoria once again. Hopefully this year divas can be used in any sort of match and not be limited to just singles matches as its a game, we should decide what to do with it and not be limited to what they want us to play with whatever set of wrestlers/divas.

Yeah NoMercy was a fun game for its time, I think that Raw 2 had a huge roster which made it enjoyable even if it had some annoying glitches. I also enjoyed how in Raw 2 you could play up to 4 players story mode and decided what to do before the matches. I dont know why they dont add something like that for Smackdown. I usually hate the career mode, its boring, repetitive and set up.

Raw 2 was pretty fun! We DO need more multiplayer story modes. I remember I played the hell out of that game..and I gave up with RVD and for shits and giggles did career mode with Jackie! lmao, I remember her first cut scene was her chasing Stephanie McMahon's limo.. :rofl: oh that was hillarious--we don't get anything good like that anymore.

I take that back. That Candice Michelle storyline in 2007 was out of control. REALLY bizarre.
 
Hopefully the new extreme rules match wont be limited to ECW superstars only. Seems kind of interesting with the new flaming table.
 
The last good wrestling game from Yuks was WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain!. Yes, it is from 2003, but it's the game my friends and I routinely play, since all the games after that one just suck; a lack of characters(ones that you'd actually want to play as) and the lack of moves make this game and the svr series crap. THe problem is, of course, too many people keep buying the damn things, so they don't have all that much incentive to stop being lazy shits and put some more characters and moves in. Oh yeah, they are making the game look nicer and more realisitic just because of the TNA game that is coming out, but why do they not have more moves? Anyway, the TNA game doesn't look too promising anymore, however I don't think it can be any worse than the svr series.
 
this game is gonna suck just like 07. they took out all the signature grapples becuase they where sued so now just like in 07 all the moves are gonna be arm drags and stuff like that. best wrestling game ever=hctp
 
The only way I'm buying this is if they let you use your own music in Create-A-Wrestler mode. Even though RAW 2 may have been a mediocre game at best, my friends and I played that thing for years just making up our own characters and storylines.

Revenge was pretty good, as that was the first game (I believe) to introduce Managers. I thought that was so awesome. It was the first game for me at least, to play with managers. Was really fun..especially when there were 4 people playing. We'd have DDP vs Macho Man and me and my other friend would be Elizabeth & Kimberly ..and we just beat the shit outta each other :rofl:

I agree about Raw 2 being kickass...from the sheer amount of customization (you could have a 8'11" created guy and make actual custom entrances!) to the way you had a special for every position (front, back, turnbuckle...) and how you could interfere in every move (im not talking about interfering on matches - that was shit, but if h was about to pedigree me a com hbk could stop him with a sweet chin)

As far as SvR's go I'd have to say that 06 was my favorite...with stamina off of course, it was a really well designed game that I still play here and there with friends

Oh and one last thing: I just saw the Hell in a Cell match featuring Batista and Taker and the Hud design isn't good imo. I really liked the 06 hud, why they couldn't leave that alone I don't know...same goes with the actual wrestling - they just had to make it with the analogs...

This will be the only game to officially have KING BOOKAH as part of the roster!!!
It was referenced in the last game, but he didn't have the gimmicked-out entrance and everything.

Oh and I really wish they would bring back the double-down 10 count in this game. It was so sweet when a guy would hit his finisher and then collapse in '06. I was so pissed when I realized they took that out for '07.
 
Custom soundtracks as in custom entrance music or just background music? Also I heard something about being able to download new wrestlers on the PS3 version. Are we going to be able to do this with the 360 version?

It took me a long time to track down a decent copy of HCTP. Glad I have it again, though
 
The IGN article states that it's for entrances!! The PS3 version gets a first-person entrance mode.

The PS3 and the Xbox 360 are getting exclusive features in their individual builds of the game. On the PlayStation 3, you'll be able to press R2 during your character's entrance and switch to a first-person mode. Taking advantage of the Sixaxis, you'll move your controller in whatever direction you want and the on-screen view will follow. You can toggle the view on and off with a click of R2, but don't you want to read all of the signs?


As for the 360 -- drum roll, please -- WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 will allow you to take the music off your Xbox 360 hard drive and put it into the game. Want your own soundtrack? It's there. Want Undertaker to come out to Flock of Seagulls? Have at it. Want your created character to come out to your friend's Garage Band track? It's go time!

Now I just need to know if we'll be able to have download wrestlers or if that is a PS3 exclusive feature.

I'm also looking for a clear Rick Rude theme song. I'm sure he'll have some generic song as his entrance.
 
Let's just hope you can also edit the themes of the original superstars. I doubt you can. I'd love to edit King Booker and take him back to his WCW days.

I know it'd fuck with season mode, but couldn't they make it to where the wrestlers are set to default for season, but then in like Create A PPV and Exhibition and stuff, we could edit the original guys?

Furthermore, why is there no "create a show" mode? I'd love a season mode where I could name the shows, PPVs, design the arenas, etc.

Go ahead and start making lists of superstar themes needed, I have pretty much everything.
 
Omfg At Custom Soundtracks!!!!!!!! finally raw 2 and wm21 can be put down.

finally goldberg will rule again! it would be awesome though if custom soundtracks worked online..

i have a shit load of themes as well.. i wish the 360 would let you copy the themes from the pc directly. i know the ps3 lets you copy from the network...

i dont want to have to burn them on cd and then rip them on my 360..

o and wtf is up with downloadable wrestlers on ps3.. has this been mentioned on 360.. it doesnt make sense
 
Well, custom soundtracks just sold me on this one. My Walker Texas Ranger CAW will finally have the correct theme music.

As for the exclusive content, did the PS3 get screwed over or what? Wow. 1st person entrances? Who cares?
