Mega Man Legacy Collection has made me straight up hate Mega Man 1. They love throwing that stupid part in Gutsman stage (where you jump on moving platforms over a huge pit) in almost every challenge in the game and trying to defeat Elec Man with no items in boss rush (he is random as fuck) is seriously testing the last ounces of my patience. Defeating the challenges involving Mega Man 1 aren't really that hard, but trying to reach the target times for gold are straight up obnoxious.

And apparently, no new BC game this week, although I did notice Project Cars and Evolve are now showing up in my ready to install list.

Magnet Beam the shit out of those Gutsman platforms. The frames on the platform have always felt off to me and like they drop faster and sooner than they should, it's maddening, but the challenges should give you all abilities and let you just run past them all. Speedrunners even exploit a glitch where if you get into the top of the screen with the Magnet Beam, you get carried through the air really quickly. I can't get it to work consistently, though.

 
I bought both Forza 5 and Oxenfree for $10 each. So that's not too bad. But haven't touched either one yet. Still pretty new to this site. I need to learn these things.

 
For those that remember Forza Horizon going GWG last year and then getting delisted about a month later, I suspect Forza 5 may get the same treatment this year. Forza 5 came out a year after the first Horizon, so I'd be willing to bet they have similar licensing agreements.

Given that, achievement hunters beware, two achievements in FM5 require dlc cars. The Long Beach and Nurburgring dlc packs should be baked into the digital GOTY version like they are on the disc.

Yeah, I know about the magnet beam exploit, you pretty much have to use it or you won't get gold on any challenge that involves the original mega man. It's just that annoying that they throw that stage at you constantly and jarring when a screen of a challenge is from the smooth and responsive controls of Mega Man 6 and then transitions to the clunky, somewhat slippery controls of mega man 1. And you have to re-adjust to the slowdown that occurs when several enemies jump on the screen.

Forza 6 would have been nice, but now they can make it a GWG in two years when Forza 8 is getting ready to come out, lol.

Nice month. hydro, oxen, and F5 will be new to me. I'll be glad to get some extra tier points in F5.

If I remember correctly BF3 had a nice collection of extra maps (aftermath, endgame etc) that were at one time free. Can't seem to find them on XBL now?

Agreed. I can replay MM1 and tolerate its shortcomings / enjoy it just fine, I beat it about twice a year for fun, but speedrunning it makes those warts more evident and it stops being fun to me - especially when it's mixed in with the refined later games which benefit from the formula being perfected.

I'm torn between Prey, Bioshock, and Shadow Warrior 2. I already have the 360 versions of all the Bioshocks, is it worth it for the omgHD and DLC? Prey looks alright if you think of it as System Shock 3 rather than Prey 2, but there's only so many -shock games one can take. I picked up SW 1 but got bored. Despite the poor reviews of the sequel, the loot, mission structure, and coop look like they would have the hook the 1st was missing for me. Any thoughts one way or the other on those?

I bought EA Access last year for $20 plus $2 or $3 shipping from NewEgg. Hadn't seen that price maybe once since. Like others I am not into the sports games and own or have played most of the other games. It is a great value if you like what EA Access offers and don't already own much of it. But I can understand people not subscribing to it. I let it lapse 2 months ago and haven't missed it for a second. I could see me grabbing another year for cheap at some point but it isn't must have by any stretch for me.

Never finished the first BioShock. Already beat Infinite. If/when it hits $20 I will probably buy it again and not play it.

I loved Shadow Warrior and bought SW2 a month or so ago for $24.99 on PSN. This week both have it for $20. Want to try the co-op out with a friend of two hopefully at least one picks it up this week.

 
Is FM5 pretty close in terms of game play to FM6?  I got in on the Amazon UE price glitch for FH7 but really not sure it is something I will enjoy.  I hate racing games and the only one I have played for more then an hour is FH2 and FH3.  

Really on the fence but if I can get a decent idea on the difference between Horizon and Motorsports by play 5 I will give it a try to see if I want to keep my pre-order or not.

 
The beta of the Bedrock version of Minecraft is up now. You need to own the digital version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and then access it from the Xbox Insider Hub app on your console. This is the version that is going to bring all versions of the game in sync with each other as far as features go, and allow for crossplay.

It's missing a couple features currently and they said it crashes some, but it has infinite world size, up to 30 players in one game, keyboard and mouse support, and better draw distance.

 
Dang it.  Just bought Oxenfree not long ago but those the breaks.  Forza 5 is a great addition though.  Don't own the 360 games so that is cool.

Edit: I see I spent almost $9 on Oxenfree.  That makes it sting a bit.

My xbox came with Forza 5 so it's a rare time I own a digital copy of the xbone GwG, none of the games this month interest me, here's to hoping for better in October.

I think so. But the online play is 1v1 pvp but with a support team (tag team). I've played some of UNS 4. But only story mode.

Shinobi Striker will be 4v4 pvp all outbattles but doesn't seem to have a story mode. Amazon says It's due out 12/31/2018 (?).

I run the CAG one and I think Student runs the game night one. Neither are used much but it has a lot of members if you're looking to add CAGs, I think "CAG" has 150 members.

I remember when the creator of XBMP (it's predecessor to XBMC) sent me his first compile of a XDK code example that played WMV movies. A lot has evolved since.

I believe it was recently confirmed that it will have a story mode and if I remember correctly its supposed to be about your created character.

Holy crap a game I actually owned, played, and beat is on this list.

Too bad it's Battlefield 3. Maybe Bad Company 2 spoiled me but I just couldn't get into this game's campaign and the multiplayer matches constantly kicked my butt.

The other three are games I never heard of so not a bad month by default.

 
Just picked up my Corsair headset from best buy, was worried that it would be cancelled since it wasn't available for pickup until 5 days later

Definitely fake, who would this slide even be for at this point? No more big Xbox presentations for a while, and I'm sure Halo 6 already has it's title at this point, or would be labeled as 6 even though we know it's going subtitle only. The first 5 are easy, Ninja Gaiden is a maybe, but I don't believe Dino Crisis or Dead Rising 5.

 
Don't remember if it came up before but that new version of Minecraft, including it's beta, has a separate achievement list. I think it's the same stuff, minus the mini-game related achievements since they aren't in the new version yet.

To my eye they are just about the same as EA sports updates at this point, might be some new tracks maybe better graphics, but fundamentally the same game.

I can honestly say I never thought of trying the beams on the Guts Man stage. I mean, how crazy would it be if someone actually jumped on each of those platforms in the Guts Man stage and got through every time?

Can't say I've ever tried speedrunning, though. I'd rather go at my own pace with games and play it naturally without using cheats and glitches. Getting to the end of the game was enough of an achievement for me (with Mega Man, it's playing it in a different order almost every time and still beating it).

I didn't play the Path of Exile beta... is it similar to Diablo? How much game is there before it feels like you need to start buying stuff?

Wondering if getting Pillars of Eternity next week is a better play here...

The devs of paths to exile had said they are heavily against anything pay to play. All things you can buy are supposed to be cosmetic. I think there are also "convienence" purchases. Like extra tabs

Also excited because I finally changed my juvenile Gamertag of M4V3R1CKfan11 to Mav A Nice Day...you know like "Have a nice day?"...but with my Mav theme?...get it?...ok I'll leave.
