Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

WWCD (what would CAG do?)

Ok this gas station I visit often has a rewards program and Im almost at the 105K points mark which is enough to get a $100 giftcard. Now would CAG get the Xbox, the Visa, or the Gamestop gift card?

discuss
I'd buy a MS GC for that sweet, sweet sales action on Mondays...

Anyone heard anything on if the X1X will be offered in bundles? I can't recall off the top of my head if the PS4 Pro is offered in any. Would be cool to package it with one of the big fall releases.
I Can't think of any game consoles as a whole that release a bundle day one of release. Retailers will occasionally package something with it during holiday's at best, but there's really no reason for them to make any kinda bundle during the launch or really within the first year.

FYI 2.....the Ultimate Disk installs the Ultimate edition, but it displays in yuour games as SSIV AE....yea Hugo. Odd they didn't mention it.

But we're talking about a mid-cycle refresh system. We haven't had any before so you can't look at past data (it's not there). I think that'll also boil down to what Microsoft thinks they need to do. Everybody think it's too high, they might throw something in there or point out the fact that all their BC games work better with it lol.

Yep. It would just be blowing money on their part. They are going to sell out of their launch allotment regardless so why would they lose themselves money by giving away a game with it also? You save bundles for holidays or lulls in the season when system sales are low.

Played an hour of Yooka Laylee and think its just as bad if not worse than reviews, so much platforming that leads to nothing and is just a waste of time

on the subject of pack in games, I mean the wii being one of the most successful consoles ever launched with a pack in game, also Forza 5 starting being bundled with xbox after just a few months.

Unless they make a move moving into Vr or augmented, it's hard to justify a 1X. Right now there is only a more powerful machine but nothing exclusive. True 4k is nice but is only as good as the games are made. I've been struggling to justfy getting one.

Street Fighter never showed up in my ready to install list for some reason. Had to go to the store page to install it. Thats a first. Drove me nuts for awhile.
It wasn't showing up for me either. Then I noticed a "show most recent titles" tile at the top of the list with a little refresh icon. I clicked that and it showed up. Must be a new thing, or I'm just really unobservant.

Except Microsoft is saying even games not optimized for the X1 are going to look better and run better on the X1X. This idea that the machine does not offer "exclusives" is not even an issue. Forza 7 in 4K is going to be glorious. Not to mention older X1 games getting the 4K treatment. Games are not going to change much in the next 5 years but being able to change how they look and run can in Nov. That is more than enough for me. I am not saying everyone should get the X1X but there are plenty of reason to justify getting one.

I will spoiler it but here is a bunch of info on the stuff the X1X is going to bring to the table. If you like capturing video there won't be anymore of that 720p stuff and you will be able to record in 4K when available.

Seems like some people on this board are still confused or still have their doubts about the Xbox One X and how incredibly badass it is. Here's a quick rundown of the most powerful console ever created that should educate some of you.
https://seasonedgaming.com/2017/06/27/xbox-one-x-setting-the-record-straight-and-technical-faq/amp/

Run games at higher resolutions: The X1X has the power to run games above the 720p/900p/1080p we typically see today. Microsoft’s goal was to provide developers enough power to run games at “4K” resolution which is 2160p.

Run games at higher framerates: The X1X has the power to potentially run games at 60fps (or beyond) whereas they might have been 30fps or a variable frame rate on the original Xbox One.

Improve load times: The X1X has additional, faster RAM and a faster internal hard drive than the standard Xbox One which Microsoft has said will improve load times.

Offer a faster UI: The X1X UI should benefit from the new console components to make navigation faster and easier.

Offer an updated Game DVR: The Xbox One and Xbox One S have a game DVR that captures footage at 720p. Microsoft has confirmed the X1X will be able to capture game footage at up to 4K (2160p).

Offer Supersampling: Supersampling is a technique developers use to improve graphical fidelity. By utilizing the additional power of the X1X, developers can process an image at a higher resolution, and then scale it down to fit the display resolution the player is using. Supersampled images reduce aliasing (referred to commonly as “jaggies”) and generally look “cleaner” to the naked eye compared to a non-supersampled image at the same resolution.*

Offer Anisotropic Filtering: Anisotropic filtering is another technique developers use to improve graphical fidelity. Its primary goal is to improve texture detail and clarity from varied viewing angles. Again, the goal is a cleaner and sharper overall image*

Offer Checkerboard Rendering: “Checkerboarding” is a process that developers use to present games at a specific resolution even when not rendering “natively”. Often times, running a game at a native resolution (especially 4K) requires too much processing power and thus, developers utilize techniques like checkerboarding to display a 4K image without the console having to process all of the pixels of a true/native 4K image. Rather, checkerboarding takes a lower resolution image then reconstructs parts of it using a filter to produce a 4K image that looks similar to what it would look like natively. When done well, it can be highly effective.*

*These are highly simplified explanations and I would encourage you to research the details more thoroughly should you be so inclined. I apologize to engineers and game developers in advance for the above explanations.

Those are the basic features the X1X will offer over the standard Xbox One and Xbox One S. But with all the talk around the X1X, a plethora of questions have arisen. Sadly, there are many people answering these questions incorrectly and/or spreading further misinformation. So let’s go one by one and settle these once and for all shall we? Here goes…

Do I need a 4K TV to benefit from the Xbox One X?
No. This is likely the largest misunderstanding surrounding the X1X and it is repeated far too often. As noted above, due to the power of the X1X which allows developers additional resources to use techniques like supersampling, anisotropic filtering, and others, the same 1080p image on an X1X will be superior to a standard Xbox One. It’s also possible for the X1X to run a game at a higher framerate than the Xbox One even if the resolution is the same (an often overlooked but large feature) and it can also improve load times as well. Additionally, there will likely be further improvements to the UI processing, game DVR, and other apps running on the system.

Will there be games in the future that only run on the Xbox One X but not the standard Xbox One?
No. Microsoft has been very clear that the Xbox One X is part of the Xbox One family as I said above. This means that all games will work on all Xbox One devices.

It’s possible of course that when the next Xbox arrives years down the road this may change. But for the foreseeable future this is accurate and the Xbox team’s official statement.

Will there be two different versions of games, one for the Xbox One/S and one for the Xbox One X?
No. There will only be one version of all games and they will work on all Xbox One consoles.

What do they mean by “Xbox One X Enhanced” titles?
For games to run at higher resolutions and framerates on the X1X, developers have to push extra updates for the games that include new code and additional assets. You can find out if a game will support additional or improved features on the X1X by looking at the Xbox website, the digital store, or by looking at the game box (as there will be an icon). As the improvements can vary by title, it’s worth researching ahead of time what each offers. Again, this is up to the developer.

It’s also worth noting that these updates will require additional storage space over the standard game. As has always been true, more advanced titles with better graphics, sound, and processing require more memory.

Why don’t developers offer higher framerates above 60fps like in many PC games?
Technically speaking, they certainly could. Again, Microsoft is not mandating what developers do so we might see that from some titles. However, it’s typically because refresh rates of most TVs, on which the vast majority of console owners play games, don’t go beyond a 60hz refresh rate. Therefore any additional frames would be wasted processing power that could be better utilized elsewhere.

Outside of the games that developers improve specifically for the Xbox One X, will I see any benefits in other games?
Yes! Many games nowadays are coded with variable resolutions and framerates. This means that the game engine will raise and lower the resolution and/or framerate at certain sections of the game depending on what is happening on-screen. For instance, a game like Battlefield 1 can vary between 720p and 1080p depending on how much action is occurring on-screen (due to how much processing power is needed to keep the game running smoothly). Because the X1X is much more powerful, it has the capability to always run the game in 1080p while also maintaining a steady framerate. Improvements in this regard will occur automatically when playing on the X1X without the need for any downloads or updates.

If I have an Xbox One or Xbox One S, will I be forced to download the Xbox One X updates for games even though I can’t use them?
No. Microsoft has confirmed that only X1X owners will download the additional updates for “Xbox One X enhanced games”.

If I don’t have a 4K TV, why would I be forced to download 4K updates for games on my Xbox One X?
This goes back to techniques like supersampling that I described above. Developers use those assets to enhance the games even if you will be displaying them on a 1080p (or lesser) TV. In the end, you will still see improvements and benefit from the updates.

Why can’t Microsoft simply include these updates on the disc so I don’t have to download them?
While the Xbox One X and S support UHD Blu-ray discs, the standard Xbox One does not. The original Xbox One only supports dual layer Blu-ray discs which have a maximum storage capacity of 50gb. As games, especially with 4K assets, are now progressing beyond 100gb in size, it would be impossible to include all of that data on disc (even UHD discs at times). Remember, all Xbox One games must work on all Xbox One devices. Therefore, all hard copies will still come on standard Blu-ray discs and additional updates, including the Xbox One X enhancements, will need to be downloaded.

What if I have a monthly data cap on my internet connection?
If you do have a limit, then it is absolutely something you should be aware of and research ahead of time to see how this may impact your usage. There is no way to tell the size of each X1X enhanced game ahead of time, but for reference Forza Motorsport 7 is rumored to be 100gb with the X1X enhancements.

Will I need anything extra when I upgrade to the Xbox One X?
Likely not but let’s be clear. The Xbox One X is 100% plug and play with the Xbox One S. You can unplug the S, use the same cables to plug in the X, and it will be perfectly fine (that is amazing by the way – bravo Xbox engineering team). However, the original Xbox One uses a different power supply and also has a dedicated port for Kinect. If you plan to upgrade from the original Xbox One to the X, you will use the new power cord that comes with the X and need a USB adaptor if you want to continue using the Kinect. You can find that here: Xbox One S/X Kinect Adaptor

Is there a new controller that comes with the Xbox One X?
No. It is the same controller that was released with the Xbox One S last year with a mic port and bluetooth support.

What other features may the Xbox One X have that I may be missing?
We’ve covered a lot of them. But as I alluded to above, it’s rumored that the UI will not only be sharper, but also generally run faster. Also, unlike the Xbox One that captures video recordings at 720p, the X1X will support up to full 4K game capture. So if you’re a content creator and/or like sharing videos to social media, that could benefit you as well. It’s worth noting that video capture at 4K is quite rare right now partially due to the cost of entry. So if you plan to use it, this is a fantastic bonus of the X1X.

For those who are sure that own SSF4AE but it doesn't show up in "Ready to install", you can also try pressing and holding LB+RB+X precisely in Ready to install in order to display every single digital license you own.

This will display all games, betas and demos. You can then manually select what to hide or unhide. Then press and hold LB+RB+X again to hide everything you don't to see cluttering the Ready to Install section.

Anyone heard anything on if the X1X will be offered in bundles? I can't recall off the top of my head if the PS4 Pro is offered in any. Would be cool to package it with one of the big fall releases.
PS4 Pro's first bundle is the Destiny 2 bundle this Fall for $449.99. Probably to take some of the steam out of the Xbone X.

The Definitive Edition includes Shadow Jago?? Why don't I have the character then?
Check your Ready to Install for KI.

FYI 2.....the Ultimate Disk installs the Ultimate edition, but it displays in yuour games as SSIV AE....yea Hugo. Odd they didn't mention it.
SSFIV Ultra disc is basically a GOTY version of the Arcade Edition, that's why. What DLC is listed under "Ready to Install" when you have the disc in?

SSFIV AE is a great get for BC, just disappointed Sonic didn't get any love this week.

But we're talking about a mid-cycle refresh system. We haven't had any before so you can't look at past data (it's not there). I think that'll also boil down to what Microsoft thinks they need to do. Everybody think it's too high, they might throw something in there or point out the fact that all their BC games work better with it lol.
Call it what you want, but it's still technically the new hotness since it has all the latest in teraflops or whatever the fuck.

For anyone that has stat issues with Ultra SFIV -

What happens was I bought Ultra Edition upgrade back when it was on sale cheap. I only had Arcade edition installed so I had to download the DLC on my 360 *THEN* upgrade to Ultra on the 360. I then put my saves on the cloud, waited 20 minutes, and booted it up on the XBox One. All my stats were there after this ordeal. On the X1 it would automatically boot up as Ultra since I bought the DLC.

It technically is a mid-cycle refresh, every gaming site, Digital Foundry on Youtube and even Microsoft call it that. Figuratively it's the new hotness, alongside the Switch that is. It's pretty cold right now not having any pre-order accessibility though.

The best thing about it is that they've said they're going to optimize older and newer games for this system, list below. Basically they virtually adjusted their 1st party lineup with their calculations, built the customized hardware that could pull off the numbers and ported in previous code to test and run the games. I agree "True 4K" is marketing jargon but the memory upgrade, the GPU upgrade, CPU/Scorpio upgrade and the way everything communicates with each other, is like a dude in his garage tinkering with his V8 engine trying to get it to be producing the best performance.

All The Xbox One X Scorpio 4K Games Confirmed At E3 - could be more as this list is old.

  • Ark: Survival Evolved
  • Ashen
  • Assassin's Creed: Origins

Games will not even look great but they'll be faster, better frame rate and faster loading times - pretty much what everyone wants. Games that are part of the Xbox catalog already will run better on the X even without a patch, which is pretty cool. It's also liquid cooled! There's a ton inside that small box.

I just popped the Time to Get Serious, (beat a Championship in Hot Wheels) for FH3 and I was surprised it's .78% for that one. Granted there are the Hot Wheels Championships but still, just do your first regular Championship is less than 1% still (cause like when did Hot Wheels DLC come out, back in May?).

That Steam message on Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD has me worried. I think I'm going to have to grab it. I have so many good memories of the old ones, even if it doesn't go BC I'll prob keep my 360 for a while still. With it being $5 on 360 it's not too bad of a price.

Steam Message:
"This is your last chance to buy Tony Hawk ™s Pro Skater ® HD on Steam- the game will be retired from the store on July 17th."

You hit the nail on the head when it comes to Xbox not being on preorder right now. All the steam they built up with E3 and all they talk about and then say coming soon. Not sure it will really hurt sales in the long term, but it would help them to figure out what interest really looked like.

As far as the X1X goes improved graphics mean a lot. Smoother gameplay, some new features, better hardware. I will end up with one eventually but I see it technically as just buying a new GPU. I know it's more than that just using it as an example. For some they wouldn't even consider it since what they have works. Others want cutting edge. It may happen at some point but saying it would pair with some VR headset would have taken out my hesitation entirely. I want what this machine offers, but can I stand to wait for a price drop or bundle?

I Can't think of any game consoles as a whole that release a bundle day one of release. Retailers will occasionally package something with it during holiday's at best, but there's really no reason for them to make any kinda bundle during the launch or really within the first year.
Didn't the X1 bundle with Fifa in Europe and Madden in the US? Also pretty much every retailer here in Italy also bundled Forza 5 for free so that was definitely a MS promo.

That percentage counts across all the players of the game, and only 11.41% have the Welcome to Horizon Hot Wheels achievement. So a bit under 10% of the people that have started the DLC have gotten that far. Don't the championships unlock once you beat the Hot Wheels Goliath? That's the Hot Wheels Champion achievement, which is 1.97%. So less than half of the players who've beaten the Hot Wheels Goliath have gone on to finish a championship.

Not too far off from the corresponding Blizzard Mountain percentages. 13.33% have Welcome to Base Camp, 2.52% have Hail to the King and 1.08% have It's Not Over. The complete all championships achievements stand at .23% for Blizzard Mountain and .13% for Hot Wheels.

SSFIV AE is a great get for BC, just disappointed Sonic didn't get any love this week.
So I had the SSF IV AE from GWG, that installs as you would expect and runs without a disc.

I also have the Ultra disk and it installs as a separate instance still called SSF IV AE, but runs as Ultra and requires the disk.

The disk being in doesn't let me install the dlc for the other instance.

My save file says I'm 40% complete on Andromeda, which I assume means of all content, not just the main story. I'm over 30 hours, after exhausting sidequests I finally hit a point in the story where you find out more about what the kett are up to.

It's an interesting twist they've been assimilating Angara, but it's so overdone at this point. The Reapers did the same thing with colonies being abducted and it's also an obvious influence from the Borg in Trek, given the whole genetic component to assimilation. It also took a long time to meet any Kett who actually spoke, they were just silent aggressors and I think the story started off too slowly. I would have preferred if they built up the antagonists before giving the player access to so many sidequests, to create a sense of urgency to creating viable worlds.

The Angarans still feel like a bunch of Mufasa people who mated with Avatar creatures. I think they're the least interesting alien race in the series, especially compared to the Krogan and the Geth. I think the main characters are fine, the premise of the game is fine, but the Angarans feel like something from a fan-fiction forum and I have trouble caring about them.

I'm still enjoying it a lot, though, overall. My biggest complaint is that lady Ryder can't romance Cora, she says she doesn't date women but that haircut says otherwise.

Yeah, I think I was just over 60 hours when I completed, but I feel like I saw the Angara thing later than that. I was clearing out as much as possible on each planet before moving on though, aside from the "find the bullshit" quests. Personally I thought that Angara overall were alright, if retreading certain ground from the previous trilogy in a way. I really didn't like the Kett, but the overall mediocre-ness of the new species is heavily amplified since they are the only two races. I think we would have found more races in later games, and I guess the explanation would be the fact that Reapers didn't accelerate the tech of the races to get them to meet up like in the Milky Way, but it's still pretty jarring to only have two when the old games have a dozen.

I was going for Suvi with my FemRyder for most of the game, but PeeBee grew on me once she mellowed out. Suvi herself kind of had nothing going on after the first third, which sucked. Even Sam in 3 had more going on, and they were both a joke compared to how much Josephine in Inquisition was fleshed out. My comparison being that none of them were actual party members but just a part of your organization, but still have drastically different levels of character.

 Perhaps the best MEA-related comment ever. And I'm with you, I so wanted to romance Cora with FemRyder but noooo. They pulled that crap as well with Ashley and Miranda who were meant to be romance options for FemShep but then decided to leave them exclusive to that impostor ManShep/BroShep/Sheploo.

Hell, even the unused dialogue for the Ashley/FemShep romance is still in the found in the PC version of ME1.

I couldn't even hook up with PeeBee because.......I still don't know what I did wrong since many people claim they were able to romance "her" (yes yes, I know asari are mono-gendered so they're not technically female) even after......romancing "someone else" (spoiler tags are not working for me).

Since we're breaking out ME: A commentary, I'm at 30% completed and 51 hours in.  After Hab 7, the game just started to click for me and when I hit level 15+ (at Level 25 currently), the combat just started to work very well for me.   Story's grown on me and I can see where think it's some retreating with past story with the Kett and the Angara.  Inter-party banter I think has been the best of any of the series games, as there's moments where I hear party members talking in the Nomad and I have a "WTF did they just say?" moment.  Repeatedly.

It's a shame it's been sent off to the dumpster like it has been due to EA fuckery, though I'm still going to play the hell out of this playthrough and go back for a Sam Ryder playthrough.

The patches have indeed helped a lot, though I do think that it should have had 6-12 more months in the oven to really smooth it out.   Since it was 5 years into it already, EA must have had their fill of it and kicked it out the door.   Like they did with DA2 though worse.

Well, it's one thing for Bioware to say, "Sorry, Miranda's straight!" It's another to make such a queer looking character who'd fit in at any dance night at the local lesbian bar and have her unavailable. Then again, Suvi is a total lesbian and has a very typically feminine appearance, and I do appreciate the nuance of presentation not determining sexuality.

But goddammit that is a lesbian haircut.

As far as the Asari are concerned, I wonder what their native language is like and assume they have gender-neutral pronouns by default since they are mono-gendered. The course of the game acknowledges that they all have universal translator devices, much like in Star Trek, to explain away why the Angara can communicate in English and presumably the Asari too. Did the Asari learn English and start saying his/hers/etc, or does the translator adapt their neutral pronouns based on context?? I need to know. Were the Asari were completely indifferent to it in English when they made contact with humans, if it was such a human language function?

I agree, the team banter is great and it contributes immensely to character development, which would otherwise be lacking. The combat is excellent and a highlight of the game once you develop some powers. I'm going full biotic and at level 30, can wreck some Shaq-Fuers. I do wish you could still command teammates to use their abilities, though, seems an odd and unnecessary thing to remove from the series.

It really is a shame it was not received better. The non-technical criticisms were greatly overstated, IMHO, but much like Dead Space 3 and EA wanting it to sell 5 million copies, the game not being a 10/10 has them looking at greener pastures.

I think the situations were different. Dragon Age 2 was completely developed AND released in just 18 months. While we (allegedly) know that the bulk of Andromeda that we received was developed in the same amount of time, they were working on it for 4 or 5 years. It sounds like it was publisher meddling that forced the engine change to Frostbite, meaning most of their previous work had to be scrapped. This also explains why that leak from a while back had so much better animation than the actual game.

I guess if we get down to it, both are mostly EA's fault with the developer doing their best to make a good game and coming up short. It just makes EA look bad as always. I think the late, month long delay makes them look worse than anything in a while. It was EA basically saying "we know the game has some problems, we're going to give the studio more time to fix them" but then being unwilling to delay past March because it's the end of the quarter and they didn't want to upset the braindead shareholders. (Now, I haven't seen Q&A stuff from EA's investor meetings, but to understand my hostility, please check out this gem from one of Nintendo's, and know that I've seen a lot more like this http://kotaku.com/nintendo-investor-i-do-not-understand-video-games-1599625657 )

I just wish the average consumer would just pay a little more attention to the industry and knew when to be wary of a publisher, developer, or game. I know I'm keeping zero expectations for Anthem until I can play it.

Yes, Cora is an odd-looking duck in that respect, especially with spending all that time among the Asari. That and with her being super Asari fan-girl, there's just something missing that seemed to be a curious decision with that character. Suvi is a sweetheart and yes, until you start digging into her personality, it's not something obvious.

I assumed that Asari started out with gender-neutral wording though as they ran into the salarians and turians, that's when they started to adapt their speech patterns and wording/verbiage to other races that weren't mono-gendered. Humans probably kicked that process along a bit as well.

I guessed that we're in the "Babel Fish / universal translator" situation with ME and the Angara + Kett, as we get dropped into ME1 with everyone knowing everyone so we know how that commonality went down for language. Or, it's just Galactic Common all around.

My Sara Ryder is a huge jack of all trades at the moment and the profiles help with that. Going across the board has been helping with the profiles all getting developed at similar rates, too. It's an interesting choice I didn't like in the beginning though I do now a lot. "Can't get through something, change the profile and try again." is how I've been running a lot of the recent times where I get stuck.

The ME series had a huge bar to start from and since things were wonky out of the gate, the commentary about it was savage. Which is the big, big shame.

End of quarter and end of fiscal year. You said it yourself, EA's reluctance to release the game past March 2017 was to appease the shareholders who were informed a few months earlier that the game was coming out before the end of their 2017 fiscal year.

And let's not forget that ialso happened in a way with ME3. Bioware, specifically Casey Hudson, tried to convince EA in November 2011 to push back the game's March 2012 release date due to technical issues with the engine for the final sequence and EA said no. That's one of many reasons the original endings were as they were and all hell broke loose.

Metal Jesus has had a holo lens for a couple weeks and made a video of his thoughts.

I'm not sure we'll be seeing a next gen anytime soon. I think the Scorpio is a testament to that fact, actually.
Yeah it seems people still don't believe it's going to go the way of phones or video cards but we are 4 months away from release. Microsoft right or wrong is going all in on this. I've pretty much have moved to an all digital library so I'm all for it, no more BC issues and I can jump into the Xbox ecosystem at a variety of price points. I do think we will see a PSV from Sony but I think it will just be a name, it will be the same platform base as the PS4 with updated hardware. It would be crazy for them at this point to release a system that isn't going to be able to use a person's digital PS4 library.

Well, apparently there were rumors, somewhere, that Xbox One X was being delayed until Spring 2018. But then Uncle Phil comes to the rescue:

Where do those rumors came from? Jim Ryan maybe  :whistle2: ?

Yes, Cora is an odd-looking duck in that respect, especially with spending all that time among the Asari. That and with her being super Asari fan-girl, there's just something missing that seemed to be a curious decision with that character. I haven't dabbled in the profile system much yet, but I figure I will as I max out the biotic stuff I care about. Plus respecs are easy to do, I'll play around with it eventually.

I just wish EA would learn from past mistakes. Letting the bottom-line folks call the shots never works to their benefit. Both Dead Space and Mass Effect are products of EA taking chances on new IPs and giving studios some creative license, because there was no precedent or expectation for the finished product. That's reflected in the quality of those games, they were clearly made by people who cared about what they were doing.

The load times for saves sometimes are atrocious, especially when they are the product of random/unexpected deaths. The engine clearly was not made with this type of game in mind, which honestly makes the finished product more impressive IMHO.

I've been so busy with other things, it slipped my mind this game only came out in March. FFXV, by comparison, came out in November and hasn't dipped below $30. Dropping to $20, even for a weekend at retail, is bad no matter how you look at it. Which is really disappointing because it's a good game.

IDK, feeling good about that date isn't exactly November 7th confirmed either.
