I shouldn't spend any more money, but I'm torn on Fable Anniversary and Skate 3. Both of them usually don't go this low ($10 and $6.xx) and are holding their value physically. Seems worth it in that regard, but also, money.

The comments to that YouTube clip seem to suggest that the Install button won't show up if you have a partial disk install under way. You need to get rid of that first apparently. With the x360 I've rescued lots of disks just by washing them in the sink with soap and water then pat dry gently.

The game drops you in near the end of the third season, right after a pretty major surprise. If you've read the books you will know it as the Red Wedding, but if you're a total GoT newcomer - I'd pass. If you've already played and loved the other TT games, and don't care about spoilers, then TT GoT is another TT game.

kills the deal for me. Buying both for 40 (15 + 25) for physical versions or 45 (15 + 30) for digital is still less than just the required 59.98 minus the rebate for 10.
 
Caved and got the Bioshock Collection digitally. It’s worth the $4 digital tax. I wasn’t able to find Return to Arkham at TRU for $5.98, but used the $10 Ebay code and got it for $6.19. Good Black Friday weekend pickups!

Well, that’s pretty clear. Any pictures of the other form that doesn’t specify purchase price? I can’t imagine they would use two different forms..
 
I'm hoping someone can help me out with a Xbox Live digital game gifting question.  I want to buy a game that's currently on sale for my son but not let him see it until Christmas.  It seems like I can send it to a random email address (that I control) and then simply allow him to redeem the code on his Xbox account when i'm ready for him to.  It seems like the gift does not necessarily have to be redeemed on the account that you send it to but I can't tell for sure.  The only official word on this I could find from Microsoft is just marketing type comments that if the recipient already has the game, they can re-gift it, but I can't tell if that is a true built-in system function or just a way of saying that any gift code can be re-gifted.

I'm not at home right now, but will take a picture later. However, the insert that came with mine makes no mention of the price, that portion is straight-up not part of the insert.

I wonder if they changed them post-launch to encourage more sales, since as of November, no one was paying $59.98?

They charge tax wherever they have a physical presence i.e. a store. If your state had a Microsoft store typically you will be taxed on your purchase.

This is false. I live in California, and only a city away from a MS store, and I am not charged tax on digital purchases.

I'm going by US tax law. Your municipality or city could have a different arrangement but regularly this is how it's done. Is your Xbox live address the CA one? I know some people set it to other states to avoid paying tax on digital purchases.

Makes sense I know if they have a business presence they are required to collect tax. I am pretty sure in the past Live did not. I wonder they started after opening a MS store (I know of one for sure in NY there are probably many).

Sony has two retail stores left one in NYC and one in LA. But Sony doesn't collect tax on PSN. Wonder if it is some different division or something that allows for that.

 
I live in GA. There is a Microsoft store in Atlanta, and I pay no tax digital. I believe you are both correct.

One of you is actually citing tax law on PHYSICAL goods. If buying physical goods and the online seller has a physical presence in your state, you pay tax. This recently occurred to me when I lived in FL and Amazon built a warehouse.

Digital laws are a separate set of laws. Each state (or county magbe? Not 100% sure) determines if tax is charged on digital items, separate from the aforementioned physical goods tax.

Got Batman Return to Arkham from TRU for $7. Will I ever play it? I Have no idea, but my $10 or under for every HD'er rerelease rule continues to stand.

Amazon will always be tax free to me. However yes I do remember when two day shipping meant it shipped the day you ordered it and arrived in two days, not ship in 25 hours and then take two days to arrive. :drool:

My home address is what is on file. I've never paid taxes on PSN or XBL digital purchases.

Like Jimbo wrote above you're supposed to report it but I don't think anyone is going to come after you to collect the couple hundred bucks you aren't claiming. It becomes a matter of it costing the government more to come after you than to let it slide up to a certain amount. No United States Attorney's Office would take the case for a small amount.

I'm at 8 something % here in cali

best I can do is use my amazon card for 5% to earn a chunk of it back every month

better than nothing but I'll always miss those sweet tax free days with super fast shipping AND you could message them if a price reduced for a difference refund which I never have luck with anymore

I did find a way to get faster at my place by switching to my po box and apparently nearby oregon has a center now so I can damn near one day a lot of my purchases as long as they are from amazon themselves

Depends on what state and district the amount differs. 50K or up I would say of unpaid taxes. This would be a for a criminal charge. IRS civil penalty would be less but man it would have to be a lot of online shopping and other shady no tax stuff for them to come after you too.

Wait, what? Oregon has a distribution center? I live in Oregon, and I've never received anything from Amazon from Oregon. NV is usually the closest place I get stuff from. 10 years ago Amazon shipped me a lot of stuff from Washington, though I haven't seen a package shipped from there in years.

yup apparently. Always got mine from Nevada too but switched to my po box for some random reason and all of the sudden they are shipping from hillsboro or and also apparently usps is getting faster because it's been next day "excluding weekends ofc"

but also it being a po box means I probably get it faster because it's not getting loaded on any delivery vehicles which could cause a delay for one reason or another

 
I live in a city that is one of the last to get a delivery. I have had my package out for delivery and then it gets delayed til the next day because UPS didn't take the effort to get it delivered.

Weird. The only info I found was two planned centers that supposedly won't open until next year, and neither were listed in Hillsboro.

Thought about getting Project Cars 2 at some point but sounds like they didn’t do a very good job with the X enhancements. I’m happy with Forza 7 anyway when it comes to more sim like racers. Pretty much suck at non-arcade racing anyway. :)

Anyone hear whether they fixed the save issue in F7 and FH3?

One game I would like to see get the X treatment is Dirt 4.
