Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I Mean, he's right. It's why I opted out of the previews because there is no real benefit besides bragging rights. That and more often than not I hear something doesn't work because they downloaded an update from the preview program now something is borked until the next update.
I've been in the Alpha ring for a while now and it isn't so bad at the moment (minus the whole messages fuckery that is happening). I got into it to jump into the BC program early, but yeah that was pretty much the last time I really benefited from it.

My stupid ass was playing Unmechanical and I drunkenly palmed my controller and accidently pressed Y

-_-U
I hate achievements that require playthroughs without using hints, which are usually tied to a face button. I get paranoid that I may have accidentally pushed the wrong button.

Someone needs to make an Xbox One S to Xbox One S All-Digital Edition conversion video. Show us how to take a strip of white duct tape, put it over the disc drive and now you have it before anyone else that preorders! Seems like you could make a pretty funny YouTube video out of this.

So what are the early adopters impressions of WWZ...?

Happy with your purchase?
Cousin bought it, we played like 90 minutes last night. The core of the game seems fine. The basic gameplay is pretty close to a third-person L4D, even down to most of the Special Infected. The levels are shorter however, and are designed to have more moments of "stay here and defend" than L4D had. There are also only three levels per city, rather than the 5 to 6 of L4D's locations. There is a new set of survivors for each location so that's cool.

The biggest difference from L4D is a class system that changes your starting weapons and gives you access to different perk type stuff that you can choose as you level up. Weapons also have a leveling system. I can't speak to how this really is as it seems like you take a while to level each thing up. This is sort of a mix of L4D style weapons where you permanently upgrade instead of finding laser pointer style items randomly, combined with the leveling system from Vermintide.

Problems:

-There doesn't seem to be in-game voice chat during loading or in the mission lobby.

-There are no bots if you are not playing Solo. You either can play the missions alone to get bots or are required to matchmake if your party has less than 4.

-Many players are total idiots that rush off and die while drawing attention from the zombies. Most people are not using mics which probably makes the higher difficulties un-playable with randoms. Hopefully this is just a "new game" issue but with the lack of marketing there may not be that much of a playerbase.

-Some weird bugs. Nothing game-breaking so far but there was some weird stuff with zombie movement sometimes.

Overall it's alright. At $60 I'd probably say avoid but $40 isn't terrible if you are looking for another game like L4D.

"Preorder now and I'll stick a mystery disc in the drive before I tape it up. Will it be a game? A movie? A blank disc? Order today!"

SIGH...It has a disk drive, but it doesn't have a disc drive.

Mixpots for yesterday's Inside Xbox are out.
You get a gun for Sea of Thieves and a RAGE 2 avatar prop.

$30 for NG2? Are they high?
Doesn't even come with the DLC.

Paris Supporter Gnasher is live as well =D two skins I missed earlier... but I'm mostly done with the game anyway last thing I'm currently doing is the Million Points Raam Challenge only 14% left easy =D
That stopped tracking for me a couple weeks ago somewhere in the 50s or 60s. I haven't been on the game in a bit, with the Tetris 99 focus this past weekend. Curious if the game was tracking everything in the backend and just update the challenge fully or I'll need to play some more KOTH. Plan to spend some time this weekend, around watching the 2018 MCU movies as a lead up to Endgame.

They've also made eSports weapon skins sets available for direct purchase. They're calling it a sale, though they've never been available individually before. Not sure if that's everything except for the city ones from the weekend tournaments. I'd definitely get the S1 Vegas set. Will check some of them out.

Still have a lot to do in the game, including the Hardcore co-op challenge for Raam. Still want to try to get through Insane solo to pop that achievement before unlocking any of the co-op ones, but still stuck in that circular room in the catacombs with the Juvies and Pouncers. Considering going to a different save slot and restarting the chapter and saving some grenades to soften up the Juvies, since I have no nades at my current checkpoint. But the rushing drones in the earlier rooms ...

As for the tracking, yeah they had some issues, but they have been resolved for a few days now so tracking is working again for all 3 challenges, but progress been made after it stopped didn't count, so you still have to go on where you left off...

Also I'll do the same this weekend, we have a marvel marathon planned leading up to Endgame, and preview tickets are already in our hands haha =D

As for the eSports skins, never paid real money for skins and won't start that now especially since none of them can be taken to Gears 5...

Since you still have to do the Co-Op Hardcore one I assume the Hardcore Ironman Co-Op is also still one of the achievements you need?
As for going through Solo on Insane..I still remember cursing a lot going through that, the circular room however wasn't a memorable one, for some reason, getting rid of the juvies first is the key though, did a lot of rolls and tried to get them stuck on some of the tombs, which eventually worked. Also using that pillar in the middle and play a little ring around the roise helped, for some reason the juvies had a hard time hitting me going there. The rushin drones I remember though...THAT was annoying. AI teammates helped out on that one doing most of the work, while I was just trying to stay alive. At least you got through the museum part...that took me ages...

Decided to finally give Abzu a go.
It's a beautiful game on Xbone X and isn't even enhanced. Controls are great, camera is mostly cooperative and there's collectibles and secrets.
It's light on puzzles and nonswimming gameplay, but it's a fun experience that is free of any pretentiousness (I was expecting an obnoxiously artsy fartsy game). It's only a few hours of game so I wouldn't recommend buying it, but it's the perfect game for a service like Game Pass. Also an easy 1K GS.

I keep forgetting to watch to get the mixpot... but it sounds like I didn't miss much yesterday as I've never tried Sea of Thieves.

Syndrome Lancer is live.

Yeah, I still have the Hardcore Ironman co-op to do, but there's no rush there. I think the pain there will be the bike part.

My problem with that room is when you have to deal with both Juvies and Pouncers. I try to just run around the room and let the AI handle the Juvies, but with the Pouncer's tail attack pretty much able to 1 shot you, there's a luck factor involved that you can get by it without being targeted. I think there's also something wrong with the Juvie melee attack. It's like in Gears 2 when a Sire would make you flinch and lower your chainsaw from 5 feet away.

I have gold already until 2021 and currently a 14 day game pass...what would the alpha ultimate game pass thing offer me under those circumstances?? ((Waiting on alpha acceptance))

Just started playing The Swapper since it is leaving gamepass and I have a question.

I notice on the map near the start there are 2 unexplored areas that I can't get back to as they are blocked. Now can I get back to these areas later on?

There is a "point of no return" but it's not till you're near right about the very end of the game.

MHW is very fun until you hit the skill wall. A lot of people never do and can beat the ultra mega monsters with the top gear. I'm mediocre and could only get through tempered, Pickle got me more than I got it. And I did play over 200 hours, only getting maybe 1/3 through the content because the grind is fun.

how do i leave the insider i guess i been in it forever and never use it....might as well opt out
i dont know but i was an insider for awhile till it killed my original xbox, when i got my x s was still an insider but never installed the app so would still get benefits without the app causing problems, i would suggest just uninstalling the app, if ur dead set on it i believe u have to log in on a pc to the insider site and unsubcribe that way

Need to get back to MHW. Too many games too little time. Hopefully my mind and reflexes will still be working in 20 years when I retire so I can work through my backlog. :)

The CAG in me cant justify spending 30 bucks to get Ninja Gaiden 2 since i already own the disc.  Wanted to show support for games being added to BC but man thats steep.

Full line-up for the Castlevania collection has been announced:

Castlevania (NES)
Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest (NES)
Castlevania 2: Belmont’s Revenge (Game Boy)
Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse (NES)
Super Castlevania 4 (SNES)
Castlevania: The Adventure (Game Boy)be
Castlevania Bloodlines (Sega Genesis)
Kid Dracula (Famicom)

The last one, Kid Dracula, has never been officially released outside of Japan, which is kind of cool, but I was really hoping for at least Aria of Sorrow or Circle of the Moon. Was also hoping for at least one of the PS2 games. Of course, if the collection sells, they have enough other games to put out a second volume. Full article.

Also - rereleasing Castlevania 2 without any modifications just seems cruel, that game is impossible without a guide.

Pablo Schreiber cast as Master Chief in Showtime’s Halo series. Good actor but not sure if I see him as MC.

I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see a live-action Halo series working, especially with MC being such a stoic, faceless avatar for the player with some gritty one-liners. Same challenge with trying to give Samus too much dialogue, it inherently changes what people liked about the characters.

EDIT - saw the article, dude looks like Adam Sandler w/ a beard.

They must be planning on having him take off the helmet at some point otherwise they would have just gotten a tall stunt guy with Steve Downes continuing to do the voice.

Its not a bad list of games but much like you I would have liked to have seen some of the GBA or DS games included. I have fond memories of Lament of Innocence and never completed Curse of Darkness so would have liked those as well. Every keeps saying its going to end up being two parts so we can only wait and see if that's true and what part 2 might include.

That lineup seems good for a 1st Castlevania collection.  Having the GBA/DS games together in a separate collection makes more sense.

Yes, if they did a second volume focused on those games and included all of them, I'd be a very happy lady. Circle of the Moon gets badmouthed a lot, but it was my favorite for a long time and IMHO a great follow-up to SotN. There are passwords you can put into the name entry field which drastically change how the game is played, and I must have ran through it 6-7 times with them.

Really though, I wish they would get WayForward to do HD remakes of them (the GBA games specifically).
