Wish I'd have never bought the season pass for Evolve, or maybe I bought it bundled with the main game don't remember. I really enjoyed the base game when it was first released. You definitely need people to work together to be able to win unless the monster player is absolutely horrible.

Already own it but glad Borderlands 2 is going BC. I've put off handsome collection since I haven't played it on the 360 but own it and all DLC.


Did anyone pick up the Mass Effect cards against humanity booster pack? I have only played a couple hours of the first one (have Andromeda preordered to go straight into that) but they're so cheap I couldn't help but to get a pack.
 
Dammit, I bought Layers of Fear just last month when it was on sale. I'll gladly take Borderlands 2 digital as I have the first via previous GWG. Don't have to dig out my physical copy. Evolve is a skip for me. Had it on disc last year and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Heavy Weapon is a good little oldie xbla game for those that don't have EA Access.

Okay month for me, one outta four. Less than a month until ME Andromeda!!!!

You convinced us all to buy Stardew Valley and that game gave me instant buyer's regret. The fun never begins in that game. Just run around slowly, hacking weeds and rocks. Oh, you want to get a bigger backpack? Cool... come back when you have 900 billion coins. F YOU, GAME. Perfect game to fall asleep to.

(All joking aside, I realize I am in the minority here. I know it is a charming, critical darling. But I wish I never would have bought it - not for me.)

^ Stardew Valley is well made, has a great soundtrack, and has excellent pixel art. But the gameplay just didn't resonate with me. At all. Maybe when my 3-year old is a bit older, she can give it a whirl.

Yeah, when my brother sent me a text with the link I was a little worried about what he had sent me.

As for the stardew valley/farming game talk. I haven't looked into ooblets at all but stardew reminds me of harvest moon 64 which I loved when it came out. I've played one of the 3DS harvest moons and it didn't feel the same. I've only put a couple hours into stardew but a bunch of friends can't stop playing it. It is very much a hate it or love it type of game and for me when I start playing it more it will probably be a "I'll plan to play for a little bit but end up playing for a few hours" type of game which is how fallout shelter is for me right now. I'll plan to just do a quest and collect resources for 15-20 minutes and end up playing for an hour.

Imo, it makes for a good handheld/portable game. Play a bit as you're waiting for someone. Play a bit on your commute (assuming you're not driving). Play a bit before bedtime. As a console game, I just don't see it. Dedicating your time to sit there and grind.... hmmm.

Way off topic but for those with a taste for Mt. Dew I just discovered they messed with the cherry citrus game fuel flavor.  I usually buy a 12 pack or two every year and I was disappointed by how much worse it was this year.  Turns out it has less sugar and only 100 cal per can.  That is great but when it screws with the taste I would rather just have the diabetes. 

 
I jumped on to Fallout Shelter today and having to do an objective to rush rooms found myself staring down an array of Radscorpions, god those things suck. Then decided to go back into Halo Wars 2 and relaxed a little reading the new log files. Went back into the campaign and immediately found myself back to the stressed out/ fuck fuck fuck mindset with the Hold the Line mission.

Quit that and decided to check out the GWENT Beta going on right now. Learned the ropes and played some confusing battles of that, won 2 out of the 5 games (one win was a random disconnect from my opponent). I liked GWENT in The Witcher 3 but I had crap cards. Now I've got good cards and well my opponent does too so you gotta think and have a good strategy goin in or worry about tactics during a match - should I let them take this one and focus on the other 2 out of 3 games for instance.

Then there's Stardew, I need a break and this game is a good counter to think about this or keep your wit about this/that/and another thing. I can do what I want, try to accomplish what the townsfolk want - building my relationship in the process with said person - and try to better my skills in combat, mining, farming and so on. It's fucking relaxing. Yeah I know it took forever to get that backpack but sick of it Blink, the game keeps opening itself up as you go, ala an indie title progression.
 
Halo Wars 2 is really good! I love RTS games so it's awesome to be able to play a new one. I think it was a missed opportunity that you don't get to play as Banished, Covenant or Flood in the campaign though. I haven't even seen the flood at all yet. I heard the Promethians might be playable in DLC.

Slight spoiler, HW2's story is a continuation of the Halo 5 story and IMO a better one -Atriox is an interesting villain.

I wish they'd had an expansion or a dlc for the first to have the flood playable. You can play as multiple factions in skirmish or multi in HW2 - even as the late UNSC leader from the 1st, which looks to be HW2's Day One DLC. Due to this it could be possible but I don't feel it'll happen as yeah I think we'd see a Prometheans General before a Flood one.

Looks pretty cute. I'm glad Double Fine is only publishing. The last few games I've played by them felt fairly full of unfinished ideas like they just said "good enough" and shit them out.

Looking the developer website it sounds like Microsoft is working with them too which is why Xbox is happening. At least we're getting some indie games first like this and Cuphead, rather than the bigger indies just going for PS4 first because it's more popular, like Transistor or The Witness.

It's times like these that I wish they would not worry so much about the story and just put the flood in as playable in skirmish and multiplayer at least. It's just a video game, it doesn't always have to follow what makes sense.
 
I've heard of Layers of Fear, but I don't know what the game is about or what it even is. With that being said, I hope it's about peeling onions.

 
My gold has been expired for exactly one week and the $1 for one month of gold just showed up on my dash. I went for it and will cancel at the end of the month before the $10/mo renewal kicks in. Now I have another 30 days of gold and 30 days to find a deal on gold :)

Fear is subjective and while not dying did take away from some of the experience for me, there's still plenty to be scared about. I played a little bit of it on PC and it was fun and definitely tense. I'll gladly pick up where I left off on Xbox to get some achievements and finish the game.

 
I'm strangely tempted by Attack on Titan. I've never watched the anime, I barely know what's going on, but the gameplay looks like a blast. Is this the kind of IP that will hold value, or is it likely to be cheaper soon?

Frame rate for Layers of Fear was weird on Xbox One and gave me a headache. Still fun if you like horror games. Think of it as a haunted house.

I don't mind RE7 dlc coming out so soon. I can play it now instead of waiting months.

I got it on disc last week with the Best Buy Visa Checkout deal, but even without the prorated discount with VC, it's $31.99 with GCU.

Fun game. As I mentioned before, a little disturbing for a newcomer with the naked Titans. But the gameplay is a blast.

Nah, it's on sale this week. Was $30 and included the first half of the first season of the show as well. I bought it for $30, haven't gotten my code for the show yet though
 
Phantom Breaker no longer working via BC. Where does one complain?

It asks for a update when playing via BC, which obviously you can't do. If you cancel it then it asks for a new save and you can't play online either.

 
Finally completed my first 1-50 horde wave in any Gears game tonight. Probably not something I'd play often but still was pretty enjoyable. 

 
What is the latest build for preview ring 3? Was in preview for XB1 Phat and upgraded it to a One S before Xmas. In preview ring 3 on the One S (been in for a few weeks now) Last update for me was in mid-December.
 
 
Microsoft store is having a sale of 30%-50% off some games. It's physical only online but they did a price check for me in store and the digital copy of titanfall 2 they tested rang up at the sale price. It may be YMMV and unfortunately the sale ends today. Don't know if I'd want the digital copy of steep for $30. I have the physical copy I got for free that I could sell for the same price but think the $20 rang would be a better price to switch at.
